AI Moguls Are ‘Person of the Year’
Good morning!
“Architects of AI” are Time’s “person of the year.” These ceos of a handful of suddenly ultrapowerful companies are providing revolutionary technology that has already disrupted industries and propped up the world’s biggest economy, and (many would argue) is rapidly replacing our ability to think. These executives insist that its future holds infinite promise.
Meanwhile, artificial intelligence is swallowing America’s economy into “a black hole that’s pulling all capital towards it,” Time quotes one investor as saying. “This year, the debate about how to wield AI responsibly gave way to a sprint to deploy it as fast as possible,” Time writes.
Donald Trump wants America to win that sprint. Yesterday, he signed an executive order aimed at establishing a federal standard on AI regulation that prevents states from shackling this booming industry. He was essentially saying, If we don’t push the gas pedal and ignore the caution lights, we’ll get beaten by China.
It is impossible to foresee just how far-reaching the effects will be of society embracing this potent, anarchistic technology, but there are plenty of warning signs. However, don’t expect companies whose god is mammon or governments greedy for power to exercise any restraint, no matter the cost to real people.
Is this the end of the ‘climate cult’?: Yesterday marked 10 years since the Paris Climate Agreement. And it is precisely the time when many are asking, Is this the end of the great climate panic?
-
The European Union will reportedly scrap its 2035 ban on internal combustion engines. The Net Zero Banking Alliance has been shut down. Bill Gates has admitted that climate change “will not lead to humanity’s demise” and other issues are more important. The Washington Post says climate change is no longer even a Democratic talking point.
If the climate cult is dead, good riddance to it and its failed prophecies. I vividly remember being taught in school that by the time I grew up, we’d probably have to wear face masks outdoors due to the worsening pollution. Sure enough, we did have to wear face masks—not because of pollution or any other real threat to our breathing, but because governments went into full oppression mode over a Chinese microbiologist who ate a pangolin.
But I fear it’s too soon to declare the great climate panic over. Why? Because this was never really about the climate or science. Everyone wants clean air and water, obviously. This wasn’t about that: It was about control.
“What is happening here is not about the environment,” wrote Trumpet editor in chief Gerald Flurry at the time. “It is about destroying the United States.”
“Environmental regulation gives significantly more power to bureaucrats,” he wrote. “The governments most in favor of confronting climate change are the socialist, Marxist-type governments that want to control everything.”
Those bureaucrats are on the back foot. The real reason the socialists have stopped talking about climate change in America in particular is that they don’t want to empower these government agencies now that President Trump controls them.
There’s another deadly problem with this movement: “All the talk about climate change has pushed God out of the picture,” wrote Mr. Flurry. “The radical left blames every problem on climate change. But the Bible says that most of it is from God!”
Weather curses will increase. Blaming them on man-made “global warming” or “global cooling” or “climate change” diverts our attention away from the repentance we so desperately need and focuses us on self-destructive bans on internal combustion engines and the like.
“The solution to our problems is not a Paris Agreement,” concluded Mr. Flurry. “It is heeding the warning message God is trumpeting, and turning our hearts to God!” Ten years on, that should be clearer than ever.
Germany needs a 48-hour workweek to man its war machine: Germany must work harder and longer to prepare for war. That is the argument made on today’s Machtmenschen (Power People) podcast by the president of the Federal Academy for Security Policy, Maj. Gen. Wolf-Jürgen Stahl. Stahl, who is advocating for compulsory military service and a 48-hour workweek in the armaments industry, said:
We need to do more. And that means we need to invest more time in our security, no ifs, ands or buts. We need to become qualified and ready for action more quickly. How can we achieve this? Once I have the equipment and the personnel, I still need to train them. And I say, if the situation requires it, I’ll just have to work longer hours and train them for longer.
This is not a popular message, and many will resist it. However, leaders of industry and government have recently also advocated for longer work hours to strengthen Germany’s struggling economy. Economic Minister Katherina Reiche said in an interview with Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung in July: “We need to work more and longer.”
This is leading to the fulfillment of a biblical prophecy that Germany will reintroduce a six-day workweek and become an astonishing military power.
Seeing this revived war machine, people are prophesied to ask: “Who is able to make war with him?” (Revelation 13:4). “[W]hen people see it, they will think that no nation or even alliance of nations could dare make war with this beast power,” Gerald Flurry wrote. Verses 16-17 describe the “mark of the beast,” showing that this military empire is tied to a religious organization. Mr. Flurry explained:
This church-state combine will gain almost total power over people. It enforces its mark. Many people believe that this “mark of the beast” is a physical mark of some kind. But, as Who or What Is the Prophetic Beast? explains in detail, it is a sign—a sign that revolves around the day you worship God.
While Germany is heading toward a six-day workweek, a religious institution will call for people to rest not on the biblical Sabbath that Jesus Christ kept but on Sunday—and it will enforce it with life-and-death consequences. To learn more, read “The Prophetic Beast: Who or What Is It?”

“We are Russia’s next target,” nato secretary general Mark Rutte said in a speech in Berlin yesterday, “and we are already in harm’s way. Russia has brought war back to Europe, and we must be prepared for the scale of war our grandparents and great-grandparents endured.” His speech emphasized the level of Europeans’ fear of Russia. When Russia invaded Crimea in 2014, Gerald Flurry wrote, “The fear you see in Europe because of events in Crimea is going to cause 10 leaders in Europe to unite in a sudden and dramatic way—and in precise accordance with the Bible’s description of that European empire!”
Ukraine struck two Russian ships in the Caspian Sea, it announced today. The Composer Rachmaninoff and Askar-Sarydzha were both under American sanctions for transporting military equipment between Russia and Iran. Russia is stuck in Ukraine, Iran is licking its wounds from an American-Israeli attack earlier this year, and both dangerous regimes are subject to international sanctions—yet they are still cooperating and still pushing.
Not satire: China offers to be UN authority on ‘fairness’: The Chinese Communist Party led the inaugural meeting of its new United Nations group, Friends of Global Governance, on Tuesday, “responding to the needs of the people” and offering its “wisdom to uphold international fairness,” said Ambassador Fu Cong. The party’s Foreign Ministry said the group “aims to build a more just and equitable global governance system” and make a “new contribution to world peace and development.” It also said that the other member nations of the group, which include Cuba, Iran, North Korea and about 40 other nations, “commended China’s leading role in global governance.” The world’s most oppressive and belligerent nations forming such a group further highlights the UN’s tragically farcical failure to establish peace.
China is watching Latin America: China released its most recent Latin America policy on Wednesday, listing areas of collaboration including civilization, development and solidarity. It highlights more than 40 areas of cooperation with a focus on trade. The policy, China’s third since 2008, underscores the nation’s growing interest and power in a region close to the United States and connects to Bible prophecies that foreign powers will economically besiege America.
78,000 ordered to flee Washington floods: Washington State has sustained heavy rainfall as an “atmospheric river” phenomenon has formed over the North American Pacific Northwest. “The flooding levels we’re looking at are potentially historic in nature, so we just want to emphasize how serious the situation is,” Gov. Bob Ferguson said yesterday as his administration ordered tens of thousands of residents to evacuate. Disasters like this are not random or senseless. God reveals that they happen for a purpose.
