Our 80-Year Track Record
The Plain Truth and the Trumpet have accurately forecast world news since 1934.
What the Trumpet Does
The Trumpet brings you tomorrow’s news today. The Trumpet has accurately predicted Iran’s domination of the Middle East, Germany’s domination of Europe, Russia and China’s emerging alliance, America’s wartime failures, and Britain’s exit from Europe.
Why does the Trumpet boldly forecast future events? How does it get these forecasts right? And where does it get its insight?
The Trumpet has no inside sources, no political advisers, no extensive foreign bureaus, no think tanks, no enormous endowment. It has only one advantage, but that advantage makes all the difference. The Trumpet trusts the Bible.
The Trumpet’s History
Herbert W. Armstrong founded the Plain Truth in 1934. The Plain Truth was the first magazine to use the Bible and its prophecies to explain and forecast world events. This claim may sound outlandish, but 8 million people worldwide subscribed to the Plain Truth’s unique analysis.
After Mr. Armstrong died in 1986, his successors destroyed the message of prophecy and the Plain Truth. Gerald Flurry established the Philadelphia Trumpet in February 1990 to continue the message Mr. Armstrong had published and Mr. Flurry continues to actively lead the Trumpet to use the Bible to explain world events.
The Trumpet’s Perspective
Like the Plain Truth, the Trumpet boldly forecasts world events based on the Bible. This gives this magazine a unique perspective:
The Trumpet asserts that the Bible is God’s Word.
The Trumpet aims only for truth, defined as God’s Word in the Holy Bible. Few follow the Bible fully, and almost none recognize it for what it is: an instruction book from humankind’s Creator that reveals His master plan, including major modern world events. The Bible is ridiculed and ignored today, but it contains real-world revelation that affects your individual life. That revelation is inaccessible from any other source.
The Trumpet shows you not only what will happen but why.
The Bible forecasts the future of nations including the United States, Britain, Canada, Australia, Germany, Russia, China, Israel and others. It predicts major political unions, common markets, trade wars, cyberattacks, religious empires, terrorism and mass destruction.
Bible prophecy also reveals the cause for these effects: sin. Newswatchers tend to think of cultural and societal news as separate from hard news like economics, politics and crime. But the way human beings live their individual lives is the direct cause of these major world events.
The Trumpet publishes hope.
It can be depressing to watch the news. The magnitude of human suffering happening at this moment is staggering. Many people simply stop watching, choosing instead to retreat into private concerns, into entertainment, into indifference.
But if the modern peoples of the world are who the Bible said they would become, and if their nations are doing what the Bible said they would do, and if the future turns out to be exactly what the Bible said it would be, then the author of the Bible must be far greater than any human being. The Bible must be inspired by God.
That means there is hope.
The Bible also prophesies that these compounding disasters will occur shortly before the most major world event of all: the return of Jesus Christ. This is the one and only sure hope for mankind: stopping the suffering by stopping its cause.
