Venezuela Introduces ‘Reeducation’ Labor Camps
Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro announced the preparation of two maximum security “reeducation” prisons on Thursday that will be used to detain his political opponents.
Venezuela’s July 28 presidential election was fraudulent. Many in the nation protested Maduro’s vote rigging, and at least 19 died in clashes with security services.
Instead of trying to prove his claim to the presidency, Maduro revealed that 1,200 protesters have been captured and that another 1,000 are being pursued. These protesters will face forced labor in Tocorón and Tocuyito’s prisons that Maduro said “must [be] ready in 15 days.”
There is so much persecution. They’re coming into neighborhoods to look for people. I can’t support seeing blood in my country—a country that has so much to offer.
