President Trump promises to make America great again. But if you believe the prophecies of the Bible, you will understand why no politician can make America “great again.” Only God can do that—and it must be done His way.

Thankfully, He has given us ironclad promises that He absolutely will do so!

President Trump has correctly identified many problems in America and promised to fix them. God even used him to save America temporarily (2 Kings 14:26-27). But the president has failed to give God credit. Perhaps America’s greatest sin is ingratitude to God for making America great! President Trump is no exception.

We are now heading toward the ultimate disaster: a coming nuclear holocaust and, for those who survive, a prophesied captivity! All this could be prevented by heartfelt prayer and repentance from our sins. The Bible records devastating prophecies that show us what happens if we fail to do so.

Amos 7, for example, addresses “Jeroboam,” the ancient type of President Trump today. The chapter is about King Jeroboam ii of Israel rejecting God’s message and concludes with God’s warning: “Israel shall surely go into captivity forth of his land.”

It is through this captivity that God will make America great again. Sadly, that horror is what it will take.

Ancient Israel went into captivity for breaking the Sabbath and polluting God’s holy days. We are breaking God’s law today, and we will face the same fate because of our rebellion!

Ezekiel asked the most sobering question of all: “[W]hy will ye die, O house of Israel?” (Ezekiel 33:11). God pleads with our people to repent. But we sleep on!

The kingdom of Judah went into captivity a few generations after Israel did. That is what it took to awaken the Jews. After 70 years, some of them returned to rebuild Jerusalem and the temple. They were teachable and trembled at God’s Word, and they were ready to obey and build for God!

This coming captivity will have the same effect—on a much larger scale.

In Amos 9:14-15, God promises: “I will bring back the captives of My people Israel; They shall build the waste cities and inhabit them; They shall plant vineyards and drink wine from them; They shall also make gardens and eat fruit from them. I will plant them in their land, And no longer shall they be pulled up From the land I have given them” (New King James Version).

Notice: This restoration is not brought about by man, but by God alone.

In those days, “the plowman shall overtake the reaper, And the treader of grapes him who sows seed; The mountains shall drip with sweet wine, And all the hills shall flow with it” (verse 13; nkjv).

No more will weather curses destroy our harvests, nor will inflation consume our increase. Everyone will have his own property and laws to protect it. There will be unprecedented abundance individually and greatness nationally.

The near future holds a lot of bad news, but that is only temporary. In the end it is good news because it is paving the way for Israel to know God! Soon, everyone will be educated in God’s ways and blessed for their obedience!

Anciently, God intended the nation of Israel to be an example and a blessing to all nations, leading the world into a relationship with Him (e.g. Deuteronomy 4:5-8). Though that nation failed, God still intends to accomplish that goal. He still wants Israel’s descendants to fulfill the glorious purpose of serving as a shining example to the world. And one day soon, they will be!

Jeremiah 31:6-7 give us a glimpse into the world after Jesus Christ returns. Here God calls America and Britain “the chief of the nations.” These will be the leading nations in the World Tomorrow!

This chapter pictures God lovingly gathering these people from captivity (verses 8-10), showering them with blessings (verses 12-17), and establishing His new covenant with them (verses 31-34).

Jeremiah 33 also depicts the time after America and Britain have endured the Great Tribulation. God promises to restore their prosperity and make them a positive example. They will become “a praise and an honour before all the nations of the earth, which shall hear all the good that I do unto them: and they shall fear and tremble for all the goodness and for all the prosperity that I procure unto it” (verse 9). Yes, people will be moved to worship God at His outpouring of generosity and love toward these nations!

It is hard to imagine how great America will be. But this much we know: America is going to be great again!

DOJ Cracks Down on Birth Tourism

The United States Justice Department announced Tuesday that it will crack down on “birth tourism,” a practice where aliens come to the U.S. just to have a baby, who then becomes a citizen under the current interpretation of U.S. law.

• This is a response to the Supreme Court striking down an executive order that would have ended birthright citizenship for children of illegal immigrants and temporary visitors.

Birth tourism often involves breaking laws against visa fraud, wire fraud and other crimes. Colin McDonald, a doj official, directed prosecutors to investigate and charge people who lie on visa applications to enter the country specifically for this purpose.

• Estimates suggest 26,000 to 33,000 babies are born each year to mothers visiting on tourist visas, though exact numbers are not tracked.
• The Pew Research Center says nearly 9 percent of the 3.6 million babies born in the U.S. in 2023 had parents who were illegal immigrants or had temporary legal status. This included 245,000 born to parents who were illegal immigrants, and 15,000 born to parent who had temporary legal status.

Federal law limits permanent employment-based immigration to about 140,000 visas per year. This cap gives legal immigrants time to assimilate.

• However, allowing roughly 260,000 such “anchor babies” each year risks fundamentally transforming America’s culture and traditions.
• The Supreme Court’s decision to cement this practice has the Trump administration scrambling for other solutions.

Hosea 7:8-9 prophesy that the modern descendants of ancient Israel (America and Britain primarily) would mix themselves with foreigners and their foreign ideologies. The far-left ideas that are promoted today are not based on foundational American values, which largely come from the Bible. These anti-Bible ideologies were brought here from foreign nations and are subversively devouring America’s strength.

Germany’s Real Aim in South America

German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul is concluding a four-day South American tour in Brazil today. Germany strengthening its relationship with South America may seem inconsequential, but prophecy shows it is a troubling sign for North America.

• On Monday, Wadephul briefly visited the United States, where he discussed the Strait of Hormuz, the upcoming nato summit and Ukraine with Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
• He then attended the mercosur summit on Tuesday in Paraguay, focusing on the EU-mercosur (a bloc comprised of Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay) trade deal signed in January. Although it came into provisional effect on May 1, the deal has yet to be fully ratified in the EU. Wadephul said Germany aims to be one of the first EU member nations to ratify it and said ratification will bring “political partnership to an even higher level.”

Germany is deeply interested in South America’s natural resources.

• The next day, Wadephul signed a declaration of intent with Argentina for further cooperation in mining and raw materials. Argentina is rich in lithium, copper, gold and other minerals.
• He then visited Brazil on Thursday, where he attended a meeting of the German Chamber of Commerce Abroad in São Paulo in which opportunities from the EU-mercosur trade deal were discussed. He also visited a Volkswagen plant and appealed to German-language students at São Paulo’s Goethe Institute to work in Germany. He’s scheduled to meet with his Brazilian counterpart today.

German interest in Latin America points to biblical prophecy that should concern us all. The nation’s role in end-time events is spelled out plainly, and it includes aggressively exploiting and even subjugating other nations for the resources needed for its imperial ambitions.

• As Trumpet publisher Gerald Flurry warned following the EU-mercosur deal’s signing, “Latin American countries will become vassal states of Europe! The mercosur countries possess resources Europe needs.”

We need this prophetic context for an accurate perspective on Wadephul’s visit and other signs of Germany’s quest to strengthen trade relations with South American nations.

Artificial Life? Scientists Claim Breakthrough in Synthetic Cell

Scientists at the University of Minnesota have created a synthetic cell that can feed, grow and replicate in a manner similar to natural cells. In their scientific paper published on Wednesday, synthetic biologist Kate Adamala and her colleagues claim it’s the most life-like artificially created cell yet. The study has yet to undergo peer review.

• However, the synthetic cell isn’t nearly as advanced as the simplest cell in the human body and can only function in a highly controlled environment.
• It isn’t “life created in the lab,” but it is a “genuine milestone on the road to toward that question,” said Yuval Elani, an associate professor in biochemical technologies at Imperial College London.

“The creation is a limited and fragile prototype,” cnn wrote, “but it could help scientists better understand the origins of life and could potentially be programmed to help mitigate some of the world’s biggest biological problems.”

The experiment should teach mankind that “the origins of life” was not a random act of chance in the universe but required a designer of intelligence far superior to humans.

The marvel of the cell: “The human body has 37 trillion cells, more than the number of stars in the sky, and scientists still don’t know how every different cell type works or what exactly they contain,” cnn wrote.

Mankind seeks to recreate this marvel and thus unlock life itself. But as we wrote in “Superfluous Splendor”:

[T]he sophistication within every cell points not to blind chance but to transcendent intelligence beyond space and time. … Even the simplest living cell brims with vast quantities of functionally specified, complex information. Nucleotide sequences function like sophisticated software, directing the assembly of intricate molecular machines—tiny motors, pumps and factories working with awe-inspiring precision.

The more sophisticated our understanding of the sophisticated cell becomes, the deeper should be our appreciation for its Designer and Creator.
