The Bible’s record of God’s Church abruptly ends during the lifetime of the Apostle John.

More than 2,500 years ago, the Prophet Habakkuk warned of nuclear winter in this end time. Yet he was filled with hope. How can you develop this hope in your life?
The end-time Elijah died in 1986. But God did not.
American society is crumbling under the weight of domestic problems like family breakdown, race riots and drug addiction.
Steve Jobs died on October 5, 2011. Jobs was the co-founder of Apple Computer. Shortly after his death, Jobs’s official biographer, Walter Isaacson described him as the “creative entrepreneur whose passion for perfection and ferocious drive revolutionized six industries: personal computers, animated movies, music, phones, tablet computing, and digital publishing.” He had a passion for perfection. On today’s Key of David program, Gerald Flurry looks at this attribute of Steve Job’s life and how it should be developed in all people, physically and spiritually.
Why has science proven so powerless against the quandaries of selfishness, hatred and violence?
America and Europe are in financial crisis, just look at the news reports on the economy. In 2008, America almost collapsed financially. Here’s what Nancy Pelosi wrote in USA Today back in September 17, 2013: ”Five years ago today when I was the Speaker I gathered the other Democratic House leaders in my office to discuss the latest financial news. I told them that, as a matter of course, Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson briefed me on the state of the markets and the financial system, but had not done so that week. In that time, Lehman Brothers had filed for bankruptcy, Merrill Lynch had faced failure and had been purchased by Bank of America, and two days earlier AIG had survived only after a Federal Reserve bailout. After the meeting at 3:00 p.m., I placed a call to Secretary Paulson and asked him to come the next morning to brief the leadership. Then came his STUNNING response: ‘Madam Speaker, Tomorrow morning will be too late.’”She continued: “And she continues to write: “We then planned to meet at 5:00 p.m. that day, and I invited Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke to join us. Later that evening the meeting commenced with Democratic and Republican leaders from both the House and the Senate. Secretary Paulson described a meltdown and financial crisis from the depths of hell!” The crisis spread to Europe and it’s still going on. But what many don’t realize is that this will lead to something that will transform this world. Bible prophecy says that Europe will unite politically. Revelation 17 says ten nations will unite together under the leadership of a strong man and Gerald Flurry boldly predicts that it is because of a financial crisis. This is based on a prediction of Herbert W. Armstrong back in 1984.
The P5+1 nations, which includes America, have negotiated a nuclear deal with Iran. Many people are elated. But there should be no celebration. What is at stake is nothing less than HUMAN SURVIVAL. We needed something that would pull us away from that brink, but this nuclear deal with Iran did just the opposite. If we doubt that it is about human survival, then perhaps we should talk to the Jewish nation Iran repeatedly says it wants to wipe off the map. Israel realizes its survival rests in whether or not Iran gets a nuclear bomb.Even during the nuclear talks, Iranian groups repeatedly chanted “Death to Israel” and “Death to America.” The Iranian leaders call Israel “the little Satan” and America “the great Satan.” They have a history of hating America and wanting to wipe our influence off the face of the Earth. Can we expect a nuclear deal with such Iran to make the world safer? History can help us answer that question. Experience is an excellent teacher, if we are willing to learn from it.
Jesus Christ said in Mark 3:25: “And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand.” President Lincoln quoted these words in our nation’s darkest hour, and it would be good for us to heed them again today. The anniversary of Gettysburg is a reminder of what it takes to recapture national unity once it is lost. A failure to learn this lesson will mean that this “government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall … perish from the Earth.”
