Yesterday’s murderous attack on a British synagogue on the Day of Atonement points both to the sickness in a nation that has encouraged Islamism within its borders, and to the world’s crying need for the elimination of satanic influence—which is exactly what is pictured by that annual sacred festival.

Yom Kippur terror in Manchester synagogue: A terrorist named Jihad al-Shamie drove into a crowd of Jews outside a synagogue in Manchester during Yom Kippur yesterday. Wearing a fake suicide vest, he exited the car and stabbed as many people as he could. Synagogue security and other Jews blocked him from entering the building before police shot him dead.

Two Jews died and three are in serious condition. Tragically, one of the dead appears to have been shot by police while he tried to stop the attacker.

British synagogues have been fortresses for years, surrounded by barbed wire, with windows barred and entrances and exits carefully monitored. Elsewhere, Jews have to conceal their identity. Orthodox Jews are attacked or intimidated. Jews at universities cannot make their meetings public out of fear of attacks.

The danger has become even more blatant after October 7.

• Pro-Hamas demonstrations regularly shut down London’s streets. Demonstrators wave the flags of Hezbollah and Hamas, both officially terrorist organizations in the UK.
• “Globalize the intifada” and “From the river to the sea” are common refrains, both calls to murder Jews.
• Yet police do nothing, instead arresting those who insult or criticize those groups. Near one protest, police threatened to arrest a man for being “openly Jewish.”

Britain’s Labour government has amplified the lies being spread at these events: that Israel is genocidal, that it is deliberately causing a famine in Gaza, that Benjamin Netanyahu is a war criminal.

• Meanwhile the bbc, the state-owned broadcaster, reported: “We don’t know the motive for the attack, we don’t know if this was religiously motivated or a right-wing neo-Nazi attack, and we don’t yet have full details of the alleged attacker’s identity.” The attacker’s name is literally Jihad, yet the bbc wants us to believe he could be a white supremacist.

Yom Kippur, or the Day of Atonement, is a reminder of the very real spirit world. It pictures the time when Satan the devil will be restrained and unable to influence mankind—a truth Sam Livingston discussed on yesterday’s Trumpet Daily.

“The global rise of anti-Semitism is a sign of a very real spirit world,” we wrote in the weeks after the October 7 attack. “It’s a sign that evil spirits are real and they affect your life.” The Apostle Paul wrote that unto the Jews “were committed the oracles of God,” or God’s “divine utterances” (Romans 3:2). The Son of God was born of a Jewish mother. Satan hates this connection the Jews have with God and His plan. Rising anti-Semitism shows Satan’s rising anger and influence in the world. Drones over Munich fuel military urgency: Drone sightings at Germany’s Munich Airport caused multiple flights to be canceled yesterday evening, affecting around 3,000 passengers. Last Friday, a drone swarm was spotted over the German state of Schleswig-Holstein around government buildings, critical infrastructure and the premises of Thyssenkrupp’s marine division—sites that analysts warn would be among the first to be hit in a war.

• Though the drones were not confirmed to be Russian, the incidents follow other recent provocations by Russian drones against European states.

These events are casting a shadow of war over the Continent.

• “We are not at war, but we are no longer at peace either,” German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said on Monday in light of the drone incursions.

The invasions have coincided with a debate over Germany’s proposed military conscription. In August, the German cabinet agreed to a proposal by the Social Democrats to maintain voluntary military service for now. But now Christian Democrats are threatening to block the proposal and demand an immediate return to conscription.

• Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg, former German defense minister who suspended conscription in 2011, has called for its imminent return.

The correlation between the drone incursions and the conscription debate may be more than coincidental.

For more than 15 years, Trumpet editor in chief Gerald Flurry has warned that Russia and Germany may have entered a secret pact to amass regional dominance. The two nations have opposing ambitions, but for now they have set those differences aside.

Whatever is happening behind closed doors, Germany’s reaction both to the recent incursions and to Russia’s war on Ukraine suggests that those in power seek to exploit public fear to achieve their militarization goals rather than confront Russia outright. To some, the incursions may be more of a gift than a threat. Have German leaders approved of them?

Whatever the answer, prophecy tells us these two countries won’t attack each other before waging major war on other targets.

Hamas says it will respond to Trump’s peace proposal “soon”: President Trump gave Hamas a three-to-four-day deadline to accept the plan, which expires today. It seems Hamas may decline the offer, in which case it will face serious consequences. Whatever Hamas decides, Bible prophecy reveals that no man will bring lasting peace to the Middle East.

Germany celebrates 35 years since reunification: “We are celebrating the 35th year of being united in peace,” Chancellor Friedrich Merz said today in his address in Saarbrücken. “Our nation is in the midst of an important, perhaps decisive phase in its recent history.” He noted that “alliances of autocracies are forming against us” and new customs barriers are “weakening us economically.” Germany is not alone in this fight. French President Emmanuel Macron joined the celebrations, calling Germany’s reunification “a turning point in history” for all of Europe. This is true: In the last 35 years, much of Europe has rallied around Germany to create a new power bloc. “I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man,” wrote the Apostle Paul. The Church of England disagrees so strongly they just made a woman the archbishop of Canterbury, the church’s most senior clerical role. Dame Sarah Mullally is also woke, tweeting her support for Black Lives Matter, encouraging the Church of England to bless same-sex couples, and attacking even limited attempts to address Britain’s migrant crisis. Her appointment has met little criticism in the UK, showing how far Anglicanism has departed from believing the Bible. But Anglicans elsewhere in the world, and even a few in Britain, take the Bible more seriously. This decision will create a crisis for many. Compared to such blatant disregard for biblical teaching, the Catholic Church looks like a bastion of tradition. A growing number of traditional-minded Christians are returning to Rome, including U.S. Vice President JD Vance. The Church of England’s decision could accelerate that trend. Amid America’s “religious revival,” massive church closures: An estimated 15,000 congregations will shut their doors in 2025, far outpacing the few thousand new ones expected to open. Reports and experts report a broader religious shift that could see up to 100,000 churches close in the coming years. Pew Research Center data shows a dramatic decline in Christian affiliation—from 78 percent of Americans in 2007 to 62 percent today, and a record 29 percent identifying as religiously unaffiliated. Protestant denominations like Methodist, Presbyterian and Lutheran are falling fastest. Meanwhile, evangelical and non-denominational megachurches are growing thanks to charismatic leaders, social media savvy and ties to sympathetic politicians. ice and U.S. Border Patrol have arrested more than 800 illegal aliens in Illinois since September 8. In “Operation Midway Blitz,” the Department of Homeland Security has targeted criminals who come to Chicago and Illinois “seeking protection under the sanctuary policies of Governor Pritzker,” the agency said. Among those arrested were individuals convicted of rape, dui, gang activity and other serious crimes. Such actions are provoking backlash. “Since Operation Midway Blitz began,” dhs says, “rioters have assaulted law enforcement, thrown tear gas cans, slashed tires of cars, blocked the entrance of the building, and trespassed on private property. Our ice law enforcement officers are facing a more than 1,000 percent increase in assaults against them.” The curses unchecked immigration have brought upon America were prophesied in the Bible.
