Europe to Blitz Public With PR Strategy
On July 5, German Foreign Policy reported that the European Union has hired a German firm—Berlin-based public relations agency Media Consulta (MC)—to implement a new media strategy dubbed the “European Communications Policy.” Eighty million euros annually have been budgeted for this project; MC is active in all 25 EU countries. Curiously, the goal is not to present policies more palatable to Europeans. Succinctly stated: “The aim of the plan is to weaken the resistance by the population to the policies of the European Union.”
That “resistance” has been significant. Both French and Dutch voters rejected the EU constitution in referenda; after that failure, many other countries didn’t hold the referenda at all. Pushing the constitution on the populace will be a key aim of the new media conglomerate.
The political powers have decided to package and repackage the same ideas until the European people accept them. This is only a slight improvement over those politicians who think they should simply go ahead with the policies absent the people’s support.
One wonders why EU officials even give the people a choice, if they are so dead-set on pushing their ideas through anyway. Is it just to maintain the appearance of democracy? We at the Trumpet have never bought that ploy. See our articles “Freedom Marches Out of Europe” and “Europe’s True Nature Exposed.”
