Peace Impossible, Say Over 80 Percent of Jews

A recent poll marking the 40th anniversary of Jerusalem’s unification indicates Israelis have less hope for peace with Palestinians.

Only 16 percent of Israeli Jews now believe that it is possible to reach genuine peace with the Palestinians, a poll conducted by the Jerusalem Institute for Israeli Studies revealed earlier this month. Down from 20 percent just a year ago, the drop highlights the growing hopelessness among Israelis for a successful resolution to the peace process.

The greatest change of heart came from non-religious Jews, of whom 31 percent thought peace was possible in 2006 while just 21 percent do now.

The same poll revealed, astoundingly, that even though 84 percent of Israeli Jews believed genuine peace was not possible, 57 percent were willing to make concessions on Jerusalem in order to reach a peace agreement.

This massive discrepancy in logic demonstrates that Israel is entering its final chapter: desperation. The majority of Israelis, believing that peace is not possible, are still willing to make concessions with the Palestinians over Jerusalem. They are willing to give up more land for a peace they know will not come.

Biblical prophecy reveals that this hopelessness will soon lead to even more desperate measures.

God has not left the Jews without hope, however. Read our article “There Is Hope for Israel!” to learn the true hope for peace in the Middle East.
