Will Andrew’s Arrest Topple the Royal Family?
Will Andrew’s Arrest Topple the Royal Family?
Good morning!
Will former Prince Andrew’s arrest bring down Britain’s royal family? It’s possible. Britain’s public is already fed up with royal scandals. This sleazy situation may be a tipping point when they’ve simply had enough.
“Andrew’s Fall May Now Be Complete. The Question Is … Will He Bring Down the House of Windsor With Him?” That’s the title of Richard Kay’s scathing opinion piece in today’s Daily Mail.
Americans don’t care much. But Kay’s op-ed is remarkable in light of what Trumpet publisher Gerald Flurry has been prophesying about the monarchy for years. This is an existential crisis for an institution gifted to the British by God Himself, tracing all the way back to King David, and which they have trashed through immorality. There are epic lessons here we mustn’t ignore.
As damaging as previous scandals have been, Kay writes, “the affair of the ex-prince Andrew is of a different scale.” Past royal crises were weathered due to lingering public affection for the monarchy. When Edward viii abdicated in 1936, 90 percent of Britons identified as monarchists, and Edward was enormously popular.
The modern public is far less deferential. As Andrew’s remorseless lust, greed, entitlement and abandonment of patriotic duty are being exposed, recent surveys show a bare 51 percent of Britons believe the monarchy is important, and it’s much less among younger people. Republicanism is rising. Charles and William are being heckled publicly.
Queen Elizabeth ii represented a more dignified age for the family. But Kay describes how she facilitated the crisis now exploding by dealing with her son’s sins too lightly, too slowly, with excessive compassion.
King Charles has been more ruthless—stripping titles, honors and homes—but the crisis still overshadows his reign. “It is now quite likely that however long or short, the King’s reign will be remembered for one thing and one thing only—Andrew and how he dealt with him.”
Now Andrew’s arrest shifts control away from the palace to legal authorities, potentially leading to a sensational trial. “Just imagine the brother of Britain’s sovereign on trial in one of His Majesty’s courts where judges and magistrates sit beneath the royal coat of arms. Verdicts of guilty or not guilty could be equally damaging to the monarchy.” And attempting to prosecute the King’s brother in His Majesty’s Courts and Tribunals Service could cause extraordinary constitutional complications.
This monarchy was prophesied in the Bible. Its history connects directly back in an unbroken chain to Britain and America’s ancient ancestors in the kingdom of Israel. It is one of the most powerful proofs of God’s existence, the Bible’s credibility, God’s blessings for obedience—and God’s curses for disobedience. (Proved in The United States and Britain in Prophecy, by Herbert W. Armstrong.)
And the Bible prophesied the fall of the House of Windsor.
Back in 2017, Mr. Flurry foretold “The Fall of the British Royal Family.” That year marked a change in the throne that presaged far worse times for Britain and its royals. This change is explained in Mr. Flurry’s book The New Throne of David.
SCOTUS Rules Trump’s Tariffs Illegal
In a rebuke to President Donald Trump, the U.S. Supreme Court issued a landmark 6-3 decision this morning to strike down the emergency tariffs he has put in place this past year. This invalidates a range of tariffs the Trump administration has imposed under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act, opening the door to billions in refunds for affected businesses and consumers.
- The majority opinion, authored by Chief Justice John Roberts, says President Trump exceeded his legal authority while imposing sweeping tariffs on more than 150 nations without congressional approval by using a law reserved for a national emergency.
The Treasury may be forced to issue over $175 billion in tariff collections to importers, Penn-Wharton Budget Model economists say. Research firm Capital Economics estimated about $120 billion in refunds, which is still 0.5 percent of gdp. In his dissent, Justice Brett M. Kavanaugh warned that the refund process would be a “mess.”
- This decision curbs unilateral presidential authority in U.S. trade policy and reinforces Congress’s role in economic matters.
- More broadly, it could influence global trade dynamics, resetting negotiations with trade partners and potentially easing tensions with the EU and countries like China.
The Trump administration is planning to use other legal pathways to reimpose similar duties, though these may face further challenges. So the effects of this ruling may not be as serious as the president’s enemies hope.
- President Trump will likely still be able to impose tariffs on countries that are active threats to U.S. national security, but this Supreme Court ruling will make it harder to enact sweeping tariffs on dozens of nations without congressional approval. It creates additional legal and economic obstacles for an administration already deeply mired in problems.
America’s $901 billion trade deficit is a curse that makes the nation vulnerable to economic besiegement.
Starmer Blocks Trump From Using UK Military Bases
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has decided that a potential U.S. bombing of Iran could violate international law and will not allow American warplanes to take off from British military bases.
- Starmer was a human rights lawyer before becoming prime minister. His painstaking approach to international laws is one of the most dangerous weaknesses of his government.
- In the absence of a single world government, international law is fragile and malleable. It doesn’t stop aggressors. And there is no real court system to give authoritative rulings. Some courts can rule on some aspects of it, but they’re not linked into a unified system, have limited jurisdiction, and can be easily ignored by any country that wants to.
Almost anything can be construed as a breach of international law.
- The UK, for example, signed the Kellogg-Briand Pact in 1928, which outlawed war under all circumstances. Does that make Neville Chamberlain and Winston Churchill war criminals for waging war against Nazi Germany? People have argued both ways, and there’s no court empowered to give an authoritative decision.
Bottom line: In trying to ensure everything Britain does adheres strictly to international law, Starmer is paralyzing the nation, dividing it from its most important allies, and shielding dictatorial and deadly regimes.
God calls modern Britain a “silly dove” (Hosea 7:11). Its naive foreign policy prevents Britain from confronting threats, while enemies with no regard for international law are rising all around us.
America’s Debt-Spiral Risk Grows
U.S spending is growing faster than revenue, federal deficits will soon exceed $3 trillion, and interest costs are set to explode, according to the February Budget and Economic Outlook, released on February 11 by the Congressional Budget Office. It updates the January 2025 baseline to account for the One Big Beautiful Bill, tariffs, changes in immigration and other factors. Here are the key numbers:
- $5.6 trillion: The sum the federal government collects in taxes each year (17.5 percent of the nation’s gross domestic product)
- $7.5 trillion: What the government spends (23.3 percent of gdp)
- $1.9 trillion: What the government borrows each year (5.8 percent of gdp)
According to the budget office, the government plans to increase taxes from $5.6 trillion to $8.3 trillion by 2036—but it also plans to increase spending from $7.5 trillion to $11.4 trillion. By that time, the national debt is projected to be $64 trillion.
But did you think about this? President Donald Trump has said he is aware of budget deficits exceeding 6 percent of gdp, but he is not worried because he will “grow” the nation out of debt problems by increasing the overall size of the U.S. economy.
The new congressional projections reveal such thinking as detached from reality.
Do the math: If the national debt grows from $38.7 trillion to $64 trillion in only 10 years, it will rise an average of 5.2 percent per year. The budget office projects that real gdp will grow by 2.2 percent this year, in part due to economic stimulus from the One Big Beautiful Bill, then decrease to 1.8 percent in the near future. Therefore, the national debt will grow at two to three times the rate of the economy.
This is a nation-destroying problem.
In the Bible, God instructed the ancient ancestors of the Americans that obedience to His laws produces blessings and disobedience produces curses. Deuteronomy 28 specifies debt problems as one of these curses. Specifically, God warned that if Israel turned away from Him, strangers would lend them money, but they would not lend to others. This produces debilitating debt.

Canadians: U.S. Is Bigger Threat Than Russia
A Politico poll published yesterday found that nearly half of Canadian respondents consider the United States to be a bigger threat to world peace than Vladimir Putin’s dictatorship.
Politico surveyed 2,096 Canadian adults between February 6 and 9 and found:
- 48 percent think the U.S. is a bigger threat than Russia.
- 57 percent think it is better to depend on China than on the U.S.
- 58 percent think the U.S. is an unreliable ally.
- 69 percent think President Trump is actively seeking conflict.
In December, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney finalized Canada’s entry into the European Union’s Security Action for Europe initiative, making Canada the first non-EU nation to join the $179 billion rearmament program. This partnership allows Canada to reduce its reliance on the U.S.
Is it really that bad? This comes as the Canadian military is working on scenarios for guerrilla warfare in the event of an invasion by the U.S. According to a Globe and Mail exclusive published on January 20, Canada’s armed forces “are considering insurgency tactics similar to those used by the Afghan Mujahideen.”
- Such news coverage may sound sensationalist, but the Bible prophesies in Ezekiel 4 and 5 that the end-time descendants of the biblical patriarchs Manasseh and Ephraim will indeed be afflicted by an economic siege and civil war in the end time. The late Herbert W. Armstrong proved in his book The United States and Britain in Prophecy that these descendants include Australia, Britain, Canada, New Zealand and the United States.
Civil warfare is coming soon to North America.
A companion prophecy in Hosea 5:13 even indicates that the Ephraimite nations (i.e. Australia, Britain, Canada and New Zealand) may reach out to the leader of Assyria (modern-day Germany) for help, but Germany will offer no assistance.
The fact that half of Canadians think Trump’s America is a greater threat than Putin’s Russia at a time when their military is taking a U.S. invasion seriously and its leaders are embracing European military partnerships shows us how close we are to this time of civil war.

Board of Peace makes a move on Gaza: United States President Donald Trump hosted the inaugural Board of Peace meeting yesterday. The board announced that Albania, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Kosovo and Morocco will send peacekeepers to Gaza. All five are Muslim-majority countries, but most are countries Israel has cordial relations with. Indonesia has no diplomatic relations with Israel, but neither is it a historic enemy. Two countries hostile to Israel, Qatar and Turkey, have considered sending peacekeepers, but Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu appears to have convinced Trump and his board to forgo this for now. The Board of Peace appears to be progressing in its goals for Gaza, but this is illusory.
Estonia to host nuclear weapons? Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna stated on Wednesday that Estonia is willing to host nato nuclear weapons. His comment comes after Polish President Karol Nawrocki floated the idea of Poland developing nuclear weapons earlier this week and amid discussions between Germany and France regarding a European nuclear arsenal independent of the United States.
France and Algeria repair their relationship: France and Algeria agreed to restore security cooperation on Tuesday following a visit by French Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez, another indication that two years of strain in their relationship is easing. Algeria is important to France and Europe as a supplier of natural gas and as a strategic location to advance European interests in northern Africa.
Russia joins Iranian naval drills: Iran and Russia held “anti-terrorism and vessel protection operations” yesterday in the Gulf of Oman. According to Iranian Rear Adm. Hassan Maghsoudlou, its aim was “to enhance security and sustainable maritime interactions in the Gulf of Oman and northern Indian Ocean.” The drills come amid Iran’s temporary shutdown of the Strait of Hormuz for live-fire naval exercises and are designed as responses to the deployment of two U.S. Navy aircraft carrier strike groups to the region. Iran’s aggressive assertion of its control over the strategically important Gulf of Oman with Russia’s help will further provoke Europe to get involved in the region.
Confirmed: U.S. withdrawing all forces from Syria: Citing administration officials, the Wall Street Journal reported yesterday that the 12-year presence of U.S. forces in Syria will officially end in the next two months. The Bible prophesied that America’s influence over Syria would deteriorate. The U.S. withdrawal clears the way not only for Syria’s new Islamist regime to consolidate power but for a new, imperialistic power.
