The Democratic Socialists of America are claiming scalps, growing brasher, and agitating for war. Not a war against Republicans but against “moderate” Democrats—as they aim to bring down the entire system.

• The danger these extremists pose to the nation, Bible prophecy shows, is far greater than people realize.

For years, foolish Democratic leaders have stoked a revolutionary spirit they assumed they could aim at their opponents on the right.

• The party of leftists like Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi has grown to include an increasingly more-extreme cast: from Bernie Sanders to AOC and Rashida Tlaib to Zohran Mamdani and Abdul El-Sayed.
• Formerly “far left” views are now considered “centrist”; “centrist” positions are now branded “right wing” or “far right.”

Establishment Democrats have gone along, straining to preserve their street cred. Chuck Schumer shouted threats at Supreme Court justices from the courthouse steps. Hakeem Jeffries brandished a baseball bat and called on supporters to fight in the streets.

But they can’t make themselves extreme enough in the eyes of the true zealots.

• When Democratic-Socialist candidates swept a round of primaries this summer, the celebration chant aimed at Jeffries was, “You’re next!”
• At a Marxism conference in Chicago last weekend, University of California–Santa Barbara historian Butch Ware told the assembled socialists, “The Democrats cannot be reasoned with. They must be destroyed.” He even called Mayor Mamdani a tool of the establishment meant to contain the movement’s energy.
• Jonathan Turley has a growing collection of extreme rhetoric by leftist professors and activists—even open demands for violence and war.

Yet still, no one on the left is competing to sound more reasonable. Rather than confront the radicals threatening their own party, Democratic officials court them, flirting with abolishing capitalism, borders and the nation-state itself. As Turley wrote:

Figures like Newsom have even campaigned on denouncing capitalism as “not working” as candidates like Texas Democratic Senatorial candidate James Talarico have called to “dismantle” capitalism. Figures like former Vice President Kamala Harris have dismissed loyalty to our core institutions such as the Supreme Court as mere “nostalgia.”

Socialism is not a quest for justice. It is, at bottom, a struggle for power. These establishment Democrats “are following the same self-destructive delusions of other establishment figures in history who thought that they could use mobs against their opponents while hoping that they could survive,” Turley wrote. “It will not work.”

By pandering to extremists in a naked effort to win votes, these unprincipled politicians are fueling dangerous forces. As Gerald Flurry astutely observes in his book America Under Attack,

Look around today: This country is in a catastrophe! Radicals are destroying the nation, foolishly thinking that somehow they will be able to control these ruinous, anarchic forces they are unleashing. And this trouble is certain to lead to worse trouble.

Similar fracturing is also weakening the Republican Party. The splintering and radicalization of American politics truly is a curse. Expect internal divisions to continue spreading, with factions attacking and consuming other factions in turn.

Civil war is prophesied. Ezekiel 5 has a terrifying prophecy of America’s future (and of Britain and other modern Israelite nations): no fewer than one third of our people dying “with the pestilence” (verse 12)—speaking of violence filling our cities.

It is hard to even imagine such carnage. But it becomes easier when you see people so drunk on ideology, so bent on violence, so contemptuous of their country, so zealous in viewing fellow citizens as enemies on a battlefield—and such unscrupulous opportunism and cowardice among party leaders that they dump fuel on the fire rather than stamping it out.

Iran War Update

• The United States destroyed five Iranian oil tankers last night in retaliation for Iranian action. In response, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps claimed it attacked 20 U.S. vessels near the Strait of Hormuz and launched ballistic missiles toward a U.S. base in Jordan.
• Saudi Arabia accused Yemen’s Houthi terror group of a mass bombing that it claims injured at least 73 civilians on Tuesday and damaged “energy sector facilities and installations.”

Britain Tries to Force Jews Out of Judea

Britain announced sanctions on Israel yesterday designed to punish Jewish settlers in Judea and Samaria. “Today I announce that the official view of the British government is that the occupation [of Judea and Samaria] is unlawful,” Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband said.

• The sanctions ban all imports from settlements in the area commonly referred to as the West Bank, a term designed to downplay its historic connection to the Jews.
• The British government will sanction companies that build or finance building in settlements.
• It will also extend the two-year partial arms freeze on Israel.

Built on lies: Melanie Phillips wrote that “the real issue is that the whole thing is based on ignorant and malevolent lies and distortions, behavior directed at no other country, people or cause on Earth.” She also wrote:

The lies and distortions that have been pouring out of Miliband like an unstoppable geyser of poison are jaw-dropping.

The media and government focus relentlessly on a minority of violent acts committed by some Jews—whom the Israeli authorities try to stop—and they ignore the much bigger problem of Palestinian attacks on Jews.

Miliband gave an example of what he called “settler terrorism” in the village of al-Mughayyir, north of Jerusalem, characterizing it this way:

Settlers have encircled the village and mounted a campaign of intimidation, largely under the protection of the Israeli military …. In the same community, just last week, two teenagers were shot when settlers entered the village under police and military escort.

The truth: Miliband’s example is indeed a good one, because it exposes his and the British government’s typical bias and, in fact, dishonesty, on this subject.

• Inhabitants of al-Mughayyir stole animals belonging to Israeli civilians. While police went in to recover the animals, a Palestinian mob began attacking them, throwing concrete blocks. Police eventually responded with live fire, killing two of the instigators.

The Israeli settlers are trying to defend territory promised to them by God, places where their ancestors have lived for centuries. As Phillips wrote:

It’s the British government that’s actually demanding the ethnic cleansing of Jews from their land and punishing Israel for not bowing to this demand. …

Britain is Israel’s ally no longer. It has become an enemy of the Jewish people, a threat to the West and a menace to civilization.

Europe Pushes Back Over Mladić Funeral

Bosnian Serb Col. Gen. Ratko Mladić was buried in Belgrade, Serbia, on Monday with military honors following his death on August 27 in the Netherlands, where he was imprisoned due to alleged genocide. Thousands attended the funeral, despite European Union leaders’ criticism of Mladić.

The pushback from the German-led EU is a continuation of Germany’s century-long war against the Serbs.

• On Friday, EU Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos canceled her planned visit to Serbia, stating that “the glorification surrounding his death is incompatible with the values on which the EU path is built.” Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić called that “very short but stupid.”
• EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs Kaja Kallas said that Serbia joining the EU in the future “requires an unequivocal commitment in fundamental European values and historical truth.” In other words, nations that hope to join must submit to the EU version of historical truth, and Serbia doesn’t.

Mladić is a divisive figure. To Serbs, he’s a hero. To most in the West, he’s “the butcher of Bosnia.”

• He was commander in chief of the Serbian Army when it committed the 1995 Srebrenica massacre of 8,000 Bosnian Muslim men and boys.
• What most Western news sources ignore is that the Srebrenica massacre wasn’t unprovoked. It was a reaction to atrocities committed by Naser Oric, who oversaw the Muslim forces in the town. (For more information, read “What Really Happened in Bosnia.”)
• War crimes were committed by all sides.

The war actually began when Croatian independence, denied by virtually all major world powers, was recognized by the Vatican and Germany. (Get your free copy of Germany’s Conquest of the Balkans.) Independence fighters across the Balkans took up arms against the Serbs, who controlled Yugoslavia and resisted its breakup. Germany used the situation to drastically weaken Serbia, its enemy from World War ii.

• The massacre Mladić oversaw must be seen in that context. He understood Germany’s objectives in the region.

In the November 1995 Trumpet, Gerald Flurry drew attention to Misha Glenny’s book The Fall of Yugoslavia, which describes Mladić’s perspective:

For him, the creation of an independent Croatia is the natural revival of a German compulsion to rule Europe. …

From early on in the conflict, Serbia became convinced that Croatia’s bid for independence meant that the Germans had begun the establishment of the Fourth Reich!

Germany’s forceful establishment of the Fourth Reich indeed began with the 1991–2008 breakup of Yugoslavia. Mladić recognized this and fought it. That doesn’t justify his means, but it explains why he is demonized today.

Germany’s plan for the Balkans and for Europe is still underway. In fact, as Mr. Flurry writes in Germany’s Conquest of the Balkans, Yugoslavia was “the first military victim of World War iii.”

Russia’s casualties in Ukraine surpass 1.5 million: The Russian military’s total combat losses since the start of its full-scale invasion of Ukraine have crossed the 1.5 million mark, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said today. This number of killed and wounded is roughly 100 times larger than the Soviet Union’s losses in Afghanistan during 10 years of war. Despite these staggering losses, biblical prophecy reveals that Vladimir Putin’s Russia is only beginning its march toward war.

U.S.-Canada trade feud escalates: Yesterday, President Donald Trump announced the U.S. will ban Canadian dairy products, most alcoholic beverages and motorcycles starting September 29. This comes after Canada imposed tariffs on $20 billion in American goods—a retaliation against tariffs the U.S. imposed on August 22 after trade talks collapsed. The White House also barred Canadian products from major U.S. government contracts until Canada grants “full and fair reciprocity.” Prime Minister Mark Carney said Canada will cut its dependence on U.S. trade and expand its business with Europe and other partners.
