Pope Leo XIV meets with Mahmoud Abbas
Pope Leo xiv met with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas in the Vatican yesterday, the first time the two leaders have met, and on the 10th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Vatican and the Palestinian Authority. Leo has yet to meet with the Palestinians’ main enemy, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. When Leo’s predecessor, Pope Francis, made a controversial trip to the Holy Land in 2014 and openly endorsed the Palestinians’ claims against Israel, Trumpet editor in chief Gerald Flurry called it “a dark sign.” Pope Leo’s actions are another indicator of who the Roman Catholic Church hates.
