U.S. President Obama spoke at a U.S. mosque yesterday for the first time during his presidency. The president addressed the real threat posed by terrorists, but again refused to admit there was any relationship between terror and Islam. “So the best way for us to fight terrorism is to deny these organizations legitimacy …” he said. The motives of terror organizations like the Islamic State and Al Qaeda are given legitimacy—so Mr. Obama believes—when the religion of Islam is associated with their actions. And so America’s war against the nameless organizations spreading terror around the world continues. On today’s program Stephen Flurry explains that in order to conquer an enemy, it must first be identified.

Iran was in clear violation of the recently implemented nuclear deal when it decided to test-fire ballistic missiles capable of carrying nuclear warheads. The Obama administration was well aware of Iran’s breach of the agreement, but decided to use more ambiguous terms to describe Iran’s actions in order to preserve the deal. Instead of Iran violating the deal, the Obama administration advised its representatives to simply say Iran’s actions were inconsistent with the deal.
