Satan’s Frightening Power

Satan the devil is real! You need to equip yourself with powerful knowledge about this brutal spiritual monster, your arch enemy.

Have you ever considered how powerful Satan the devil is? God shows throughout the Bible that Satan has frightening power and can wreck entire nations! (see Isaiah 14 and Ezekiel 28). 2 Corinthians 4:4 says he is “the god of this world.” If we really understood that, it would probably petrify us, because that means he is worshiped in this world! Not many people believe that, but Revelation 12:9 says he has deceived the whole world! That takes a lot of power!

In the beginning, there was God and the Word (John 1). Then, through the Word, God created all the angels—many millions of them. Among them were three archangels: Lucifer, Michael and Gabriel. These three are considerably greater than the other angels.

Lucifer was perhaps the most powerful of that group. Lucifer means “light-bringer.” God sent Lucifer and a third of the angels down to this Earth to establish the government of God and bring light to this world in every way. Lucifer was given that amazing responsibility, and it was just the beginning of ruling over the entire universe if he and the angels obeyed God.

But Satan became filled with vanity and greed, and he wanted more. He rebelled and persuaded all of the angels stationed here on Earth with him to follow him and try to rise up and overthrow God! Instead of the light-bringer, he became Satan, the adversary. Jesus Christ said he fell to the Earth like lightning! (Luke 10:18). God took care of that rebellion decisively.

But in the process, Satan wrecked the Earth. The beauty of this Earth became tohu and bohu, as it reads in the Hebrew—waste and decay, total destruction (Genesis 1:1-2).

God knew then that the angels could not be trusted to rule the universe. So He decided to re-create Himself in man! God would use man to beautify the Earth and make it blossom like the rose (Isaiah 35). So He created man. Then, four millennia later He had His Son via a woman named Mary. The Word became Jesus Christ, the Son of God. That was the beginning of the God Family.

But Satan is still on Earth, and he rules it from his throne. God is using him for a very great purpose, especially for the firstfruits. Those are the people God calls out before the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. The people who overcome Satan as Christ did will rule on David’s throne with Jesus Christ forever! That is an unparalleled reward!

Recently, Satan tried to overthrow God again, but he and the demons were cast down and confined to this Earth. Now they are going about in a roaring rage because Satan knows that his time is short! (Revelation 12:12).

Satan has frightening power! People to understand that much better than what they do. Many don’t even believe in a devil, but they should. Many others believe in the devil, but they don’t know and understand him—they don’t grasp his power! He has the power to wreck nations, and the Bible makes clear that he has done so many times.

We need to understand Satan’s frightening power, because if we don’t know our enemy, we can’t overcome him.

War Over Revelation

The Prophet Daniel knew there is a God in heaven who reveals secrets (Daniel 2:28). He wanted to be close to God, so he fasted three weeks (Daniel 10:1-12). Those secrets of God were given to Daniel, and he wrote them down for us in the book of Daniel, but he didn’t understand them (Daniel 12:4, 9).

Look at Daniel 10:13: “But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia.” Satan is this “prince of the kingdom of Persia.” He fought against two great archangels—Michael and Gabriel—and it took them 21 days to conquer him, or drive him away! Satan was fighting the two most powerful archangels God ever created. That gives you some idea of the power of the devil. It took them 21 days to prevail.

Verse 14 reads, “Now I am come to make thee understand what shall befall thy people in the latter days: for yet the vision is for many days.” This is for the days we are living in right now.

As soon as Daniel was given all those secrets, Satan immediately attacked! It was a real war!

Daniel didn’t even understand those secrets, yet today, God has actually revealed the meaning of those secrets! (Request my free booklets Daniel—Unsealed at Last! and Daniel Unlocks Revelation.) We understand the book of Daniel and what it means for us today. If we didn’t understand it, we wouldn’t understand the book of Revelation, because the book of Daniel unlocks the book of Revelation. It is crucial we understand all this.

“Then there came again and touched me one like the appearance of a man, and he strengthened me, And said, O man greatly beloved, fear not: peace be unto thee, be strong, yea, be strong. And when he had spoken unto me, I was strengthened, and said, Let my lord speak; for thou hast strengthened me. Then said he, Knowest thou wherefore I come unto thee? and now will I return to fight with the prince of Persia: and when I am gone forth, lo, the prince of Grecia shall come. But I will shew thee that which is noted in the scripture of truth: and there is none that holdeth with me in these things, but Michael your prince” (Daniel 10:18-21). Here, you see Satan working to change the mind of the Persian king. He has the power to change the minds of kings who rule over great nations and great empires! Satan has done that many times in history. He routinely does things like that unless God sends Michael or Gabriel to orchestrate things in a different direction.

That kind of power should alarm us! If Satan can do that to nations, what can he do to you? God says He will protect us if we put our faith and trust in Him. He is very capable of taking on Satan. He can protect individuals or a collective body of nations.

The book of Revelation shows Satan’s influence on another great power: “And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast …” (Revelation 13:4). Who gives this “beast,” this great world leader, its power? Satan the devil. This too is an end time prophecy. It is yet to come, but it won’t be long before it does.

“[A]nd they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him? … And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth” (verses 4, 11). This is another beast—a beast that leads 10 nations. It is about to become the number one superpower in this world, empowered by Satan!

Verse 11 continues: “and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.” This is another great power, a religious power, along with this political power, and they worship the dragon, Satan the devil! And Satan uses them to make war!

We have to watch what is going on in Europe and around the world, and be aware of these events. What you see building right now in Europe, as well as in Asia and other parts of the world, will lead directly into the Second Coming of Jesus Christ!

Cast Out!

“And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him” (Revelation 12:7-9). These evil spirits are all confined to this Earth, to our horror. But all those in heaven rejoiced because they were so happy to get rid of that warring group.

Verse 12 warns, “Woe to the inhabiters of the Earth ….” Do you believe God? Do you recognize the power of Satan the devil? God is saying, Woe to the entire Earth and even the sea because of Satan’s wrath. If this is God’s Word—and you can prove that it is—this is something we ought to be deeply concerned about and appalled by. “[F]or the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knows that he hath but a short time.” Just a short time, and then you’re going to have unparalleled terror like this Earth has never seen!

2 Corinthians 4:4 says the god of this world has blinded the minds of them which believe not. If you don’t believe in God, you’re going to be blinded by Satan the devil. And even most people that believe in God don’t actually believe Him; they don’t believe His Word and practice it and live by every word of God! (Matthew 4:4).

Satan has blinded the world to this glorious gospel of Jesus Christ and God the Father. These God Beings wanted everything to shine with the glory of God—and if we do our part, it will do that even today to a degree. Jesus Christ is about to stop the madness in this world and usher in that glorious gospel to the entire Earth!

Murderer!

1 Peter 5:8 says that “the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.” The lion is the king of the jungle. And a male lion weighs up to 400 pounds, and he has 30 teeth and sharp claws. And he knows how to camouflage himself to get his victim. When hunting something like antelope, if one raises its head, that lion will freeze. He’ll be in a grassy area where they can’t even see him. he is very, very crafty! And then when he gets about 40 feet from his victim, he explodes into action—he can run very fast for a short time—and not many victims get away if he is that close. And then he gets his victim, he goes for the throat and strangles it to death. It’s a powerful animal! And God likens Satan to a lion. He goes about like a roaring lion, trying to lead people away from God and deceive them in many ways. Can you imagine how cruel and evil Satan really is?

Christ said the religious people of His day were trying to kill Him (John 8:37-40). They defied Him in every way. “Ye are of your father the devil,” he told them, “and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it” (verse 44). Christ is very aware of Satan’s cruelty and power.

Satan was a “murderer from the beginning”! He stirred Cain to slay righteous Abel, killing one of the sons of the first family on Earth. And God tells us if we hate our brother, it’s the same as murder, spiritually. Also, “there is no truth in” Satan—none! He is the father of liars! All he does is lie! Satan comes as an angel of light (2 Corinthians 11:14). He still thinks of himself as a light-bringer, but he isn’t. He is the total opposite! He is filled with hate and murder and evil. He is a brutal, powerful monster that people ought to fear mightily!

God has left Satan on Earth to show men what happens when you disobey God. Spiritually, he is like a roaring lion about to devour an antelope. But we can deal with him if we will just do what God says. God also wants to prove the firstfruits to see if they are capable of ruling with Jesus Christ and sitting on David’s throne with Christ forever! What a reward that is for those who will fight and overcome Satan!

A true Christian is somebody who follows Christ. The Bible is Christ in print—so we ought to follow it. If you don’t follow this Book, you’re not really a Christian, are you?

How to Stand Against Satan

Ephesians 6:10-11 say, “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.” Do you believe God? This says you must do something to stand against Satan, or he will trample right over you!

“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness [that is Satan the devil] of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places” (verse 12). Verse 14 says you must wrap yourself in His truth, the Word of God (John 17:17). That is what God wanted of Lucifer, but he rebelled; he thought he had a “better way.”

Ephesians 6:16 says, “Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.” You must have faith. To overcome Satan the devil, you must believe God, not just believe in Him, but believe His Word and follow Him.

“And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God” (verse 17). When you run into problems and difficulties and your mind is going the wrong way, go to the Scriptures. The Bible is your sword! This is your only offensive weapon!

Really, the greatest defense is to go on the offensive with this wonderful, precious Word of God and use it to conquer Satan the devil. Military strategists have long agreed that the best defense is a powerfully sudden offense! When we are threatened, we need to go to God’s Word and look into it as carefully as we can.

Notice James 4:7, “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”

Satan is real. He is a monster and a murderer. He is the father of liars! It’s hard to even imagine such a monstrous being! This is a being we ought to beware, and think seriously about his frightening power. He is the god of this world, and he is deceived the whole world. We need to live our life like we know and understand that. Resist the devil, and he will flee! Submit yourself to God, and He will protect you!

What happens when God gives His Church new revelation? Satan always directs his most ferocious attack against God’s people. The Prophet Daniel battled mightily to receive God’s revelation and recorded the struggle; yet in his lifetime, he never understood what God gave him. He was told that the meaning of the revelation would come in “the time of the end.” Then he got even more specific and prophesied what would happen in the “last end”—or the end of the end time. That time is now! Imagine the fate of God’s people who understand and must deliver Daniel’s revelation! Still, they have a much greater power than Satan supporting them as they deliver the most important message in this world.
