Two weeks ago, OpenAI’s engineers watched an experiment go catastrophically off script.

They had built what they believed was an unbreakable box: an isolated test environment, walled off from the Internet, using what containment security experts call “best practices.” Then they turned two of their newest AI models loose inside it to run a routine evaluation. Here’s what happened next:

• The AI models accomplished a zero-day exploit—taking advantage of a flaw in the software no human programmer had previously discovered and therefore had zero days to fix.
• They then chained several zero-days together, hopping from system to system, until they broke free onto the open Internet.
• Once online, they hunted down and broke into the servers of a rival company, Hugging Face, and stole confidential data.

All this was done so the OpenAI models could cheat on a test within the original “isolated” test environment.

No engineer told them how. No human was in the loop. This is believed to be the first documented case of a frontier AI model independently discovering and chaining real-world attack paths, entirely on its own initiative, to reach a goal its own creators never authorized.

• Security experts say the best human hackers in the world would need weeks, even months, to escape a containment system like this one. The machine did it in a single unsupervised session.

This is not the work of some rogue actor in a basement. This is OpenAI—the most closely watched, most heavily funded artificial intelligence company on Earth.

• Anthropic ceo Dario Amodei admitted recently that top programmers in his industry understand maybe 3 percent of what actually happens inside these systems.

What kind of civilization builds a power it cannot understand, cannot control, and now cannot even contain—and calls it progress?

Bible prophecy warns of a coming day when the nations that trust in advanced weaponry will sound the alarm for war—and no one will be able to answer the call.

“They have blown the trumpet, even to make all ready; but none goeth to the battle …” (Ezekiel 7:14).

Why would soldiers not go to battle? Because the systems they depend on will have already been hacked, hollowed out and turned against them—precisely as we just watched happen, in miniature, to one of the most secure test environments on Earth.

This is not merely a technology story. It is the Genesis 11 story: Mankind is trusting its own cleverness and physical ability to build a tower to protect itself, directly out of its refusal to trust and obey God.

The world is gambling its future on machines it admits it does not understand. This is a gamble mankind cannot win.

Russia: Germany Is Preparing to Build Nuclear Weapons

Germany is conducting “active research and development work” with “a nuclear weapons focus,” the press bureau of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Russia warned on July 20. The report claims “the relevant ministries of one of the key nato states are expressing concern” as well.

Does Germany have a secret nuclear weapons program? This might be one of the rare cases where a Russian government claim is both propaganda and the truth.

• Russia claims that Germany’s allies are concerned about its research “in sensitive areas such as specialized materials science, shock wave physics and nuclear and neutron physics, which involves 30 national universities.”
• The intelligence service claimed that “nato military experts believe that Berlin is capable of independently developing the necessary fissile material within one to three months, and constructing an operational nuclear explosive device within up to one year.”

Germany’s engineering and industrial capacity to produce nuclear weapons is unquestioned, but the speed at which it could transform its civilian capacity into military use is less clear.

A bold claim of the Russian report is that Germany is already actively coordinating a weapons program.

• The claims are unverified, and Russia obviously has an interest in turning its enemies, including its German “frenemy,” against each other. It also wants to talk up the threat from Germany to distract from its own military ambitions and to stoke fear. Nonetheless, the threat is real.

Russia’s press release concludes by pointing to Germany’s “revanchist sentiments” and points back to the Nazis’ effort to create wunderwaffen (wonder weapons). It then asks: “Has history still not taught us anything?!”

Germany is “a country fertile in military surprises,” Winston Churchill once warned. But today, no one seems to warn that Germany could again become a devastating military threat, except Russian propaganda channels.

• While Russia’s statements are often closer to fiction than reality, the Bible warns that Germany’s military ambitions are real and reveals that Germany will use nuclear weapons to shock the world!

Isaiah 6:11 prophesies of a time when cities will “be wasted without inhabitant.” This is an end-time prophecy of a nuclear disaster. In the New Testament, Jesus Christ warned of “great tribulation” and that without His intervention, no man would be saved alive (Matthew 24).

A Look at Britain’s New Government

Andy Burnham became Britain’s new prime minister on Monday. Over the last few days, he has named his new cabinet. Some of the most notable posts include:

Ed Miliband, foreign secretary: During Donald Trump’s first term, Miliband called him “a racist, misogynistic, self-confessed groper.” This means Britain’s new top diplomat already has an awkward relationship with the current U.S. administration—though it’s probably hard for Burnham to find a Labour politician who hasn’t said something rude about Trump to appoint to the job.

• Miliband’s biggest foreign-policy contribution thus far was to save Syrian dictator Bashar Assad in 2013. America and Britain were poised to go to war to oust Assad. Miliband, then leader of the opposition, promised to support it, but when it came to a vote, he changed his mind. Britain had to suddenly reverse course, and the anti-Assad coalition fell apart.
• At least half a million people then died in the Syrian civil war. A bombing campaign or no-fly zone from Britain and America wouldn’t necessarily have stopped that. But Miliband suddenly going back on his word did lasting damage to Britain’s credibility and reliability as an ally.

John Healey, chancellor: Healey served as defense minister under Keir Starmer. He resigned because the government was unwilling to spend what he considered the bare minimum for defense. Now he controls the entire budget, under the prime minister, as chancellor of the exchequer. This could benefit military funding.

• He has a tough job though. Burnham wants tax cuts. But the government is borrowing huge amounts of money. Interest rates are rising and money is tight.

Shaban Mahmood, home secretary: Mahmood kept the same job she held under Starmer. From the right wing of the Labour Party, she has not been Britain’s worst home secretary ever. She’s making small cuts to immigration numbers, but wholesale change will be impossible without withdrawing from the European Convention on Human Rights, something Labour would never countenance.

Wes Streeting, defense secretary: A homosexual is now in charge of Britain’s military. Former British Special Forces commander Richard Williams wrote in the Telegraph today:

The combination of Wes Streeting in the [Ministry of Defense], Chris Bryant as Northern Ireland secretary, Ed Miliband as foreign secretary, Ellie Reeves as the attorney general, and the obviously compliant chief of the defense staff, will most probably lead to the continued feminization and under-resourcing of UK defense.

The lanyard class wants to see the purging of the old, messy, violent men who win wars and to allow the new high-tech, human-rights-compliant, lower-cost substitutes to flourish.

Ultimately, this equates to rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic.

• Miliband is likely to be a terrible foreign minister. But he might be less dangerous there than he was in his previous job as environment minister, where he seemed to delight in making life impossible for British industry and pushing up bills for British citizens.
• The chronic race-baiter David Lammy is out, as is Roger Helmer, the attorney general who used international law to empower Britain’s enemies and attack its own armed forces.

But this doesn’t come close to addressing the scale of the crises Britain faces.

Russia and China deepen naval cooperation: Russia and China incorporated attack submarines into their “Joint Sea–2026” military exercises earlier this month, Asian Military Review reported Wednesday. This is the first time submarines are known to have operated as part of the annual drills, demonstrating deepening trust in a sensitive area as these two Asian giants prepare to make war together.

The Netherlands to imprison citizens for buying from Israeli settlements. The government of the Netherlands announced yesterday that, starting on September 22, Dutch citizens who purchase any Israeli-made products originating in the West Bank or the Golan Heights can be punished with up to six years in prison or a fine of up to $117,000.

Is Trump joining another war? The Trump administration is reportedly considering plans to strike Islamic terrorist groups in Mali, the Washington Post reported yesterday. Mali faces a crippling terrorist problem, and former U.S. officials cited by the Post claimed the U.S. is considering attacks on al-Qaeda-affiliated groups Jama’at Nusrat al-Islam wal-Muslimin. If the U.S. military intervenes in Mali, it will be the eighth nation President Trump has targeted since his return to the presidency in January 2025. President Trump does not know the way to peace. The Bible alone holds the key to solving Mali’s terrorist problem.

Poll: Fewer MAGA voters support Iran war: A Politico survey of 2,065 American adults conducted from July 12 to 15 suggests only 37 percent of self-identified “Make America Great Again” voters believe President Donald Trump should continue the war against Iran even if it increases the cost of living in America. This is down from 50 percent from a similar poll in May.
