Wildfire approaching Reno
A large, fast-moving wildfire is approaching Reno, Nevada. The fire began on Sunday, and almost 100,000 people have evacuated thus far. This follows recent wildfires in Washington, one of which torched parts of Spokane, and near Kelowna, British Columbia. It seems as if almost all of North America’s westernmost region is facing severe fires, including in areas with relatively large populations. Are these disasters more than “bad luck”?
