A World of Rising Dictators

00:30 Authoritarianism in the U.S. and Britain (9 minutes)

Britain and America no longer export freedom and democracy. Instead, we import the authoritarian practices of Communist regimes. The FBI is forcing agents to classify cases as “domestic violent extremism” in order to back the White House’s claim that domestic terrorism is the greatest threat to the U.S. Also, a UK citizen who posts on YouTube opposing transgender bathroom usage has been warned by the police that her opinions are against government guidelines.

9:34 Putin’s Police State (10 minutes)

Under Vladimir Putin, the Federal Security Service in Russia has become a Stalin-like secret police force. Russian forces are turning parts of Ukraine into “an abyss of fear and wild lawlessness,” according to Human Rights Watch. Captured Ukrainian soldiers are tortured and killed; hundreds of people have simply disappeared, suspected to have been murdered and buried in mass graves. This kind of violent authoritarianism is in line with what the Bible tells us to expect from the prophesied prince of Rosh.

19:00 The End of Globalization (12 minutes)

Der Spiegel released an article this week discussing the end of the age of globalization. It notes, “[F]reedom and democracy are in retreat worldwide, and … autocratic regimes are on the rise and are becoming more powerful.” We are now in the times of the Gentiles, when dictatorial non-Israelite powers are increasing in strength.

31:00 Italian Government Update (5 minutes)

Italy’s next leader might be a member of the Brothers of Italy, a political party started after World War II by supporters of Benito Mussolini. This party shares many of the same ideas as Mussolini, who believed strongly in the connection between the government and the Catholic Church.

37:13 Discoveries From the James Webb Telescope (18 minutes)

The latest pictures from the James Webb Space Telescope provide a marvelous perspective on the universe, allowing us to see even more distant galaxies than Hubble. These discoveries are opening our eyes to just how vast, ancient and complex the universe is, forcing scientists to rethink their theories. One scientist said, “Right now I find myself lying awake at 3 in the morning, wondering if everything I’ve ever done is wrong.” As the Bible states, the heavens declare the glory of God—and they stir us with a magnificent vision of our future.
