Sen. Rand Paul Staffer Stabbed Multiple Times
A staffer for Sen. Rand Paul was stabbed multiple times by 42-year-old Glynn Neal in broad daylight. Staffer Phil Todd was leaving a Sol Mexican Grill in Washington, D.C., on March 25 when he was assaulted. First responders transported Todd to a local hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries while police looked for the attacker.
Neal was arrested two days later after police used a cell phone left at the crime scene to track him down. He had been released from prison just one day before the stabbing; he told police that “voices” in his head told him to do it.
Political violence: We don’t know if Neal’s attack was politically motivated, but attacks on Republicans have been increasing. Senator Paul was attacked by a neighbor in 2017 and sustained serious injuries, including six broken ribs. That attack came just months after Rep. Steve Scalise was shot in the hip by a gunman during a practice session for the 2017 Congressional Baseball Game at Eugene Simpson Stadium Park.
Breitbart News chronicled 639 incidences of violence against Republicans between Sept. 1, 2015, and Nov. 5, 2018. This means that conservatives were being physically attacked for their beliefs three to four times a week during the Trump administration, and there is no evidence the frequency has declined since Joe Biden took office. A Washington Post-abc News poll found that 9 in 10 Americans are concerned that political divisions have intensified to the point of an increased risk of violence.
Prophesied curses: The Prophet Hosea foretold that the modern-day Israelites (America and Britain primarily) would suffer if they rebelled against God.
“Hear the word of the Lord, ye children of Israel: for the Lord hath a controversy with the inhabitants of the land, because there is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land. By swearing, and lying, and killing, and stealing, and committing adultery, they break out, and blood toucheth blood. Therefore, shall the land mourn, and every one that dwelleth therein shall languish, with the beasts of the field, and with the fowls of heaven; yea, the fishes of the sea also shall be taken away” (Hosea 4:1-3).
This passage describes cause and effect. Because there is “no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land,” people swear, lie, kill, steal and commit adultery. The end result is that “blood toucheth blood.” The violence becomes so bad there is hardly a reprieve between stabbings, shootings and assassinations.
