The German people are grappling with a choice between who they want to be and who they need to be. They want to be tolerant, nonjudgmental and multicultural. But, as yesterday’s terrorist attack in Berlin shows, Germans will naturally feel they may need to be more skeptical, confrontational and nationalistic. In today’s program, guest presenter Brad Macdonald considers the Berlin attack and some of its ramifications.

When the Soviet Union ceased to exist in 1991, the anti-Communist coalition wildly celebrated its stunning collapse. But as former chess champion Garry Kasparov pointed out in a recent opinion piece, authoritarian regimes are again thriving in the world of 2016. Some 2.7 billion people on Earth live under the tyrannical rule of a dictator. In Russia, the bloodthirsty Vladimir Putin has made great gains in his bid to restore the glory of imperial Russia! And this time around, there is no anti-Communist coalition resisting him. Many in the West even praise the likes of Putin for being strong and authoritative. For more on this distressing turn of events, listen to Stephen Flurry on today’s Trumpet Daily Radio Show.

Stratfor posted an article this week titled “The Year That May Decide Europe’s Fate.” Coming on the heels of what was already a dramatic year for Europe, 2017 may prove to be the year that the eurozone becomes defunct. Bible prophecy indicates that Europe is going to have to undergo some incredible reorganizing to pave the way for it to be ruled by “ten kings.” Events in Europe right now are leading to these major changes. Listen to Stephen Flurry comment on these stories and more on today’s Trumpet Daily Radio Show.

This week, after four years of intense fighting, Bashar Assad’s regime in Syria—with the full backing of Russia and Iran—finally crushed the rebel resistance in eastern Aleppo. In doing so, the Syrian Army crossed every imaginable “red line.” There were cold-blooded mass killings of men and boys and barbaric atrocities aimed at women and children. “Are you truly incapable of shame?” America’s UN ambassador pointedly asked the leaders of Syria, Russia and Iran. Stephen Flurry discusses this and more on today’s Trumpet Daily Radio Show.

Europe’s Galileo satellite navigation system will launch tomorrow, officially entering initial operating capacity. With the launch, Europe joins America and Russia as the only powers with their own global satellite navigation system. In today’s show, Trumpet writer Richard Palmer explores how the project reveals Europe’s dreams of becoming a superpower, and how it badly wants to end its reliance on the United States. Also on today’s show, Europe’s economic crisis once again threatens to boil over. Can Europe make it through 2017 without experiencing a cataclysmic crisis? Such a crisis would force Europe to complete its journey to a superstate.

Der Spiegel recently published a piece titled “Europeans Debate Nuclear Self-Defense After Trump Win.” Donald Trump continues to undermine NATO, which has been Europe’s main source of defense. He has also encouraged America’s allies to seek their own nuclear deterrent so they don’t have to rely on the United States. As Europe sees the American defense umbrella fold up, what can we expect to see with the rise of a European superpower? Stephen Flurry discusses this and more on today’s Trumpet Daily Radio Show.

Throughout the Apostle Paul’s first-century writings, he referred to various individuals who helped God’s Work. Though the Work started out small, Paul knew that it would require more laborers to help spread the message. The same is true for God’s Church today. Herbert W. Armstrong knew that as the Work grew, he couldn’t fulfill all the responsibilities—he needed help. On today’s program, Stephen Flurry explains how each individual plays a critical role in helping deliver this message to the world.

Barack Obama was two weeks into his presidency when nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. He went on to receive the award less than a year later—not for anything he had done, but for what he had promised to do. Seven years after he accepted that award, the world couldn’t be further from the peace everyone hoped for. On today’s show, Stephen Flurry looks at the Obama Doctrine’s impact on stability and peace around the globe.

Italy is one of the core nations of the European Union project. This week, however, its citizens rejected constitutional reforms from its pro-EU Prime Minister Matteo Renzi. The referendum has shaken Europe. The EU appears to be fracturing, but Bible prophecy says that a core group of European nations will bind together to form the final resurrection of the Holy Roman Empire. On today’s show, Stephen Flurry revisits some of the most troubling trends in Europe today and explains how they are leading to the fulfilment of Bible prophecy.

In the first century a.d., the Apostle Paul warned the Church in Corinth to beware religious deception. “For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which have not accepted, ye might well bear with him” (2 Corinthians 11:4). Paul was addressing a major problem in this congregation: The members were giving their ears to false ministers and to heresies. On today’s program, Stephen Flurry briefly examines that first-century history and then explains how these same problems impacted God’s Church in this end time.
