Europe’s Upcoming Generation of EU Patriots
Europe’s Upcoming Generation of EU Patriots
Good morning!
Europe’s youth are turning into pro-Europe patriots, with record numbers yearning for a strong Continent-wide superstate, a Politico report from yesterday argues. Polls highlight the trend, as does a growing flood of social media posts viewed billions of times in which “the EU isn’t a fractious club of 27 countries but a juiced-up superpower on par with China or the United States, only wiser and more cultured.”
Though mostly anecdotal, the article provides a fascinating glimpse into youthful enthusiasm for political and military unity, patriotism, bravado and condescension toward America and other nations, as one would expect based on the Bible’s prophecies of Europe’s future.
Politico quotes foreign-policy analyst Joseph de Weck as saying that while mainstream media and politicians are fretting over the rise of the far right, the reality is that these groups aren’t anti-European: “The big political fight in coming years won’t be over whether to dismantle the European Union, he argues, but over which version of a more federalist bloc will prevail.”
Though most of Europe’s current leaders aren’t yet on board, tomorrow’s voters increasingly want a strong EU army, an ambitious and even imperialistic foreign policy, and an overarching European strongman commanding the whole scene. Prophecy shows they are going to get their wish and more—for a brief, heady burst.
Postwar Germany’s chancellery was riddled with Nazis: Two thirds of Germany’s first post-Nazi chancellery were former Nazis, according to a study published earlier this year and highlighted this weekend by the Times of Israel. It emphasizes a prophetically significant reality the Trumpet and the Plain Truth before us have pointed to for decades.
Over the last 15 years, German government departments have commissioned historians to study and document the Nazi and supposedly post-Nazi era. The results all tell the same story:
- Former Nazis were present in large numbers.
- Staff who had worked for the Nazis claimed they were never enthusiastic supporters and had worked behind the scenes to stop Adolf Hitler. Those were lies.
“The Chancellery: West German Democracy and the Nazi Past” found that of the 50 people born before 1918 and hired to work for the first postwar chancellor, Konrad Adenauer, only three had resisted the Nazis.
Times of Israel showcased many of the most shocking revelations this weekend. Adenauer built postwar Germany, with the help of:
- Lawyers who implemented the anti-Semitic Nuremberg laws
- Civil servants who helped the German state take the property of Jews murdered in the Holocaust
- Journalists and filmmakers who made propaganda under Josef Goebbels
Hans Globke wrote the book on how to apply the Nuremberg laws. He drafted the 1939 law mandating that all Jews adopt the names “Israel” or “Sara.” He then helped apply these laws in Germany’s conquered territories and admitted that he knew the Holocaust was happening. After the war, he became Adenauer’s right-hand man.
Adenauer’s head of press office made movies for Goebbels. His speech writer edited one of Goebbels’s newspapers.
The Times of Israel article stated that evidence of Nazis in the chancellery was obvious for decades:
- A 1965 memo said Nazis were commonly portrayed as bad guys thanks to “the type of Jewish liberal who has great influence in the modern communications industry.”
- The press office and German embassies were more concerned with “the image of the perpetrators, not the perspective of the victims.” As such, they tried to stop Wehrmacht soldiers from being negatively portrayed in the media.
“We don’t understand German thoroughness,” warned Herbert W. Armstrong on May 9, 1945. “From the very start of World War ii, they have considered the possibility of losing this second round, as they did the first—and they have carefully, methodically planned, in such eventuality, the third round—World War iii! Hitler has lost. This round of war, in Europe, is over. And the Nazis have now gone underground. … They plan to come back and to win on the third try.”
He was right. Nazis thoroughly infiltrated the German intelligence and law enforcement agencies, as well as the judiciary. They even actively helped fellow Nazis infiltrate other departments or escape war crimes trials. This is a well-established, provable fact. Mr. Armstrong’s insight, based on Bible prophecy, has been confirmed by historian after historian.
Yet no one seems concerned with what this says about the modern Germans. Donald Trump is encouraging them to lead nato and become a war machine once again. Is it wise to trust a German state so thoroughly infiltrated right from its foundations?
Our article “The Nazi Underground—Revealed!” has more on this infiltration, explains why Mr. Armstrong made his dramatic forecast, and shows what this truth means for the modern world.
Horatio Nelson? Never heard of him: Three quarters of young Britons don’t know who Adm. Horatio Nelson was, a poll released last month by the Foundation for the History of Totalitarianism found. It is one bit of evidence exposing why Britain has lost its national cohesion and pride.
- The poll of 2,000 people showed that only 25 percent of Britons ages 18 to 24 “heard of and know about” the British naval war hero.
- Just over a third of young people (36 percent) know about the Battle of Waterloo, which ended in Napoleon’s defeat.
Young people know more about the history of other countries than they do about major events in British history. A majority (61 percent) said they knew about Julius Caesar and the French Revolution. History teachers are spending more time teaching about other countries than about significant individuals and events in British history.
Admiral Nelson symbolizes Britain’s innovation in warfare, resilience against threats, and the foundations of its former global power. Being disconnected from such history, today’s young people lack inspirational role models that teach virtues like leadership, courage, duty and personal sacrifice for a larger cause.
Britain’s story is one of the most inspiring in human history. The nation’s youths, and the nation itself, are poorer for their ignorance. Learning about significant individuals and events in national history would help them appreciate the sacrifices made for the freedoms they enjoy and aspire to develop the character necessary to maintain those freedoms. Read “A Law of History” in Gerald Flurry’s book The Former Prophets.

Jimmy Lai conviction confirms China’s grip on Hong Kong: Hong Kong media mogul Jimmy Lai was convicted yesterday of publishing seditious material and “colluding with foreign forces,” and now faces possible life in prison. His only real “crime” was criticizing the Chinese Communist Party (ccp) and its unlawful repression of Hong Kong. Thus, the verdict confirms that the ccp now rules Hong Kong as fully and repressively as the mainland. When Britain handed Hong Kong over to Chinese rule in 1997, the ccp pledged not to interfere with its economic, political and judicial autonomy for at least 50 years. But in the early 2000s, the regime began a creeping oppression that culminated in the 2020 passage of a national security law permitting the ccp to prosecute any Hong Konger seen as insufficiently submissive to the Party. The conviction rate in ccp courts is higher than 99.9 percent. Lai’s conviction exemplifies China’s use of politicized law to crush dissent and signals that the world is sliding into a darker, more authoritarian era.
China harasses and injures Filipino fishermen: The Chinese Coast Guard blasted water cannons at Filipino fishermen in Philippine waters on Friday, injuring several and destroying two boats. The belligerence occurred near Sabina Shoal in the South China Sea, which lies well within the Philippines’ exclusive economic zone. China ignores international law and claims almost the entire South China Sea, including this Philippine region. China’s Communist regime is using repeated threats and violence in a dangerous attempt to assert full control over this key maritime region. “China is intimidating the nations of Southeast Asia into submission to its will,” Gerald Flurry wrote in 2016. “It is forcing these countries to do what it wants. Everything is headed in the direction of war.”
Europeans promise Ukraine ‘multinational force’: Yesterday the leaders of Denmark, Germany, France, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Finland, Norway, Sweden, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and the European Union published a statement of Europe’s position on a possible resolution to the war in Ukraine. The provisions include a European-led “multinational force Ukraine,” supported by the U.S., that “will assist in the regeneration of Ukraine’s forces, in securing Ukraine’s skies, and in supporting safer seas, including through operating inside Ukraine.” Russia is unlikely to agree to such a force, so the statement seems intended as a show of solidarity. It will prolong negotiations and the war. Before the statement was published, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov told Rossiya 1, “The Europeans are playing their own game. It still looks like they want the war to continue.” Germany has an interest in continuing the war, which it could have prevented early on. As Mr. Flurry wrote in 2023: “I believe Germany has already given Ukraine to Russia in a secret deal.”
The Czech Republic is expected to move its embassy to Jerusalem next year, according to an anonymous official, Jewish News Syndicate reported today. New Czech Foreign Minister Petr Macinka stated at a Hanukkah event in Prague, “I personally am very much looking forward … to be present when one of the symbols of solidarity becomes the fact that the Czech Republic finally moves its embassy to Jerusalem. It should have been there a long time ago.” Israelis and Czechs had close relations even during the days of Czechoslovakia, but the new Czech prime minister, Andrej Babiš, may not stay friendly. See what to watch for in this relationship in “Introducing Europe’s Eastern Strongmen.”
Trump scolds Netanyahu: Israel assassinated top Hamas commander Raed Saad in Gaza over the weekend, and Axios reports that U.S. President Donald Trump told Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu he was jeopardizing the Israel-Hamas ceasefire. One U.S. official told Axios: “The White House message to Netanyahu was: ‘If you want to ruin your reputation and show that you don’t abide by agreements, be our guest, but we won’t allow you to ruin President Trump’s reputation after he brokered the deal in Gaza.’” The two leaders portray a public image of unity, but divisions behind the scenes are growing and may soon lead to a break, and to Israel looking for a new ally.
Britain’s Reform party welcomed backing from one of the world’s most prolific pornographic actresses after she proclaimed her support for the party in the Spectator. Tia Billinger obtained global notoriety under her stage name with her shocking sexual stunts, but Danny Kruger, one of Reform’s few members of Parliament, said the party wants “all the support we can get” and that they would not be “judgmental” about supporters. The awful reality is that Britain’s family breakdown is at the root of many of its national problems. A party that makes these kinds of alliances will never be able to give Britain the reform it needs.
