Why the Pressure Keeps Rising on Israel

By Richard Palmer • September 16, 2025

Israel’s ground invasion of Gaza City has begun, the Israel Defense Forces confirmed yesterday. Meanwhile, Hamas allies at the United Nations are stepping up their attempts to turn the world against Israel.

Will Israel’s strength be spent in vain?

Receive a free news briefing in your inbox each weekday—the Trumpet Brief.

Hamas says it has brought its October 7 hostages out of the tunnels and above ground, which exposes them to Israeli fire. The IDF claims that 300,000 Palestinians have evacuated Gaza City for humanitarian zones, but hundreds of thousands remain.

Meanwhile, a United Nations commission found Israel guilty of committing genocide in Gaza.

  • The commission claims Israel has violated four out of the five genocidal acts defined under international law: killing members of a group, causing them serious bodily and mental harm, deliberately inflicting conditions calculated to destroy the group, and preventing births.

Even by the UN’s standards, there are many problems with this report. The UN’s International Court of Justice is already investigating Israel for these very charges and still hasn’t released a verdict. The UN isn’t sure the court will reach the “right” decision, so it jumped the gun.

To prove Israel is committing genocide against Palestinians by “preventing births,” the commission cites a 2023 strike that damaged a fertility clinic. Over the subsequent two years, the idf has occupied additional territory—and the Gaza population has grown.

The campaign is expected to last about six months and could be the last major operation Israel conducts before it vanquishes Hamas. “If Israel wants to survive, IT MUST WIN THAT WAR!” Gerald Flurry wrote in our April issue. Israel has boldly confronted evil, but the closer it comes to victory, the more it is pressured to compromise.

After the explosion of evil during the October 7 massacre, Mr. Flurry wrote that Hamas and its fighters “are inspired by Satan the devil, who hates human beings, and especially hates Jews.” The brutal horror of that attack inspired others to make similar statements. “This is important to realize; otherwise you will not grasp the significance of what has happened in the Jewish state of Israel,” he wrote.

The devil always wants men to compromise with evil. That is why the pressure is rising on Israel to give up the fight. So far, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has not buckled. His stand “teaches all mankind powerful lessons about what it takes to overcome evil” (“Netanyahu: Israel’s Rising Lion”).

Trump announces crackdown on crime in Memphis: Now that President Trump’s crackdown on crime in Washington, D.C., is underway, he is setting his sights on other cities, including Memphis, Tennessee.

  • On Monday, President Trump joined Tennessee Governor Bill Lee to announce the establishment of a task force to take on crime in Memphis. President Trump shelved similar plans for Chicago after he met opposition from Illinois state officials, but Governor Lee is more cooperative and is overruling objections by Memphis Mayor Paul Young.

After emphasizing the city’s carjackings, robberies, shootings and other crimes, President Trump said, “We’re not going to allow this kind of savagery to destroy our society anymore. We’re going to take care of all of them step by step, just like we did in D.C. We have virtually no crime in D.C. right now, and we’re going to keep it that way.”

The Memphis Task Force replicates the D.C. force, involving the National Guard, Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Department of Justice, the Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

In America Under Attack, Gerald Flurry explains that 2 Kings 14:26-28 is a prophecy about how an end-time Jeroboam figure will lead a temporary resurgence in America. The plummeting crime rates in Washington, D.C., are part of this temporary resurgence, and cities like Memphis may also benefit from lower crime rates as President Trump exerts authoritative and even “kingly” power.

Yet Amos 7:9 specifies that if America does not repent of its sins, the resurgence will end and the “high places of Isaac shall be desolate.” Another prophecy in Ezekiel 5:12 reveals that one third of the populations of America and Britain will die from pestilence, famine and violence resulting from civil war if these nations do not repent. If America addresses its deep problems by using troops and agents only instead of repenting, the crime problem will come back with a vengeance.

German arms giant Rheinmetall took an important step toward becoming a naval powerhouse on Sunday, announcing plans to take over a major German warship manufacturer. Rheinmetall currently manufactures various weapons systems for use on ships, but it doesn’t build the ships themselves—yet. Soon they’ll be able to offer the complete naval package.

Rheinmetall will acquire Naval Vessels Lürssen, the military division of the Lürssen Group shipyard, early next year for an estimated €1.5 to €2 billion, if approved by authorities.

“[W]e are creating a vital German powerhouse for state-of-the-art vessels,” said Rheinmetall CEO Armin Papperger. “Rheinmetall intends to meet the massive increase in demand from naval forces,” states their press release.

Naval Vessels Lürssen started out making rowing boats in 1875 and later partnered with Gottlieb Dimler to build the world’s first powerboat. By World War I, it was making patrol boats and fast attack craft, and by the 1930s it was making warships for the Nazis. After the war, its leadership remained in place, and it continued developing warships, as well as luxury yachts. Naval Vessels Lürssen now includes Blohm+Voss, the shipyard that built Germany’s most famous World War II battleship, the Bismarck, along with many U-boats.

Their shipyards have built over 1,000 ships for over 50 navies and coast guards.

The takeover will give Germany another major naval champion alongside Thyssenkrupp Marine Systems, due to be spun off from its parent company later this year.

“Germany’s great industrial power is being rapidly transformed for military purposes,” wrote Mr. Flurry in our latest Trumpet magazine. “Germany is already Europe’s largest military spender, but it is only at the beginning of a frightening military transformation.” Watch for Germany to build defense giants that can compete with the United States. It’s an important step in Germany’s preparations for World War III.

Tens of thousands protested in Turkey ahead of an impending court ruling to oust the leader of the opposition Republican People’s Party. The court delayed the ruling, but Turkey’s political crisis continues to boil. Watch for Mr. Flurry’s “Turkey Is Going to Betray America” in the newest Trumpet issue—to be published online tomorrow. The U.S. struck a second cartel boat from Venezuela, this time with three people aboard, who were killed. President Trump announced yesterday, “The strike occurred while these confirmed narcoterrorists from Venezuela were in international waters transporting illegal narcotics (A DEADLY WEAPON POISONING AMERICANS!) headed to the U.S.” Barack Obama enabled Venezuela to partner with other enemies of America. With this deadly strike, Trump is escalating efforts to clear out the mess.

AfD politicians came to the White House this week and met with officials of the Trump administration: Beatrix von Storch, the Alternative für Deutschland’s deputy leader, and Joachim Paul, a member who was recently barred from running for mayor. The U.S. administration is highlighting the lack of freedom of speech and other democratic principles in Germany, but the AfD also promotes deeply troubling positions on German history.

President Trump cannot fire Federal Reserve governor Lisa Cook, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit said in an emergency ruling Monday. The 2-1 decision, along party lines, ruled that since the Federal Reserve Act allows such firings only “for cause,” President Trump cannot remove Cook for mortgage fraud since she has not been officially convicted. The case highlights the growing division between Republicans and Democrats over the monstrous and growing national debt.

British young people are not going outside, a study of 2,000 British adults revealed today. Two thirds of Gen Z and 57 percent of Millennials said they sometimes stay indoors for days at a time. Screen time was the biggest reason cited. Yesterday’s Morning Brief showed the dangerous role online gaming played in radicalizing Charlie Kirk’s murderer. Millions of young people clearly need to take a walk!
