‘Twitter Files’ 14: Burying the Nunes Memo

Matt Taibbi released part 14 of the “Twitter Files” on January 12, titled “The Russiagate Lies.” It revolves around the famous memo by Republican Devin Nunes, which outlined the illegitimacy of the fisa warrant and Steele dossier against President Donald Trump.

Calls for the memo to be published publicly led to the hashtag “Release the Memo” going viral. But Democrats blamed this virality on Russian bots. Sen. Dianne Feinstein and Rep. Adam Schiff claimed “Russian influence operations” were responsible.

Very soon, most of the media were calling the Nunes memo “a bad joke.” They all pointed to the same source: an independent contractor called “Hamilton 68.” Within Twitter, they admitted that the hashtag was “organically trending.”

  • Democrats literally invented the story of Russian bots to delegitimize the Nunes memo.
  • They colluded with the media to disparage and lie about Devin Nunes.
  • They ignored all information and data about the lack of Russia bots that refuted their assertions.
