The Mystery of the Church
Listen to the Trumpet Daily each day at 7:00 am (CST) on KPCG.fm.
One of the greatest mysteries in the entire Bible is the true purpose and meaning of the Church. The revelation of this mystery will come as a shocking truth. The real truth about the Church, the reason for its origin, and its purpose has remained hidden from even the professing Christian world.
The true Church of God established by Christ Himself has an all-important meaning that will directly impact every human life that has ever lived. Yet almost no one has ever known that meaning. Even within the Christian world, apostasy, division and deception have blotted out the true original meaning and purpose that now is indeed a mystery.
If the Church came into existence as an instrumentality for “getting people saved,” then by what means did God try to save people prior to Christ’s founding of the Church? Jesus did not appear until 4,000 years after Adam and the original sin. If God is and has been trying to convert the world, what means did he use during that 4,000 years between Adam and Christ?
Few people even realize that the Greek word for church used in the New Testament means called-out-ones. Most assume the word refers to a physical building—or a place in which congregants assemble. In fact, the Church is made up of members God calls out of this world!
It is significant, and generally unrealized, that neither Jesus nor the apostles embarked on any soul-saving crusade, which is a modern Protestant practice. The apostles, as Jesus had done, proclaimed the true gospel—the good news of a coming better world. It was not an emotional pleading, “Won’t you give your heart to the Lord?” It was a news announcement about the soon-coming Kingdom of God!
On today’s program, we explain the real purpose of the Church—the reason why Jesus Christ founded the Church of God.
