How Easy It Is to Be Seduced by Words
In the first century a.d., the Apostle Paul warned the Church in Corinth to beware religious deception. “For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which have not accepted, ye might well bear with him” (2 Corinthians 11:4). Paul was addressing a major problem in this congregation: The members were giving their ears to false ministers and to heresies.
