Is the U.S. Ignoring the Warning Signs From Germany?

Germany is urgently preparing for a break from America—and for a double cross.

Germany’s Munich Security Conference in mid-February displayed the growing rift between Germany and the United States. No topic is currently more urgent in German politics than this divide. But while Germany has made diligent preparations for a post-American world, the U.S. is preoccupied with other issues and even continues to celebrate its perceived German-American friendship.

Since the conference, the German people, media and politicians have been busy visualizing a future without the U.S. “Is Germany’s Most Important Relationship Breaking?” Bild.de asked on February 25. Bild, like many other German news outlets, painted a bleak picture of future relations between the two countries.

But the Munich conference’s negative effect on the other side of the Atlantic was short-lived. Bild reported on February 18:

The Americans have traveled to Germany with a huge delegation to the security conference. But when the summit ended on Sunday, the U.S. media drew an icy balance. …

Even the lack of applause for Vice President Mike Pence (59), as he addressed his listeners with greetings from his boss Donald Trump (72), sloshed across the Atlantic. But the incident attracted little attention, because the Americans were too busy with other Trump gossip.

German commentators are worried by the fact that America is not paying enough attention to this colossal shift in relations.

Germans and Americans have a drastically different view of their relationship. According to a 2018 survey by the Körber Foundation and Pew Research, 73 percent of Germans described relations with the U.S. as “somewhat bad” or “very bad,” but 70 percent of Americans said the relations were “somewhat good” or “very good.”

An Allensbach study published in February found that the majority of German citizens believe that the U.S. poses the greatest threat in global politics. On the other hand, most Americans don’t consider Germany a threat at all.

Germany sees the growing rift and is urgently preparing for the break.

Since President Trump’s inauguration, Germany and the U.S. have had major trade disputes. This has led Germany to increase its cooperation with China, sign a trade deal with Japan, make urgent preparations for another trade deal with Latin America, and increase the difficulty for America’s big business to profit on the Continent.

Germany and the U.S. have also had major disputes concerning Europe’s security policy. Germany has been preparing for a European military and has made major headway in upgrading its own military headquarters, consolidating Europe’s arms industry, and combining Europe’s armies. Germany has also begun to question America’s nuclear umbrella and has openly contemplated producing its own nukes.

How is the U.S. responding to all this?

‘Wunderbar Together’

Preoccupied with bashing President Trump, few notice the widening rift. Many in the Democratic Party believe that they will restore the relationship after the current presidency ends. In the meantime, the U.S. is hosting 1,000 events throughout the 50 states to celebrate the German-American friendship. “The Year of German-American Friendship” is meant to show that the countries stand “Wunderbar Together.” The website states:

From October 2018 until the end of 2019, Germany and its deep ties to the U.S. will be on display all across the United States. The campaign Wunderbar Together (“Deutschlandjahr U.S.A.”/The Year of German-American Friendship) will travel across the entire U.S., bringing with it a collection of events and exhibits revolving around business and industry, politics, education, culture and science, to highlight the unique importance of trans-Atlantic relations.

Unsurprisingly, no corresponding events are being held in Germany.

It is important to note that Wunderbar Together is sponsored by Germany. Concerning the event, Germany’s Foreign Office states:

Germany is organizing a Year of Germany in the U.S.A., knowing that the United States and Germany are Wonderful Together—stronger than friends and partners. … Our friendship with the United States means a lot to us, and we know that many people in America see it the same way. That’s why the people stand this year in the focus of the German-American friendship.

Should America trust these reassuring words when dozens of signs are pointing in the opposite direction?

Bible prophecy warns that America’s allies will turn against it.

A Prophesied Double Cross

Ezekiel 23:9 reads: “Wherefore I have delivered her into the hand of her lovers, into the hand of the Assyrians, upon whom she doted.” Under the subhead “German Double Cross,” Trumpet editor in chief Gerald Flurry writes the following in his booklet Ezekiel: The End-Time Prophet:

Ezekiel 23 explains this heinous double cross. Israel is represented by Aholah, and Judah (separated from Israel at that time) is Aholibah (verse 4). Israel (mainly the U.S. and Britain) and Judah (called Israel today) become lovers to the Assyrians, today’s Germans (verses 5-7, 11-12). God then delivers Israel and Judah into the hands of the Germans (verses 9, 22).

Because modern-day Israel (primarily the U.S. and UK) trusts Assyria more than it trusts God, God will allow its punishment to come by way of its lovers. Concerning a parallel prophecy in Hosea, Mr. Flurry notes:

It will not be the enemies of Britain and America that discover their lewdness—but their lovers, such as Assyria.

Britain and America are increasingly aligning themselves with Germany (modern Assyria), and it will be to our downfall—because God is going to bring it about. There will be no more mirth or happiness in our lands.

Isaiah 10:5 refers to Germany as the rod of God’s anger and the staff of His indignation. God is angry with the sins that Israel is committing, and He is sending punishment.

The Trumpet and its predecessor, the Plain Truth, have repeatedly warned about this coming betrayal. But America and Britain refuse to repent and turn to God. Soon, they will face their punishment.

Yet one day, America and Germany will live Wunderbar Together. The Bible is full of wonderful prophecies that speak of the coming reconciliation between Germany and Israel. Isaiah 19 prophesies of a future cooperation between Assyria, Israel and Egypt (verses 23-24). But before that can happen, severe punishment will engulf the world.
