Russia Attacks Civilian Marketplace in Ukraine, Kills 17

A Russian missile strike on a crowded market in Kostiantynivka, Ukraine, killed 17 and injured 32. The September 6 attack coincided with United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s visit to Kyiv, where he announced more American aid for Ukraine. Police say that an apartment block, a bank, some cars and nearly 30 shopping kiosks were damaged in the attack.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy condemned the strike, claiming that Kostiantynivka is solely a civilian area. The Kremlin denied specifically targeting civilians.

Current trend: This attack was part of a recent series of Russian strikes on civilian areas in eastern Ukraine, including a café, a hotel and some shops.

Hours before the attack on Kostiantynivka, Russian air strikes targeted Kyiv and Odesa. One died in Odesa, but none in Kyiv.

End result: The Russo-Ukrainian War gives no sign of ending any time soon. It seems peace by negotiation is now an impossibility.

The longer the war drags on, the more it will affect the entire world. Last year, Trumpet editor in chief Gerald Flurry wrote an article titled “Bible Prophecy Comes Alive in Ukraine.” In it, he said Russia’s war on Ukraine won’t directly lead to the final world war, but it shows, as the Drudge Report headline said the day of Russia’s invasion, that we are on the “Countdown to WWIII.”
