The Story of Everything
The Story of Everything
Good morning!
If you want a dazzling, mind-stretching experience, I recommend The Story of Everything.
- Last night I thoroughly enjoyed this documentary, written by author and philosopher of science Stephen Meyer. It’s only in select theaters for a couple more days. I hope it reaches the largest audience possible.
We live in an age of skepticism, secularism and materialism. Modern scientists believed the universe has existed eternally and thus has no beginning. When evidence showed that, yes, it did start at a definite point in time, they belched fantastical notions of how it came into being spontaneously.
- They shrivel God’s jaw-dropping material accomplishments down to mere fortuitous outcomes of haphazard, blind chance. Besides trivializing creation, this view that all of reality is merely purposeless drifting atoms strips life of all meaning.
You would never say this about any human masterwork. In whatever field—manufacturing, architecture, literature, art, music—you marvel at the brilliance and celebrate the masterly maker.
- The splendors of creation transcend our comprehension, let alone our powers to match—functionally, aesthetically, artistically, cosmically, microscopically and all in between. Yet pitiful mortals deny the Creator His credit and haughtily write God out of the picture.
The miracles of creation are pushing back. The Story of Everything is the story of one shallow hypothesis after another being undermined by discovery, one ignorant assumption after another being disproved by reality.
- Bit by bit, science is coming to apprehend and appreciate details of God’s dexterous design to a previously unknowable degree.
The fine-tuning of the universe, within impossibly precise physical constants necessary for life, is dazzling. The intricacies of cellular biology are awe-inspiring. How living things reproduce after their kind is an engineering feat that shames man’s most sophisticated accomplishments.
- The more we study, the more we find virtuosity, elegance, mastery, stunning creativity, consummate planning and execution.
We also see gratuitous beauty. This term, which I learned from this film, is one of my new favorite terms. It refers to the extravagant, superfluous beauty, unnecessary for mere survival or functionality, found everywhere in creation. Charles Darwin had no explanation for this. It points to a Creator who delights in lavishness, and for our benefit and joy.
God is giving us superabundant evidence of His presence, power and love. No wonder the psalmist wrote, “The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God.”
- Now even grizzled old scientists are having to rethink their assumptions, agape as they scrutinize His exquisite handiwork.
Scientists of old, including Galileo, Bacon and Newton, said God has written “two books”—the Book of Scripture (the Bible) and the Book of Nature (creation). Coming to appreciate the second should lead you to study and believe the first.
- Learn more about that book of nature by watching The Story of Everything. Then, see how the Creator made all that for a wonderful purpose, and how you are at the heart of it, by reading our free booklet Your Awesome Universe Potential.
You can’t learn that purpose by looking through telescopes or microscopes—you must study His inspired Word.
Will the Ceasefire Cease?
The Iran-United States ceasefire could collapse at any moment. The conflict’s main players are all gearing up for this:
- The United Arab Emirates reported yesterday that Iran fired four missiles at it. Iran hasn’t claimed responsibility. But during the conflict’s active fighting, Iran hit the U.A.E. with more projectiles than any other Middle Eastern country, including Israel.
- The United States Navy sank seven smaller Iranian boats yesterday in response to a South Korean merchant vessel claiming it was under attack.
- U.S. President Donald Trump said earlier today he would blow Iranian ships “off the face of the Earth” if they challenge the U.S. blockade of the Strait of Hormuz. The speaker of Iran’s legislature, Mohammed Bagher Ghalibaf, responded that Iran has “not even begun yet” with its plans for Hormuz.
- Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held security talks yesterday in preparation for the ceasefire’s collapse, Israel’s Channel 12 News reported today. One official said Israel is “aware of the possible implications of the American action, including renewed Iranian hostilities against Israel.”
- The U.S. intelligence community assesses Iran’s timetable for constructing a nuclear weapon, astoundingly, as unchanged since joint nuclear strikes last year, Reuters reported last night according to “three sources familiar with the matter.” President Trump has repeatedly stated that Iran maintaining its nuclear weapons program is a red line.
There are signs that the U.S. does not want to resume air strikes or escalate with ground forces.
- U.S. War Secretary Pete Hegseth said in a press conference this morning that the U.S. Navy’s blockade of the Strait of Hormuz is separate from Operation Epic Fury, the U.S. name for 2026’s bombing campaign, which President Trump told congressional leaders ceased on April 7. Hegseth stated that “American forces won’t need to enter Iranian waters or airspace” to enforce the blockade.
The Bible shows that a conflict in Iran will be the spark that starts World War iii. Trumpet editor in chief Gerald Flurry’s feature story “World War III Will Start With Iran” elaborates.
Nick Shirley Exposes Cuban Oppression
Independent journalist Nick Shirley traveled to Cuba at the end of April to document the real conditions under more than 60 years of Communist rule. Unlike certain other visitors, he barely made it out alive.
Cuba’s Communist government has long welcomed those who oppose U.S. interests, including allies like China, Russia and Iran.
- In March 2026, a group of American and European leftists—including members of Code Pink, socialist streamer Hasan Piker and the daughter of radical Democrat Rep. Ilhan Omar—visited the island. They enjoyed five-star hotels, expensive meals, concerts and meetings with President Miguel Díaz-Canel. They returned home claiming life in Cuba was fine and would improve if the United States eased its pressure.
But is this what ordinary Cubans are experiencing? Shirley went to find and document the truth.
- He brought his own security team and gear to record daily life. But right after he landed, Cuban officials seized his main cameras, his body cameras, his video-recording glasses, his microphones and most of his other equipment. They left him with only his smartphone and a small microphone. Spies followed him constantly.
What he witnessed was grim: Severe shortages of electricity, food and clean water; buildings crumbling from neglect; almost no cars on the streets; gasoline priced around $10 per gallon.
- At a hospital, long lines of patients waited outside. Due to frequent blackouts, surgeons performed operations by flashlight. People everywhere suffer from severe poverty.
- Last Friday, Shirley recorded a tense video from his hotel room in Havana. Cuban intelligence agents had entered the hotel lobby, apparently trying to trap him and his team.
- Fearing they could be taken hostage or imprisoned, the group made a risky escape plan. Their original flight was still days away. They considered rushing to the U.S. Embassy, a mile and a half away. Other ideas included switching taxis or hiding in the hotel. But a major Communist holiday rally was planned right outside. “This is probably the most dangerous situation I’ve ever been in,” Shirley said. He worried the video might never be released if they were caught.
Shirley and his team made it home safely. In his posts and video, he explained a key lesson: Under communism, there is no real free speech. Most are intimidated into never showing the truth, and those who do risk intimidation, confiscation or prison.
Many leftists still claim Cuba is not a dictatorship. Former President Barack Obama praised the regime’s education and health-care systems, without mentioning its long history of repression and killing.
- The Black Book of Communism estimates that nearly 100,000 people perished from the Castro regime’s firing squads, assassinations, imprisonments and failed attempts to flee the island.
The late Herbert W. Armstrong warned about Communist tactics decades ago. In 1934, he began speaking out that communism’s first weapon was propaganda. He wrote in 1980 that Communists were spreading atheistic ideas in American universities, among professors and students, and even into parts of the U.S. government.
- He also warned that America’s acceptance of Communist ideas would weaken the nation, making it vulnerable to future threats, including a revived Holy Roman Empire.
Shirley plans to release more details about his frightening experience. This highlights the dangers of honest reporting in a Communist country and reminds the world why freedom is so important and why propaganda hiding the failures of communism is so dangerous.

Russia is luring Africans to join its war against Ukraine, the New York Times reported yesterday. Kenya’s National Intelligence Service has reported that around 1,000 Kenyans have gone to Russia and joined its war effort, either willingly or not, with only 30 returning to their home country alive. Russia is reportedly promising African men normal jobs, then coercing them into deadly work supporting its attack on Ukrainians. Bible prophecy reveals that Russian President Vladimir Putin will soon be responsible for more deaths than any other human in history. His willingness to commit this kind of ruthless brutality is an indicator of his capability of fulfilling that prophecy.
Deadly car ramming in Germany: Jeffrey K., a German national, drove through a crowd of people Monday afternoon, killing 2 and injuring 20. The suspect, who is married and the father of one child, reportedly had been in a psychiatric facility the day prior. While he reportedly admitted himself, he was expelled due to aggressive behavior toward other patients. What the mainstream media will not discuss is that there is a spiritual reason behind these tragedies.
Canadian prime minister appears at European summit: Mark Carney became the first non-European leader to participate, as a guest, in the European Political Community summit in Armenia on Monday. The epc consists of 45 European nations and meets twice annually to enhance cooperation in economics, defense and other areas. Since becoming prime minister last year, Carney has pursued an agenda of pivoting away from the United States and toward Europe. At the summit, he concluded his remarks by stating that “the international order will be rebuilt, but it will be rebuilt out of Europe.” The Bible prophesies that a superpower will emerge from Europe, and it appears that Canada will help build it up and strengthen it in direct opposition to the United States.
The Hubble Space Telescope is one of the greatest developments of modern science. Human beings, made in the image and likeness of God, are probing deeply into the universe as never before observing the Creator’s handiwork. Those Hubble pictures should give this whole world a great deal more hope not only because those countless awesome galaxies point us to their Creator and His limitless power. It is also because, when understood according to the revelation in the Bible, they expand our understanding of the incredible human potential God has given us!
