UK official silenced ethics advisers over COVID policies

The British government’s chief scientific adviser for health during the covid-19 pandemic silenced government ethics advisers who had raised concerns about the covid passports, the vaccine rollout and the effect of lockdowns on children. The Telegraph reported on December 6 that Prof. Chris Whittey told the cochair of the Moral and Ethical Advisory Committee to stop putting its recommendations in writing. As the government implemented lockdowns, officials told citizens to “trust the science,” yet reports like this one show that high-ranking government officials suppressed the science to serve a political agenda.
