Russia Refuses Nuclear Inspections Because the U.S. Backs Ukraine

Russia will refuse American inspections of its nuclear facilities as long as the United States provides long-range weapons to Ukraine, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on November 6.

How can we allow the Americans to visit our nuclear facilities when they are providing long-range weapons to the Ukrainians, which have already been used in attempted attacks on our strategic bases, including those hosting strategic nuclear bombers?
—Sergei Lavrov

New START: Russian President Vladimir Putin suspended the New Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty (New start) with the U.S. in February. The treaty was the world’s last remaining nuclear control pact, under which both countries had agreed to keep a limited nuclear arsenal and allow the other to inspect its nuclear facilities.

Russia says America is to blame for the suspension of the treaty.

The Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty’s preamble says that we are no longer rivals, we enjoy mutual trust, and we need to have a balance of interests and indivisible security. The Americans have trampled upon it all, torn it and washed it down the drain. This is why they say: We are having issues in Ukraine, but let’s consider a resumption of procedures under the treaty. This will not happen.
—Sergei Lavrov

Lavrov’s remarks came after Putin signed a law last week revoking Russia’s ratification of the global treaty banning nuclear tests.

Prophesied nuclear war: The U.S. and Russia own approximately 90 percent of all nuclear warheads, enough to destroy the planet’s human population several times over. Russia’s growing secrecy about its nuclear arsenal and its refusal to forswear nuclear testing indicates nuclear war could be at the doorstep.

These powers will not go to war. But man’s deadly nuclear arsenal will be used—Jesus Christ Himself said so. In Matthew 24, He prophesied of a coming war that could wipe out all mankind: “[E]xcept those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved” (verse 22).

In his booklet Nuclear Armageddon Is ‘At the Door,’ Trumpet editor in chief Gerald Flurry says this will be a “nuclear war so devastating that no flesh would survive if Christ didn’t intervene and stop it.” Fortunately, Christ will intervene and establish world peace.
