Will Rocket Attacks Expand to West Bank?
Israel is currently engaged with Islamists on two fronts. Now, according to WorldNetDaily, terrorist group Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades has announced it will open up a third—in the West Bank. This would represent a worst-case scenario for Israel, and significantly increase the Jewish state’s need for outside help.
In an interview with WorldNetDaily, a chief rocket coordinator for the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades in Judea and Samaria, named Abu Oudai,
claimed major Israeli cities and the country’s international airport would eventually become Palestinian rocket targets, particularly following Prime Minister Ehud Olmert’s planned withdrawal from most of Judea and Samaria [the West Bank], which borders Israel’s main population centers. …
”Our goal is to cover all Israeli regions and to bring them inside the distance of our rockets,” said Abu Oudai, speaking from Nablus in northern Samaria. ”Every Israeli site or city is inside our capabilities and if some sites are not yet they will be very soon. The Ben Gurion Airport, Tel Aviv, Jerusalem every site and city will be targeted.” … Security officials say any Judea and Samaria missile attack would open a whole new front of rocket targets against Jewish communities in the territories and against neighboring cities, including Jerusalem.
Since the earliest moments that Israel vacated the Gaza Strip last August, Islamist groups have claimed that they would take the fight to the West Bank to claim Jerusalem as the capital of a Palestinian state. Whether the current battle will escalate to that point remains to be seen, but the intent of Israel’s enemies is clear.
This explosive situation bears the closest scrutiny. In January, Trumpet editor in chief Gerald Flurry said he expected Jerusalem could be cut in half this year. Is the world already witnessing the overture of this decisive event?
