U.S. President Says “I’m Here With You” in Homosexuals’ Fight Against Family
U.S. President Barack Obama praised homosexual activists, and promised to change not only America’s laws but Americans’ hearts and minds in a speech before the world’s largest homosexual political group, the Human Rights Campaign, on Saturday. He supported the Campaign’s fight to promote homosexuality, stating, “I’m here with a simple message: I’m here with you in that fight.”
Mr. Obama stated that he believed those who disagreed with his homosexual agenda were simply wrong. “[T]here’s still laws to change and there’s still hearts to open,” he told the group of homosexual activists. “There are still fellow citizens, perhaps neighbors, even loved ones—good and decent people—who hold fast to outworn arguments and old attitudes; who fail to see your families like their families; who would deny you the rights most Americans take for granted. And that’s painful, and it’s heartbreaking.”
He promised to help homosexuals during his presidency, stating:
My expectation is that when you look back on these years, you will see a time in which we put a stop to discrimination against gays and lesbians—whether in the office or on the battlefield. (Applause.) You will see a time in which we as a nation finally recognize relationships between two men or two women as just as real and admirable as relationships between a man and a woman. (Applause.) You will see a nation that’s valuing and cherishing these families as we build a more perfect union—a union in which gay Americans are an important part. I am committed to these goals. And my administration will continue fighting to achieve them.
“[D]o not doubt the direction we are heading and the destination we will reach,” he said.
I support ensuring that committed gay couples have the same rights and responsibilities afforded to any married couple in this country. I believe strongly in stopping laws designed to take rights away and passing laws that extend equal rights to gay couples. I’ve required all agencies in the federal government to extend as many federal benefits as possible to lgbt families as the current law allows. And I’ve called on Congress to repeal the so-called Defense of Marriage Act and to pass the Domestic Partners Benefits and Obligations Act.
“Day by day, law by law, changing mind by mind,” Mr. Obama promised to bring about a pro-homosexual America.
This speech makes it clear that the U.S. president has signed up to the radical homosexual agenda. In doing so, he claims that he is upholding “the ideals on which this nation was founded.” Nothing could be further from the truth.
In his book The Character of Nations, Angelo Codevilla wrote:
In short, the founders’ generation believed that men’s and women’s interests were complementary, and they saw marriage as the divinely ordained, naturally good way to organize life. George Washington had started his presidency by pointing out that public life must be grounded on private morality. His successor, John Adams, devoted husband of Abigail, was even more specific: The “foundation of national morality must be laid in private families.” He went on to say that children learn the meaning of morality, religion, and respect for law from the habitual fidelity of their parents to one another.
The agenda that the U.S. President is promoting is in fact radically different from the ideals of America’s Founding Fathers. For more information on where this movement is leading, see our article “Radical Social Engineering” from the July Trumpet.
