“The 120th Congress will officially be the gayest Congress in history!” the Congressional Equality Caucus posted yesterday, two days after Democrats swept the midterms. It added, with a wink, “(that we know of).”

• According to the Washington Blade, 17 of the 18 openly homosexual, bisexual or transgender-identifying candidates for federal office won on Tuesday, a record. All are Democrats.
• Rep. Chris Pappas of New Hampshire becomes the first openly homosexual man elected to the Senate, joining Tammy Baldwin, a lesbian.
• Six new lgbt House members will join nine reelected incumbents. Four of the six took seats from Republicans; the other two are Jeremy Moss, Michigan’s first openly homosexual congressman, and Scott Wiener, who won Nancy Pelosi’s old San Francisco seat.
• In state legislatures, seven transgender-identifying candidates won seats, including the first ever in Alabama, Georgia and Wisconsin. Michigan now has nine openly lgbt state lawmakers.

In Washington, they’ll fit right in. The capital has the nation’s highest concentration of this behavior: About 14.5 percent of adults in the District of Columbia identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender, according to ucla’s Williams Institute—nearly double the rate of any state and more than 2½ times the national rate.

“Most men are gay in D.C.”: Last year, Natalie Winters, a pro-Trump White House correspondent, told the Times, “I think most men are gay in D.C.—either out or closeted depending on whether they’re Democrats or Republicans.” Her picture of Republicans may be out of date: Many aren’t hiding at all. Just look at President Trump’s own team:

• Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent is the highest-ranking openly homosexual official ever confirmed by the Senate, and the first openly homosexual Senate-confirmed cabinet member in a Republican administration.
• Richard Grenell, Trump’s envoy for special missions, has called Trump the most pro-gay president in American history, and Trump embraced the title. The New York Times reported last year on a circle of powerful homosexual men in this administration, whom it dubbed the “A-Gays.”

Washington’s acceptance of homosexuality isn’t new. For decades, it has exercised a “breezy tolerance of sexual corruption” but kept it quiet. Today, the secret is out. And barely anyone in either party would call it sin.

But God does. In several scriptures He condemns homosexuality and even calls it an abomination (e.g. Leviticus 18:22; 20:13; Romans 1:26-27; 1 Corinthians 6:9-10; 1 Timothy 1:9-10). America is supposedly in a religious revival yet takes for granted the presence of such sin in our most powerful offices.

• The Prophet Isaiah described a people who “declare their sin as Sodom, they hide it not. Woe unto their soul! for they have rewarded evil unto themselves” (Isaiah 3:9). That isn’t describing a Washington of open secrets—but an “officially” homosexual national capital.

We have grown casual about what God calls an abomination. But He has not changed His law—nor will He spare us His punishment for embracing such sexual corruption.

Stock Crash Exposes AI Overdependence

Yesterday, the nasdaq 100 index dropped 6.4 percent, costing Wall Street more than $3.2 trillion as investors panicked over Democrats’ sweeping midterm victories and the risk of tighter AI restrictions.

• This was the index’s sharpest decline since the depths of the covid-19 pandemic.
• nvidia fell about 9.3 percent, wiping roughly $400 billion off its market value.
• The S&P 500 fell 4.4 percent, while two-year Treasury yields dropped to 4.47 percent.

The massive selloff was driven by fears that Democrats’ control will impose stricter rules on AI companies and data-center construction, which have soared under Donald Trump.

• Exit polls showed 56 percent of voters called AI a crucial factor in their vote for Congress; 76 percent said they would oppose a new data center in their community.
• Newly elected figures such as Texas Senator James Talarico and Governor Gina Hinojosa have criticized the energy costs and pledged moratoriums or tougher rules.

Large gigawatt-scale AI data centers can use up to 10 million gallons of water a day for cooling and draw as much electricity as hundreds of thousands of homes.

• Many Americans want AI chatbots but oppose having data centers in their communities.

AI is a world-changing technology, but many businesses are investing without clear ways to measure its financial benefits. If real-world returns do not rise fast enough, the value of these investments will fall sharply, rapidly deflating not only the companies themselves but everything connected to them.

• An AI-driven spending crunch or bubble burst is likely to trigger an economic slowdown similar to the 2001 dotcom bust, as we reported in “The AI Gamble.”

This vulnerability is part of a broader pattern of American economic overextension, as explored in the Trumpet’s analysis of “America’s Economic Collapse.”

Greenland Ratifies U.S. Security Agreement

On Tuesday, Greenland’s parliament ratified a security agreement with the United States and Denmark that authorizes new U.S. military bases and the deployment of the Golden Dome missile defense system.

• Lawmakers approved it 16-0, with seven abstentions.
• The Danish parliament is expected to hold its final vote on November 19.

During the Cold War, military planners in Canada, Denmark and the U.S. knew that a Soviet nuclear attack on North America would likely come via intercontinental ballistic missiles crossing the Arctic Ocean. These three nations worked together to create the rca 474L Ballistic Missile Early-Warning System at Clear Space Force Station in Alaska and at Site J near Pituffik Space Base in Greenland.

• This system tracked Soviet icbm activity for decades until it was replaced by the Solid State Phased Array Radar System in 1987.
• President Trump wants to leverage the sspars radar in Greenland as a key early-warning asset for his new missile defense shield.

This new deal has no end date and obligates Greenland, should it become independent from Denmark, to remain in nato and assume Denmark’s obligations.

• It also bars non-nato nations from establishing a military presence on the island, whether manned or unmanned, unless all three signatories agree otherwise.

“The Fight for Greenland,” in our February Trumpet issue, makes the case that in the event of a nuclear strike on North America, troops at Pituffik Space Base are among the likeliest to hear “the snorting of his horses” and “the neighing of his strong ones” (Jeremiah 8:16). Yet Jeremiah’s prophecy indicates that, for one reason or another, those who hear the approaching army will fail to act.

When a Government Shuts Down a Bank

Paraguay’s Ueno bank was taken over and dissolved by the nation’s central bank early Tuesday morning after authorities discovered it didn’t meet solvency requirements.

• The move froze the accounts of nearly 3 million customers—representing roughly 60 percent of Paraguay’s adult population—and triggered a political crisis that led to mass street protests and the resignation of President Santiago Peña.

Regulators found that the bank had made high-risk loans to its owners, expenses had been labeled as assets, and other questionable accounting practices meant the bank’s real assets equated only half those required by law.

President Peña resigned yesterday due to accusations of corruption, as he once indirectly held a stake in the bank and appointed the leader of its predecessor organization as head of the central bank. He is also accused of potentially covering up the bank’s issues.

• He resigned minutes before Paraguay’s lower house voted unanimously to impeach him.
• Authorities arrested seven Ueno executives as well as its founder, charging them with attempted fraud and breaching public trust.

Paraguayans fled to stablecoins denominated in U.S. dollars, such as Tether, which increased in value as much as 13 percent in the aftermath.

While the U.S. dollar has been regarded as safe by international banks and investors, Bible prophecy warns that it will collapse and take individuals, institutions and nations down with it. The unrest and fallout within the small nation of Paraguay is a small foretaste of the broad chaos we can expect to explode within the United States soon on a spectacular scale.

Russian military satellite likely rehearsed in-orbit attack: A Russian military satellite that maneuvered unusually close to a Western commercial satellite last month was likely rehearsing an attack, space analyst Greg Gillinger told Reuters yesterday. From October 15 to 19, the Russian unit Cosmos 2612 made several close approaches to Iceye-X36, a radar-imaging satellite operated by Finnish-headquartered multinational Iceye that provides imagery to Western governments and militaries, including Ukraine. At one point, Cosmos 2612 came within roughly a third of a mile of the satellite. “This is the most aggressive posture I’ve seen Russia take in terms of threatening satellites from another nation,” Gillinger said, adding that it “looks like an attack rehearsal.” The warning came as two other Russian military satellites are currently approaching Iceye-X37, another spacecraft in the Iceye constellation, and raises fresh concerns about the vulnerability of satellites.
