Russia and Belarus Forces Work Together

Russian President Vladimir Putin’s visit to Minsk, Belarus, on December 19 sparked fear that Russia is pulling Belarus deeper into the war against Ukraine. Putin met with Belarussian President Alexander Lukashenko and confirmed that the two nations will continue to cooperate militarily.

• Russian forces invaded Ukraine partly from Belarus when the offensive was first launched back in February.
• On July 28, Russia used Belarussian airfields to launch 25 missiles at Ukraine.

• In October, Russia and Belarus organized a joint military task force and Belarussian soldiers have since conducted training exercises with Russian forces.
• Russia is also equipping Belarus with nuclear-capable Iskander short-range ballistic missiles, an S-400 air defense complex, and other “special warheads.”

Former Soviet allies: Whether or not Belarus officially joins Russia’s war with Ukraine, the two nations are rebuilding their former Soviet relationship. Belarus was once under Russia’s command in the ussr, and this axis is strengthening again, politically and militarily. The Bible reveals that Russia will lead an alliance of nations in the end time, somewhat similar to the ussr, but this time considerably stronger. Ezekiel 38 and 39 give key details about this alliance, showing that it will include both Russia and China, as well as other Asian nations. The Bible calls this bloc “the kings of the east” (Revelation 16:12) and says it will field a 200-million-man army (Revelation 9:16). In his booklet The Prophesied ‘Prince of Russia’, Trumpet editor in chief Gerald Flurry identifies Vladimir Putin as the man who will head this massive military alliance.

This world has a lot of authoritarian rulers. But Vladimir Putin is one we need to keep a particularly close eye on. His track record, his nationality and his ideology show that he is fulfilling a linchpin Bible prophecy. The time frame of his rule also shows that nobody else could be fulfilling the Ezekiel 38 and 39 prophecy.
