At Least 10 Percent of All U.S. COVID-19 Relief Funds Ended Up Stolen or Wasted
About 10 percent of the $4.2 trillion the United States government has so far disbursed in covid-19 relief aid has been stolen or wasted, according to an Associated Press analysis. The numbers are sure to grow as investigators dig deeper into thousands of potential schemes, but so far, U.S. Inspector General Michael Horowitz and others have discovered $280 billion in stolen funding and $123 billion in wasted funding.
The U.S. government has charged more than 2,230 defendants with pandemic-related fraud, meaning that this scandal may represent the greatest grift in U.S. history.
Government theft: The government’s hastily-passed covid-19 stimulus packages created a massive opportunity for thieves and fraudsters. Yet $403 billion in stolen and wasted money is just the tip of the iceberg. Thieves may have stolen $403 billion from the U.S. government, but the U.S. government stole more than $5 trillion from the American people.
Monetizing $5.2 trillion in covid relief increases America’s money supply by 27 percent, thereby diluting the dollar’s value and creating the current inflation crisis. Inflation is costing the average American household about $460 per month because the government shut down the economy and handed out trillions of dollars with little oversight.
Transformational weapon: The U.S. government’s reaction to the pandemic crashed the U.S. economy, caused America’s gross domestic product to fall by the biggest percentage since the Great Depression, pushed 22 million Americans into unemployment, and increased the national debt by nearly $10 trillion. It also caused school closures, anxiety, obesity, alcoholism, crime, drug overdoses and suicide, and it gave radical leftists a means of stealing the 2020 presidential election with fraudulent mail-in ballots. The cure has been far worse than the disease itself.
Yet many radical socialists who wanted a catalyst to dismantle a superpower were overjoyed at the opportunities covid-19 presented them. 2 Kings 14:26-27 say that end-time Israel (America and Britain) would suffer a time of bitter affliction. Few things have affected these nations as bitterly as their government’s response to the coronavirus.
