Congress Votes in One Big, Beautiful Bill, Supreme Court Backs Trump, Witkoff to Resume Negotiations With Iran
Happy July 4 to our American readers. America is a nation founded on many biblical principles, and it has a history with God—a history worth celebrating. For our main story today, we dug out an article from our archives on the important aspects of this history: “Founded on a Rock.”
The One Big, Beautiful Bill is complete. Congress voted 218 to 214 to pass the bill yesterday. The bill makes President Trump’s 2017 tax cuts permanent, gives him the funds to continue deporting migrants, cuts spending on green initiatives—and is projected to add $3.4 trillion to the national debt over the next decade. President Trump will sign it into law this evening. After covering this almost every day, I don’t have much more to say on it—but have a look at Andrew Miiller’s article from yesterday: “America’s Debt Is at a Breaking Point”
The Supreme Court backed President Trump once again yesterday, allowing the administration to deport criminal aliens to South Sudan. This is related to their ruling a week and a half ago, allowing criminal aliens to be sent to countries they have no prior connection with. It solves the problems of criminals whose home country refuses to accept them back. Rather than drain tax dollars indefinitely, they can be deported to countries like South Sudan who are willing to accept them.
On June 23, the Supreme Court overruled District Judge Brian Murphy on the issue. However, Murphy claimed that the case of eight migrants who were stuck in Djibouti after their deportation to South Sudan had been paused were subject to a separate order. Yesterday, the Supreme Court overruled him, saying the June 23 ruling applied to their case as well. They stated the obvious: Murphy cannot “enforce an injunction that our stay rendered unenforceable.”
It’s not an earthshaking story, but it illustrates the way district judges are still trying to thwart the president at every turn. The Supreme Court’s speedy response also illustrates how Bible prophecy that the court would favor President Trump is being fulfilled.
White House envoy Steve Witkoff will resume negotiations with Iran next week, Axios reported, citing two anonymous sources. U.S. and Israeli officials believe Iran’s 60 percent enriched uranium is sealed inside one of Iran’s underground facilities—and that Iran will be able to access it again once it has cleared the rubble. President Trump is looking at negotiation to stop Iran turning that uranium into a bomb.
It is amazing that President Trump hasn’t yet learned that Iran cannot be negotiated out of its nuclear problem; it can only be stopped by force. Despite some commendable strength in backing Israel in its war with Iran, President Trump still clearly does not understand the way to peace.
