Iran Gets as Close as It Can to Breaking the Nuclear Deal

Iranian nuclear chief Ali Akbar Salehi told the International Atomic Energy Agency on June 5 that Iran is ready to open a “center for [the] production of new centrifuges” at its nuclear facility at Natanz in the coming days.

Salehi announced that his nation will build components for advanced centrifuges for nuclear enrichment—short of full assemblage of the centrifuges. That way, Iran can advance its nuclear weapons program and enlarge the threat it poses but still not violate the letter of the nuclear accord.

Is Angela Merkel Preparing for the Apocalypse?

“If you look at the world through her lens, the riders of the apocalypse are already appearing on the horizon.” That is how Spiegel Online’s René Pfister characterized German Chancellor Angela Merkel on June 5. “Listening to her is sometimes a rather frightening experience.”

“In her thoughts, Merkel is actually more revolutionary,” wrote Pfister. “She feels everything needs to move much faster, in Europe and in Germany …. Something has to happen, Merkel said with concern ….”

It appears Merkel believes that that “something” is the rise of a German strongman.

Slovenia Election: Europe Shifts Further to the Political Right

The Slovenia Democratic Party (sds) won the most votes (25 percent) in Slovenia’s parliamentary elections on June 3. The sds is an anti-immigration party led by the authoritarian former prime minister, Janez Janša.

Slovenia is the latest nation to join the recent far-right shift in European politics. This swing to the right has affected many nations across Europe, including Austria, Italy, the Czech Republic and Hungary.

Israel Participates in Its First Military Drills in Europe

The Israel Defense Forces (idf) Spokesperson’s Office announced on Monday that the idf is participating in two large military exercises in Europe for the first time. The drills began this week and are scheduled to continue until June 15.

The exercises involve thousands of soldiers from 19 different countries. One of the drills is taking place in several countries, including Germany, Poland, Lithuania and Latvia.

Israel’s increased military involvement with Europe is a trend the Trumpet has been watching since its inception in 1990. The Bible prophesies that the Jewish state will turn to Germany in the end time.

Is an Arab Spring in Jordan Imminent?

Jordanians have been protesting their government’s recently implemented austerity measures and tax increases for a week, sparking some concerns about an imminent uprising akin to the Arab Spring.

“[T]he region isn’t a stranger to instability,” Geopolitical Futures noted on June 5, “but Jordan is.” The protests are the biggest the nation has seen in years. Jordanian King Abdullah ii warned on Monday that his country was standing “at a crossroads: either it can come out of the crisis and provide a dignified life to our citizens, or, God forbid, it can go into the unknown.”

Whatever unknowns there might be about Jordan’s immediate future, the Bible gives us a lot of insight into the kingdom’s significant role in end-time events.
