The Pope’s Lebanon Visit and the Psalm 83 Alliance

The Pope’s Lebanon Visit and the Psalm 83 Alliance

The Vatican and Lebanon appear unlikely allies, but the groundwork is being laid for a confederacy between them and other players.

Pope Benedict xvi arrived in Beirut, Lebanon, September 14 to meet with Lebanese leaders and to undertake what he called a “Pilgrimage of Peace.” The visit adds to a growing body of evidence proving that a new power bloc is quietly rising on the global stage.

The pope’s three-day visit came amid a backdrop of civil war in Syria and during a spate of uprisings throughout the Middle East—one of which resulted in the death of U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens. Before Benedict’s visit, the Vatican had issued a toothless statement decrying not the Islamist attack on the U.S. Embassy and Stevens’s resulting death, but the provocations against the Islamic faith, which supposedly triggered the mob’s outrage. But the pope took on a different tone during his visit to Lebanon, sharply condemning the attack and saying that nothing justifies such acts of terrorism. The pope also addressed concerns about the plight of Christians in the Middle East.

Benedict is not the first pope to visit Lebanon. Paul vi made the first of such visits in 1964, and John Paul ii followed suit in 1997.

Evidence of a Biblically Prophesied Alliance

The Trumpet takes note when the Vatican and Lebanon begin to cozy up to one another because an alliance between the two was predicted some 3,000 years ago. Psalm 83 explains this end-time prophecy of Germany and the Vatican allying with Lebanon and other “moderate” Arab nations: “For they have consulted together with one consent: … The tabernacles of Edom, and the Ishmaelites; of Moab, and the Hagarenes; Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek; the Philistines with the inhabitants of Tyre; Assur also is joined with them …” (verses 5-8).

Both Gebal and Tyre in this passage refer to the people of the modern-day nation of Lebanon, while Assur refers to Assyria, which is modern-day Germany. The Bible and history agree that when Germany goes forth to conquer, it does so under the guidance of the Roman Catholic Church. So, this Psalm 83 confederacy of nations is led by Germany, and Germany is steered by the Vatican. (Read Germany and the Holy Roman Empire for a complete understanding of the undeniable German-Vatican connection.)

The pope’s visit to Lebanon last month is certainly not the first sign showing that the groundwork of this alliance is being laid. For years, Berlin has been ramping up its trade relations with and political and military investment in nations like Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Turkey and the Gulf states.

The German-led European Union is the world’s largest exporter of weapons to Saudi Arabia—which is called the Ishmaelites in Psalm 83:6. Berlin has also been deploying its federal police to Riyadh to help the Saudis with border security and to train them to squelch uprisings. In June, Germany’s Bild am Sonntag also reported that Saudi Arabia is aiming to buy 600 to 800 of Germany’s Leopard battle tanks, more than twice the number previously expected.

Back in 2010, the emir of Kuwait toured Europe in order to develop closer relations with Berlin and the Roman Catholic Church. A Catholic official said his trip to the Vatican would allow the emir and the pope to strengthen the “relations that exist between the Holy See and Kuwait.”

In April of 2010, German industrial giant ThyssenKrupp concluded a major strategic arms deal with the United Arab Emirates. For the last 30 years, Germany has also been supplying Bahrain with an ever swelling quantity of armaments.

Our research into the origin of the nations leads us to the conclusion that the peoples that populate the Arabian peninsula are descended from the patriarch of Araby, Ishmael. Thus, from a biblical perspective they may be counted among the tribes and clans of Ishmael, along with the dominant nation of the peninsula, Saudi Arabia—regardless of their modern borders.

Although quietly at present—and largely behind the scenes—Berlin and the Vatican are building an alliance with moderate Arab nations that is destined to take on tremendous significance in Middle Eastern affairs. The Arab Spring uprisings and aftermath are working as a catalyst in the formation of that alliance, and the pope’s visit to Lebanon represents a milestone in its coalescence.

It is significant that, in his condemnation of the attacks on embassies in the Middle East, the pope criticized Islamic Libya and Egypt. Bible prophecy makes plain Libya and Egypt will not be allied with Germany, the Vatican and the Arab states listed in Psalm 83. Instead they will be—and already have become—pillars in a radically Islamist camp led by Iran.

This rise of this Psalm 83 confederacy demands our attention because of the morbid aim the member nations share.

‘No More in Remembrance’

On the topic of Israel, this confederacy of nations says, “let us cut them off from being a nation; that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance” (Psalm 83:4).

For the last 70 years, Germany has had to live beneath the weight of the world’s memory of its World War ii atrocities. This collective memory shackled German military ambitions.

Sadly, the holocaust did not end with World War ii. That was only round one. Bible prophecy indicates that there is coming an even worse effort to erase every shred of memory of the Jewish nation—and even the biblical name of Israel—forever!

Even more alarming is that “Israel” in this context does not just describe the Jewish nation in the Middle East, but also America and Britain (as explained in our book The United States and Britain in Prophecy). The alliance discussed in Psalm 83 wants to destroy every vestige of these nations so completely that the world will not even remember the name of Israel.

But the Bible makes plain that while this alliance will wreak staggering devastation on its enemies, ultimately it will not accomplish its dark goal of erasing the name of Israel from memory. Those ambitions will be thwarted by an event so revolutionary it will make the Arab Spring regime changes look insignificant: the return of Jesus Christ ushering in age of global peace and prosperity!

Why Is Germany Collecting Taxes for the Catholic Church?

Why Is Germany Collecting Taxes for the Catholic Church?

How easy would it be for Berlin to forcibly tax all Germans and turn over their money to Rome, when it is already involved in tithe collection for state-recognized religions?

The German Catholic Bishops Conference issued a decree in September warning that those Germans who opted out of paying the country’s “church tax” would no longer be entitled to sacraments, religious burial or any part of parish life.

This “church tax” is a special tax collected in Germany and several other Western European nations that was introduced in the 19th century in compensation for the nationalization of religious property. All Germans who officially register as Catholics, Protestants or Jews on their tax documentation must pay a religious tax of 8 to 9 percent on their annual income tax bill.

“If your tax bill is for €10,000, then €800 will go on top of that, and your total tax combined will be €10,800,” Munich tax accountant Thomas Zitzelsberger told the bbc News website.

The German government then passes this “church tax” on to the respective religious organizations. If any person does not want to pay the tax, he or she must officially register as being “non-religious.”

In 2011, the Catholic Church received €5 billion (us$6.4 billion) from German taxpayers, making up the bulk of the church’s German income.

Recently, there have been a large number of Germans who have been officially registering as “non-religious,” while still attending Catholic mass and/or other Catholic functions. This is what prompted the decree from the German Catholic Bishops Conference.

“This decree makes clear that one cannot partly leave the church,” the German Bishops Conference said last month, in a statement endorsed by the Vatican.

So, from here on out, German Catholics either have to be full-fledged tax-paying members or they have to leave the church entirely, giving up all rights to the Catholic sacraments.

This decision is significant in that it shows that the Catholic Church is asserting itself in Germany in a way it has not asserted itself in many years. What may be even more significant, however, is the spotlight that this decision casts on the fact that the German state actually collects “tithes” for the major religious institutions that operate within the Fatherland.

In Britain and America, the religious tithe a person pays is a personal matter between that person and his or her church. In Germany, Italy and several other Western European nations, however, people have to officially register as Catholic, Protestant, Jew or “non-religious.” The state then collects the tithe of all “religious” people and passes it on to the church.

Long-time readers of the Trumpet will know that the Bible is full of passages foretelling of a time when Germany (Assyria) and the Vatican (Mystery Babylon the Great) will join forces to form one last revival of the Holy Roman Empire. How easy would it be for Berlin to forcibly tax all Germans and turn over their money to Rome, when it is already involved in tithe collection for state-recognized religions?

Will Science Rule Out Possibility of God?

Will Science Rule Out Possibility of God?

Putting God to the test

Since the time of Darwin, science has gradually chipped away at the belief in God’s existence. The laws of biology, chemistry, physics and astronomy supposedly account for the supernatural miracles that have perplexed believers and non-believers alike for millennia.

Now, a growing body of theoretical scientists say that science will soon arrive at a complete understanding of the universe that leaves no room for God whatsoever.

Will science soon finally rule out the possibility of God?

“As we learn more about the universe, there’s less and less need to look outside it for help,” says Sean Carrol, a theoretical cosmologist at the California Institute of Technology who studies the origin of the universe. According to Carrol, as science has increased its understanding of the universe, the need for God to explain the existence of matter and life is approaching zero.

For example, the Big Bang theory is the idea that all matter originated from one infinitely small, infinitely dense and hot singularity that billions of years ago began expanding outward, eventually creating the universe we know today. It is the most widely accepted scientific explanation of the origin of the universe. However, this explanation does not attempt to explain where the singularity came from in the first place, or what caused it to first begin expanding. Many theologians are quick to point this out and credit it to God’s creation of the universe as described in the Bible.

But according to Carrol, science is finally overcoming this criticism too. Scientists can model what happened from 10 to the negative 43 seconds after the Big Bang till now, he says, but even that tiny fraction of a second that remains unexplained may soon have an explanation. For example, quantum gravity theory says that instead of the Big Bang being the starting point of time, it was just “a transitional stage in an eternal universe.” This theory says that the universe acts like a pulsating balloon that inflates and deflates over and over again infinitely. There was no beginning and is no end—and thus there is no need for God, he says.

Other quantum gravity theorists disagree with the inflating/deflating universe and argue that the original Big Bang theory is still correct, but that no God was required to jump-start it. Alex Filippenko, for example, is an astrophysicist at the University of California–Berkeley. Earlier this year, at a conference, he said that “the Big Bang could’ve occurred as a result of just the laws of physics being there. With the laws of physics, you can get universes.”

So instead of believing in a universe that began expanding out of an infinitely small, dense and hot singularity all by itself, Filippenko believes in the creation of a universe due to universal laws of physics, chemistry and biology that spontaneously appeared all by themselves.

But where did said laws come from? How do you have laws without a lawgiver?

To get around this criticism, some scientists point to multiverse, string theory. In this theory, there are an infinite number of unobservable parallel universes in different dimensions. Because there are infinite numbers of universes, there are infinite numbers of combinations of laws of physics and chemistry, and thus eventually one universe would by chance have the perfect conditions for life that we find in our universe, on our planet. We just happen to be living in the lucky universe!

Once this theory is proven correct, “a multiverse happens, whether you like it or not,” notes Carrol. And then poof, there goes the need for God’s hand in starting the Big Bang.

The arrogance of so much of the scientific community never ceases to amaze. Scientists ridicule the belief in a God the Bible describes as having no end and no beginning, yet ask you to believe in a spontaneously generating, pulsating universe with no end and no beginning. The “educated” of this world laugh at people who believe that a God they cannot see or feel created the world around them. Yet famous, highly educated university theorists ask people to instead believe in a world only made possible by the existence of an infinite number of unobservable multidimensional parallel string universes. God skeptics criticize the belief in an eternal God without maker, but ask people to believe in laws of physics, chemistry and biology that also supposedly eternally existed by themselves without the aid of a lawgiver.

It is as if the world’s educated and wise have become fools.

No matter how hard arrogant people try, they will never disprove the existence of God by proposing alternate “scientific” theories of creation—and not just because the theories are wrong. It is because these complex theories inevitably ask people to believe in something that is both untestable and unmeasurable—the two very things that scientists accuse God of being—and ironically the two things that supposedly separate science from the supernatural.

If it is not testable and measurable, then according to the definition, it is not science. What then are you left with? Just another flawed religious faith among many.

God, on the other hand, is both testable and measurable.

One of the basic principles of the Bible is cause and effect. Throughout the Bible, God challenges people to test Him and prove Him. God says that if you obey Him, there will be certain results (blessings). You will be happy, healthy, have long life, be free from worry, be financially blessed, etc. Conversely, if you disobey Him, the Bible says there will be different results. You will come under curses. You won’t be truly happy. You will suffer from things like depression and other diseases. You may suffer financial problems.

Billions of people over the last 6,000 years have wittingly or unwittingly put God to the test—and have lived the very real and observable results.

Have you put God to the test? Or do you simply believe what other people say? If you say you believe in science because it is testable and observable—then put God to the test today.

God wants you to test Him. See if He won’t keep the promises He makes in the Bible. You can come to know God and experience the awesome way of life that leads to true happiness and purpose, filled joy.

You can begin by reading these three booklets: Does God Exist?, What Science Can’t Discover About the Human Mind and Our Awesome Universe Potential. Then read Mystery of the Ages by Herbert W. Armstrong, and put God and His Word to one final test.

Severe Drought Means Food Shortages

Severe Drought Means Food Shortages

One thing most Americans take for granted is food—life-sustaining, affordable food! People are known to get very angry and riotous if they don’t have enough food. Is it possible that America could ever face life-threatening food shortages? Should we open our minds to the possibility of famine plaguing our country?

We must take warning from the U.S. drought 2012.

By some estimates, this year’s drought was the worst since the Dust Bowl era of the 1930s and the lengthy droughts of the 1950s. The searing heat and extremely dry weather held its grip on over one half of the country through most of the summer. Yet, the drought hit suddenly and hard in the farm belt.

As people cooled off in swimming pools or at beaches, the nation’s crops were scorched, stunted and snuffed out by a relentless sun. The hardest hit crop was corn. I mentioned this in passing to a neighbor and they said something to the effect, “Well, that’s okay, I don’t eat much corn.” The truth is, we eat a lot of corn—we even drive our cars with corn.

The New York Times reported on September 12 that the corn crop for this year had been projected to hit a record 15 billion bushels because farmers had planted the most acreage in 70 years. By June, corn growers knew the crop was in trouble. At harvest time, for some growers things have turned out worse than feared.

In some areas of the corn belt, acres of corn stalks never grew beyond three feet. Most stunted stalks never produced ears at all. For stalks that did grow, husks were dry and empty. The few ears that did grow had just a few kernels. Some acres that were expected to produce high yields produced zero.

The United States Department of Agriculture’s (usda’s) projections on the corn harvest became more gloomy as the summer progressed. In September, the Wall Street Journal reported that “the government forecasts total corn production of 10.727 billion bushels this year, down 0.5 percent from its August estimate. The nation’s corn harvest would be the smallest in six years.” This number, although better than expected, is still significantly less than the expected 15 billion bushels projected in the spring.

In contrast, corn prices are expected to reach a record high of $7.20 to $8.60 a bushel because of the crop shortfall. Now let’s talk about the corn crop shortage’s effect on food prices.

When corn (or other grain) prices rise it is a given that the cost of our food also rises. Good food label readers know that corn is one of those products that’s in many of the items on grocery store shelves including cereals, chips and packaged foods. Corn syrup is used as a sweetener in soft drinks and other products. Corn is a primary feed source for livestock.

Because feed prices have risen, we can expect that milk and other dairy products, eggs, beef, poultry and pork prices will rise in 2013. By how much? Associated Press reported that “beef prices as a whole are expected to see the biggest jump at 4 to 5 percent, according to the usda.” Dairy products are forecast to climb 3.5 to 4.5 percent, while poultry and egg prices are projected to rise 3 to 4 percent. Consumers are definitely going to feel the price increases in food. Unfortunately, lower income families will be the hardest hit by the drought-driven food price hikes.

What most Americans do not recognize is the effect that our drought-damaged corn crop will have in international areas. The U.S. is the largest corn grower in the world. A rise in American corn prices affects world wheat prices. In addition, many nations depend on grain imports from the U.S. to supplement their own harvests. Further, add to the trouble the fact that the U.S. is not the only nation to experience severe drought this summer. The Black Sea region—Russia, Kazakhstan and Ukraine—also had crop-damaging drought. Russia has implemented grain export restrictions. World food supplies are expected to shrink, and prices will rise across the planet.

By late summer, world leaders feared a repeat of the 2007-2008 food price crisis that set off riots in countries including Bangladesh, Cameroon, Egypt, Haiti, Indonesia, Senegal and Yemen. French President Francois Hollande proposed the creation of strategic stockpiles of agricultural produce to build a hedge against drastic price hikes. PressTV reported that he told farmers in Rennes, “I am pushing with heads of state and government for protection against [market] volatility in the form of emergency food stocks, and I will continue to do this.” The United States, which eliminated its long-term grain stockpiles in 1996, generally opposes large regional or global stockpiles to buffer prices.

Even though the usda’s recent report on America’s corn crop has calmed international nerves somewhat, Robert Thompson, a food security expert at the Chicago Council on Global Affairs, told Reuters on September 12, “Probably we overshot a little bit on the scare a month or so ago but it sent a strong signal that we were going to have to ration a smaller crop. It definitely got everybody’s attention …. It was a shot heard around the world.” Yet, some analysts and traders are still wary of calling an end to international grain price surges.

Now that fall has made its debut, drought conditions have eased in some areas and expanded in others. Climate Central reported on September 13 that “Drought Monitor statistics showed that moderate to exceptional drought covered a new high of 64.16 percent of the lower 48 states as of September 11 ….” In addition, Climate Central reported that almost 80 percent of the U.S. is still experiencing some drought. These numbers give American farmers sleepless nights. There is even worse news. Drought conditions are expected to continue through the end of the year.

What happens if drought conditions continue in the U.S. through 2013? Depending on the severity, we should expect more food shortages and higher food prices! U.S. food shortages will affect many nations already struggling to feed their people. Millions could suffer hunger. Food riots similar to those of 2007/2008 will reoccur.

Remember, America has stopped stockpiling food reserves! Another year of severe drought will bring into sharp focus that the days of plenty are over for the U.S. The specter of famine is looming on the horizon. Yet, you can escape the famine that is sure to come. Request a free copy of The United States and Britain in Prophecy. This book clearly explains why a famine is coming on America and what you need to do to escape this frightful event.

For decades, the Trumpet and have been warning that America will experience a national food shortage leading to horrific famine. Be sure to read our article “When the Food Runs Out” in our archives. In addition, be sure to watch the Key of David program “God’s Secret Weather Prophecies.” This program clearly explains why America is experiencing severe droughts and extreme floods.

The Law and Freedom

The Law and Freedom

Those who would tamper with our common law play with fire.

From the time when the leftist putsch of the 1960s attacked the reality of absolutes, Anglo-Saxon law has been fair game for those seeking to destroy the very foundation of our society.

Fiddling with the precedents established in English Common Law has been fashionable for decades, as the so-called politically correct movement has encroached increasingly on the basic freedoms that law once guaranteed. Those freedoms were guaranteed in the very law that historically was held up as an example to all as the underpinnings of the most free societies that modern civilization has ever witnessed—the Anglo-Saxon nations.

When the Founding Fathers established the constitutional framework on which to build a nation of United States on the North American continent, they did so having in mind the foundational example of the Ten Commandments.

Divorced from the liberal socialist tenets of revisionist historians—the very best position to take in respect of those deceivers—it remains a fact that the learned tome of Sir William Blackstone, Commentaries on the Laws of England, was the most influential guide in the formulation of both the American Constitution and the foundational law of the United States of America.

As the Blackstone Institute notes, “The Ten Commandments are at the heart of Blackstone’s philosophy. Blackstone taught that man is created by God and granted fundamental rights by God. Man’s law must be based on God’s law. Our Founding Fathers referred to Blackstone more than to any other English or American authority.”

Blackstone’s commentary became the basic textbook establishing the model for American jurisprudence. While it remained so, U.S. lawyers retained a sense of legal heritage that tracked back to the Ten Commandments and the law of Moses.

But that all began to change with the liberal putsch in the 1960s, and the penetration of the U.S. Supreme Court by the liberal socialist, godless, evolutionary mindset.

“It was only in the mid-20th century that American law, being rewritten by the U. S. Supreme Court, repudiated Blackstone. An attack on Blackstone is an attack on the U.S. Constitution and our nation’s Judeo-Christian foundations” (ibid.).

Ever since, the U.S. Supreme Court has progressively taken to itself a prerogative never granted it at its inception—the power to change the very fundamental basis of the law that it was set up to protect, promulgate and reinforce—the very basis of our nation’s being—its founding Constitution.

The Word of God, which records the very foundational laws underpinning a truly free society, declares, “My son, fear thou the Lord and the king: and meddle not with those given to change” (Proverbs 24:21).

Your Bible commands, “Fear God and keep his commandments; for this is the whole duty of man” (Ecclesiastes 12:13). Note that the word “duty” is italicized in the King James Version, meaning that it was added by the translators. So the original Hebrew actually reads, “for this is the whole of man.” Meaning that for man to fulfill his incredible, God-given reason for being, his incredible human potential, he must fulfill those two obligations—fear God and keep His law.

When man takes to himself the prerogative to seek to change God’s law, he takes to himself a prerogative that God reserves for Himself alone! That is tantamount to rank blasphemy!

The Eternal has declared of Himself, “For I am the [Eternal], I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed” (Malachi 3:6).

God is constant. His law therefore is constant, immutable, unchangeable. When man fiddles with God’s immutable law, he risks reaping the wages of his rebellion—death! For sin is the transgression of that immutable law. And the wages of sin are death! (Romans 6:23).

But the good news is that if we will only look into God’s perfect law—and obey it—we would find the true freedom that leads to the fulfillment of our incredible human potential! “But whoso looks into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed” (James 1:25).

For, of a truth, we shall all be ultimately judged by that law! “So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty” (James 2:12).

Those who tamper with God’s law place themselves at high risk of reaping the penalty for such as invoked by the law’s Creator. For as the Eternal God declares of the leaders of our day, “O my people, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths. The Lord standeth up to plead, and standeth to judge the people” (Isaiah 3:12).

The further our leaders work to liberalize, feminize, homosexualize and otherwise pervert God’s perfect law on which this once great nation was founded, the further the nation is distanced from its moral compass.

The present course followed by our nation’s leaders is set but to hasten the day when, called upon for the third time within a century to defend this nation’s reason for being, “They have blown the trumpet, even to make all ready; but none goeth to the battle: for my wrath is upon all the multitude thereof” (Ezekiel 7:14).

At that time, the moral backbone having been ripped out of the body of the nation, it will be but ripe for the plucking by the enemy. The enemy within will have prepared all for the devouring by the enemy without!

“The sword is without, and the pestilence and the famine within: he that is in the field shall die with the sword; and he that is in the city, famine and pestilence shall devour him” (verse 15).

You need to know just how close we are to the fulfillment of these great prophecies for our day. A good place to start would be by studying our booklets No Freedom Without Law and Ezekiel: The End-Time Prophet. Studying those booklets will help you see beyond the impending and very rapid demise of the Anglo-Saxon nations, to the society—the truly free society—based upon God’s immutable law, that will subsume all others in the not-too-distant future.

God speed that day!

Germany Ends Its Military Mission in Bosnia-Herzegovina

Germany Ends Its Military Mission in Bosnia-Herzegovina

The Bundeswehr’s peacekeeping mission is over in Bosnia and Herzegovina, but don’t forget Germany started the Balkan wars to begin with. Here’s a reminder of how Germany acquired its first colonies.

The last three German soldiers headed home from Bosnia-Herzegovina, ending the German Army’s longest military mission beyond its borders, on September 26. Since 1996, 60,000 German soldiers, 18 of which lost their lives, have served in the war-torn Balkan country.

The German Army first deployed there 17 years ago as part of the nato led Implementation Force. nato was charged to keep the peace after a 3½-year civil conflict erupted in 1992, when the former Yugoslavia broke up killing 100,000.

Beginning in 2002, the European Union began to take over the peacekeeping missions, and Germany extended the deployment of up to 800 of its soldiers.

That was a key moment in history and Bible prophecy. (Request our free booklet Germany and the Holy Roman Empire to find out why in more detail.) When the EU took over, it took de facto control of Bosnia-Herzegovina.

This was when the German-dominated EU gained control of the first colonies of its empire!

How did it happen? It’s worth remembering the history of this conflict, which was started by Germany.

Yugoslavia: Germany’s First Military Victim After WW2

Yugoslavia was a country created from the peace settlement at the end of World War i. It was a merger of three major religions and many different ethnic groups. The Catholic regions of Slovenia and Croatia combined with the Eastern Orthodox Serbs and Muslim Slavs to create one motley nation.

After World War ii, the nation was held together by the strong Communist dictatorship of Josip Tito. After he died in 1980, the nation began to unravel. In 1991, Catholic Slovenia and Croatia declared independence from the Serbian-dominated government.

In December 1991, events in the Balkans began to take shape when against strong opposition from the United States, United Nations and even the European Economic Community, Germany recognized the breakaway states of Croatia and Slovenia. Just like that, Germany destroyed its old enemy from World War ii, Yugoslavia.

Pope John Paul ii quickly followed, for obvious reasons.

About a month later the European Economic Community caved in to Germany and recognized the two states on Jan. 15, 1992.

Germany was opposed by virtually the entire world, and yet it stood firm!

Even more than that, Germany was training the Croatian Army and Air Force. Civil war broke out after the two regions declared independence. In 1992, with Yugoslavia already losing control, Bosnia broke away, starting yet another war. Yugoslavia continued to be torn apart even into the 2000s. Just look at a map of southeastern Europe to see the final result—and it all started with Germany!

Even though German troops have finally been pulled out, the European peacekeeping mission is ongoing. Tensions remain high between the three major ethnic groups in the country, the Serbs, Croats and Muslims, and the need for a European force is still there.

And why would the EU leave?

The Balkans region provides a strategic location in the Mediterranean Sea. That is another reason why Germany and the Catholic Church pressed for the dissolution of Yugoslavia. (For detailed analysis on Germany’s motives, read our free booklet Germany’s Conquest of the Balkans.) German troops don’t have to remain, as Germany has since come to dominate the EU through the ongoing euro crisis.

So, ironically, the German troops have been withdrawn from keeping the peace in the very region in which they started the war! What a masterful move by the same country that started both world wars. No wonder it now dominates the entire European Union!
