Technology has drastically changed society in the last few decades, and many of those changes are negative. Technology-based cheating and academic dishonesty are widespread throughout every level of education. Children and teens with access to technology and social media are suffering from depression, self-harm, eating disorders and suicidal thoughts or actions. We must not underestimate the potential harms of misuse of technology. Instead, we must learn and teach our children to use technology safely—as a tool not a toy.
