Under Vladimir Putin, the Federal Security Service in Russia has become a Stalin-like secret police force. Russian forces are turning parts of Ukraine into “an abyss of fear and wild lawlessness,” according to Human Rights Watch. Captured Ukrainian soldiers are tortured and killed; hundreds of people have simply disappeared, suspected to have been murdered and buried in mass graves. This kind of violent authoritarianism is in line with what the Bible tells us to expect from the prophesied prince of Rosh.

It notes, “[F]reedom and democracy are in retreat worldwide, and … autocratic regimes are on the rise and are becoming more powerful.” We are now in the times of the Gentiles, when dictatorial non-Israelite powers are increasing in strength.
