New York Gives ‘Squatters’ Free Lawyers

Manhattan real estate lawyer Alan Goldberg says he has seen a 20 percent jump in squatter cases over the past two years, and America’s squatting crisis is far from over.

Texas has bussed more than 37,500 illegal immigrants to New York City since August 2022. Yet rather than lobby the Biden administration to crack down on border security, city officials are providing illegal immigrants and other squatters with free legal assistance.

Ami Shah, deputy director of citywide housing at Legal Services NYC, told Newsweek on April 17, “New York City has a right to counsel, so it is free for all eligible tenants. Yes, and it would be free.”

Vandalism: Some New York City politicians started pushing for revised laws after a crew of squatters intentionally burned a house to the ground last November. Yet the city has made little progress in changing its squatter-friendly laws.

Meanwhile, Michigan has decided to help illegal immigrants by offering landlords $500 a month to take them in so they don’t squat in someone’s unoccupied house.

The latest data from the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. (fdic) and Foresight Analytics shows that at least 4.4 million squatters are in America already, and Border Patrol agents are apprehending 2.5 million illegal immigrants at the southern border each year. This crisis will not get better without drastic action.

Prophecy: Herbert W. Armstrong explained in The United States and Britain in Prophecy that the English-speaking peoples descended from the Israelite tribes of Manasseh and Ephraim. This means the Bible’s end-time prophecies about Israel are directed primarily at the American and British peoples.

One prophecy in Deuteronomy says: “The Lord shall smite thee … and thou shalt not prosper in thy ways: and thou shalt be only oppressed and spoiled evermore, and no man shall save thee. Thou shalt betroth a wife, and another man shall lie with her: thou shalt build an house, and thou shalt not dwell therein: thou shalt plant a vineyard, and shalt not gather the grapes thereof” (Deuteronomy 28:28-30).
