Germany Takes Charge of Milestone Military Exercise

“Air Defender 23,” the largest air force exercises in the history of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, will begin on Monday. It is organized and led by Germany. This is not just a historic moment for nato but also a major turning point in how Germany sees its military responsibility.

More than 10,000 soldiers and 250 aircraft from 25 countries are uniting under German leadership on German soil to fulfill German goals.

“This impressively demonstrates the defense capability of the alliance,” German Air Force Chief of Staff Ingo Gerhartz noted on June 7 at the presentation of the exercise. He stressed Germany’s special responsibility by saying: “We’re in the lead role, and that’s exactly what the partners keep telling me: Why don’t you go—why don’t you do it—especially with your position in Europe?”

Germany’s geographic position, role in nato, military infrastructure and economic strength put the nation in a prime position to take the leading military role. This is a dramatic change for a country that has been hiding behind its past.

“I’m not sure why it’s German-led, to tell you the truth,” United States Gen. Michael Loh told Deutsche Welle. “I know that Germany wanted to lead an exercise to test both its ability to host forces and also its ability to do full nato interoperability.” That’s what Germany wanted, and what it got was the “largest trans-Atlantic movement” of its kind.

The exercise was designed in 2018 by the United States Air Force and the German Luftwaffe. With the Ukraine War, more and more countries have recognized the need for this exercise and have joined it.

As Germany’s leadership grows, America’s leadership declines. In 2021, the U.S. withdrew from Afghanistan. In April, it withdrew from Sudan. In this upcoming military exercise, it has gone from a leader to a contributor.

European nations uniting under German leadership is something the Trumpet watches closely. We could soon see a dramatic transformation of Europe.

In the cover story for the July Trumpet issue, editor in chief Gerald Flurry wrote:

Europe is facing one crisis after another. Its American ally is collapsing socially, financially and militarily. Russia and China are rising. Europe is responding and is about to surge with power! We could see a stunning transformation of Europe before the end of this year!

Your Bible says the new European superpower will be led by 10 kings, all under Germany and a German strongman.

In that article, Mr. Flurry focused on a key prophecy in Revelation 17. Part of this prophecy has already been fulfilled. The stage is now being set for this astonishing prophecy to be fulfilled completely.

This prophecy was written thousands of years ago and proclaimed by the late Herbert W. Armstrong after Germany’s defeat in World War ii. Back then, it looked incredibly unlikely that this prophecy would come to pass, but it’s accuracy is undeniable today.
