Three Arrested in Germany for Russian Sabotage
German authorities said Wednesday they had arrested three pro-Russia Ukrainians in Germany on suspicion of conspiring with Moscow to mail packages containing explosives to Ukraine.
Western officials decried the foiled attack as part of a widespread Russian sabotage campaign to destabilize Western Europe and undermine support for Ukraine.
Campaign of sabotage: The Associated Press reported that West European officials have alleged 59 incidents were acts of Russian sabotage since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022. These incidents include acts of arson, severing undersea cables, explosions at dhl hubs in Germany, serious cyberattacks and plotted killings.
- A yearlong investigation found the Russian secret service responsible for a fire that destroyed Poland’s largest shopping center in Warsaw last year, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced on Sunday.
- France has fallen victim to large-scale Russian espionage, sabotage and cyberattacks jeopardizing its national security, according to an intelligence report obtained by French media outlet L’Express and published on May 13.
In November, the head of Britain’s foreign intelligence service denounced Russia for its “staggeringly reckless” sabotage campaign against Ukraine’s Western allies.
Fear of Russia: Bible prophecy shows that Russian aggression will be a major factor prompting the nations of Europe to unite and militarize. Russia’s war on Ukraine has already frightened Europeans into taking many dramatic steps toward that end. Russian sabotage in nations across Europe will likely accelerate this trend.
