America Has Passed ‘Peak Gay’

America Has Passed ‘Peak Gay’

America Has Passed ‘Peak Gay’

By Joel Hilliker • January 30, 2026

Good morning!

It turns out, people dislike having perverted sex shoved in their faces all the time.

Receive a free news briefing in your inbox each weekday—the Trumpet Brief.

A massive, years-long study showed that from 2007 to 2020, “bias” against homosexual, bisexual and transgender people was dropping steadily in America. In the New York Times, study author Tessa Charlesworth and fellow Northwestern professor Eli Finkel explained:

In the two decades before 2020, visibility, recognition and legal inclusion of gays and lesbians progressed in lockstep—larger and more prominent pride parades, rainbow-lit landmarks, federal legalization of same-sex marriage. That progress translated into something remarkable: Americans’ bias against gay people declined faster than any other bias ever tracked in social surveys.

Of course these authors frame disagreement with sexual perversions that destroy family and society as “bias,” but we continue.

From 2021 to 2024, the trend unexpectedly reversed, and people’s attitudes against homosexuals rose 10 percent. The shift was most dramatic among adults under age 25. And “although anti-gay bias has risen faster among conservatives, it has also risen among liberals,” the authors stated.

“This reversal stunned us,” these authors, who are both homosexual, wrote. They proposed two possible reasons for the shift: 1) a backlash against transgenderism; and 2) “the rise in moral panic language about sexual grooming, the notion that gay adults are recruiting or influencing children to become gay.”

They might be on to something there! A radical sexual perversion movement that once promised to “live and let live” has been exposed as explicitly evangelistic, actively seeking converts. Its propaganda has infiltrated children’s entertainment and preschool and elementary education. It has grown increasingly bold and punitive in the workplace against dissenters. It has a stranglehold on politics to shape public policy, even in opposition to voters’ express wishes. In 2008, justices on California’s State Supreme Court unilaterally recognized same-sex “marriage.” Voters responded by passing the legally binding Proposition 8 to make the state’s Constitution define marriage exclusively between one man and one woman. State government then clapped back, and the courts refused to accept the election results.

It seems many Americans have had enough. Their willingness to speak up has particularly grown during President Trump’s second term. His efforts to reverse the ascendancy of transgenderism have been very welcome—though his administration is stunningly favorable to homosexuals.

The advantages of marriage and family as God created them are extremely well documented. Furthermore, they reveal the very purpose and potential for human beings! The more we depart from that beautiful creation and break those laws of cause and effect, the more we suffer consequences and curses. More people appear to be recognizing this. But it will take determined effort to reverse the decades-long trend of redefining family.

Will Trump Make the Fed Great Again?

Donald Trump has repeatedly castigated Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell for not slashing interest rates, calling him a “major loser” and a “numbskull.” He had tried to push Powell out early, but now that Powell’s term is concluding anyway, the president announced this morning his pick for a replacement: Kevin Warsh.

If the goal is to “own the libs,” it worked. During President Trump’s first term, the Washington Post ran a story titled “How to Be Wrong About Almost Everything and Maybe Be Fed Chair Anyway: The Kevin Warsh Story.”

  • They hated him because Warsh was a fiscal hawk, wanted to raise interest rates over fear of inflation, and called for “regime change” at the Federal Reserve—but generally because he believed the Fed hadn’t worried enough about inflation.

At first glance, he seems to be the exact opposite of what President Trump is looking for.

Warsh has recently changed some of his rhetoric on interest rates, leading some to accuse him of selling out his principles in an effort to win what could be Trump’s most consequential nomination this term.

The reality is more nuanced. Since 2008, America has launched a massive, unprecedented experiment: quantitative easing. This means creating trillions of dollars from thin air. It’s basically like money printing, except the newly created money can be destroyed at a later date.

  • That is Warsh’s plan: Take massive quantities of this new money back out of circulation, which should keep inflation under control and enable the lowering of interest rates.

There’s a lot to like about the plan. Quantitative easing pushed asset and stock prices up, helping the rich get richer and staving off a collapse in the stock market. But high interest rates have made it harder for ordinary Americans, especially when it comes to obtaining a mortgage. Quantitative easing clearly threw the entire economy further out of balance. It needs fixing.

But there could be one huge obstacle. The money created by the Federal Reserve was used mostly to buy U.S. treasuries—in other words, it was loaned to the federal government. Getting rid of all that extra money requires selling U.S. treasury bonds, lowering their value and making it much harder for the U.S. government to borrow money.

Yet President Trump wants to continue borrowing money at record amounts.

Warsh seems to have some sound ideas, but they could be compromised by America’s addiction to debt.

Finance, like all areas of human life, is governed by laws of cause and effect. Obey them, and you reap success; disobey them, and you reap curses. Lawbreaking in one area compromises our ability to keep the law in other areas. Someone who steals, for example, will soon find himself lying to cover it up.

America’s debt addiction stems from greed. In the absence of repentance and the keeping of these laws, any plan to restore real strength to the economy will fail, as we explained during Donald Trump’s first term in “The King of Debt.”

High Court Gives U.S. a Win on Panama Canal

Yesterday, the Supreme Court of Panama annulled a contract for a Hong Kong company to operate two ports at either end of the Panama Canal. This is a major geopolitical setback for China and a win for the U.S., especially the Trump administration, which has prioritized countering Chinese influence in the region.

  • CK Hutchison Holdings Ltd. has operated the ports at Balboa and Cristobal since 1997, when the Panama Canal Authority was created. Yet Panamanian Comptroller General Anel Flores filed a lawsuit against the Panama Canal Authority on July 30, 2025, apparently in response to U.S. President Donald Trump’s complaints about Chinese influence.

The U.S. ceded the Panama Canal in 1999 on the condition that Panama would remain neutral. But Panama sided with America’s enemies, most notably with the port concession contracts that gave Communist China interests on either end of the Western Hemisphere’s most important maritime passage.

“If the principles, both moral and legal, of this magnanimous gesture of giving are not followed, then we will demand that the Panama Canal be returned to us, in full, and without question,” President Trump posted to social media on Dec. 21, 2024, one of several statements making the Panama Canal a major issue again. “To the officials of Panama, please be guided accordingly.” Pressure from Trump likely influenced the lawsuit and the Supreme Court’s decision.

In 2021, Gerald Flurry warned that allowing Chinese corporate giant Hutchison Whampoa, which was “an ideological clone of the Chinese Communist Party,” to take over the U.S.-constructed ports of the canal was a grave mistake. For this company to be kicked out, weakening China’s foothold, seems a major victory for President Trump and for America.

In the March 2025 Trumpet, Mr. Flurry wrote:

The fact that President Trump is speaking out so forcefully about this is truly fascinating. China really has made itself into a superpower—in some ways more powerful than the United States. But biblical prophecy indicates that China is probably going to be knocked down a bit, and it is possible that this will be a factor in that happening.

We don’t know yet how this will all work out. Challenging the United States in its own backyard could end up diminishing China’s power. It would be a real loss for China to lose control of the Panama Canal, yet that might just happen.

God might give this gate back to America. I would not be shocked to see that happen because of all the miracles that took place during Donald Trump’s political campaign. Remember the first assassination attempt on his life, when he miraculously turned the right way at the right moment and the bullet only grazed his ear. Many people believe that God had a hand in that, and He did!

Bible prophecy even tells you that this man would war his way back (2 Kings 14:28). Will this warring include the recovery of the Panama Canal?

The Panamanian Supreme Court’s recent decision shows that some of the curses America has been suffering for years are being paused or reversed under the Trump administration. This pause is divine grace and a chance for the nation, not to trust in its own power but to repent toward God for the sins that have weakened it—before the world turns viciously against America and God allows national punishment for its sins to hit home. IN OTHER NEWS

Hamas isn’t disarming: The deputy chairman of the Hamas Political Bureau, Moussa Abu Marzouk, said on January 28 that Hamas never agreed to disarm. “We haven’t discussed the weapons yet; no one has spoken to us directly about it,” he told Al Jazeera. “We haven’t spoken with the American side or the mediators on this issue.” Yet the American side is continuing to push Israel to fulfill its obligations under the second phase of the Donald Trump and Steve Witkoff-brokered ceasefire. Marzouk repeatedly stressed that Hamas controls Gaza and even implied that Hamas could veto the appointment of the Board of Peace director. These comments from a top Hamas official indicate that the Trump administration will be unable to turn its sunny vision for the future of Gaza into reality.

China terminates flights to Japan: Chinese airlines canceled all flights on 49 routes to Japan on January 26, the latest sign of deteriorating relations between the two Asian nations. In November, Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi said her nation may militarily intervene if China tries to seize Taiwan. Chinese leaders responded with threats, export controls, travel warnings to Chinese citizens and even a demand last week for Japan to return its last giant pandas. This week’s cancellation of flights brings China-Japan relations to their lowest point in years. However, the Trumpet expects these two powers to lay aside their differences and join forces in an alliance biblical prophecy terms “the kings of the east.”

Europe’s space industry needs a ‘quantum leap’: European Space Agency Director Josef Aschbacher said on Tuesday that the Continent’s space industry needs “a quantum leap in innovation and technology,” which could be achieved by transforming its “intellectual excellence into industrial scale” as it has done in the aircraft and automotive industries. The esa is looking to incentivize more space start-ups, investment and development. The same day, French Space Minister Philipe Baptiste called for a Europe-wide policy, launchers, satellites and other assets, fully independent of the United States. Alongside other recent comments and developments in which Europe is separating from the U.S. politically and militarily, a “quantum leap” in space for the Europeans could be deadly dangerous for the modern descendants of Israel.

Man drives car into Jewish sect HQ: A man repeatedly rammed his car into the world headquarters of Chabad Lubavitch, a Hasidic Jewish sect, in New York City on Wednesday night, while believers were gathered in prayer to honor the 75th anniversary of the late Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson becoming the movement’s leader. Nobody was hurt, and the motorist has yet to be identified, but investigators said the crash was “intentional.” High-profile anti-Semitic attacks like this are becoming disturbingly common. Intentional targeting of Jews because they are Jews reveals that a deep evil has infected our societies.

A weight-loss drug with enormous side effects: Ozempic has been praised, all the way to the top of the American government, as a solution to America’s obesity problem. But as ZeroHedge reported yesterday, this and other similar drugs have “caused severe, life-altering injuries that were not sufficiently disclosed at the time they were prescribed.” As of this month, 4,400 plaintiffs have lodged legal complaints against the drugs’ manufacturers, Novo Nordisk and Eli Lilly, according to court filings. One individual not only lost weight but also their eyesight after taking the drugs. Others exclaimed that their “colon blew up.” More than 31 million people, 12 percent of American adults, are currently using such glp-1 drugs. Something is deeply wrong with the minds of so many willing to turn to such unnatural and dangerous solutions rather than learning and keeping the health laws of their Creator.

Redefining Family
There is a deadly deceit behind same-sex ‘marriage’—and it revolves around man’s most inspiring hope.
China’s Dangerous Move Against America
Americans are realizing that China is a dangerous threat. But you probably won’t guess its deadliest anti-U.S. stroke.
Russia and China in Prophecy
America’s status as the world’s lone superpower is rapidly fading. Other nations and groups of nations are angling to fill the void. Rising in the East is an emerging power bloc of tremendous potential—in manpower, economic heft and military might. Its growing presence is intensifying global competition for resources and for geopolitical influence. Where will this trend lead? You can know! Biblical prophecy provides a remarkable, penetrating preview of Asia’s future!
