Iranian and U.S. Forces Share a Base in Iraq
The United States now shares a base with Iranian-backed Shiite militias in Iraq, according to a report from Bloomberg View.
The two nations share Taqaddum military base located in Anbar provinceā€”the same base receiving an additional 450 U.S. military personnel to train local forces.
According to the report, some members of the Shiite militia stationed in the base have American blood on their hands from the Iraq war.
Previously, both American and Iranian officials said there would be no coordination between the two nations in their efforts to combat the Islamic State. However, observers now fear collusion is already taking place.
