‘Peace’ in Gaza Looks a Lot Like War
Good morning!
If you thought President Trump was beginning to side with Ukraine’s Volodymyr Zelenskyy, then their tense, heated meeting in the White House on Friday should give you pause. In the end, Trump stated that any peace agreement must be based on the current military front lines—meaning Russia could retain control over areas it has conquered. The Financial Times reports today that Trump urged Zelenskyy to accept Putin’s terms, or be destroyed by Russia.
President Trump continues to consider Vladimir Putin a legitimate peace partner. He doesn’t recognize who he is dealing with—a man prophesied in the Bible. And as our latest Trumpet cover story points out, he doesn’t see the spiritual dimension to these questions of war and peace.
‘Peace’ in Gaza looks a lot like war: The basic flaw in the Hamas-Israel peace deal showed itself yesterday: Hamas terrorists launched anti-tank missiles at Israeli troops in Rafah, killing two; sniper fire wounded three more. Israel responded with around 20 air strikes in Gaza. Hamas denied responsibility and accused Israel of violating the ceasefire.
U.S. officials are scrambling to preserve the deal that President Trump considers his signature diplomatic achievement and are pushing for implementation of its next phase this week. But the precariousness of dealing with murderous religious fanatics is already plain.
Yesterday’s attack was the most egregious ceasefire violation, but not the only one:
- This morning, Arabs in eastern Gaza City twice crossed the Yellow Line—behind which Israel has withdrawn—and posed an “imminent threat,” the idf said. Israeli soldiers opened fire, killing two.
- In another incident, several terrorists approached Israeli forces in southern Gaza, the idf said, and an Israeli fighter jet deployed and killed them.
For all the promises, Israel and the U.S. have clearly signed a deal with an unwilling, obdurate actor.
- Hamas has said that, contrary to the deal’s terms, it will not disarm and has no intention of ceding control of Gaza. It has deployed armed police on the streets and publicly executed dissidents. It still holds the bodies of 16 Israeli hostages.
What, then, comes next? Preserving and advancing this “peace deal” will require armed enforcement and is sure to continue erupting into conditions that look suspiciously like war.
The groundwork is being laid for what the Bible prophesies will become robust foreign intervention—not by Israeli or American forces but by Europeans.
Germany sends soldiers to Israel: Two German staff officers and a brigadier general will deploy to southern Israel to monitor the Gaza ceasefire, the German Defense Ministry announced Saturday. They will join 200 soldiers stationed at the U.S.-led Civil-Military Coordination Center. Bible prophecy warns that we should watch German deployments to Israel very closely.
- The center’s tasks include monitoring the Israel-Hamas ceasefire, clearing war debris, coordinating humanitarian aid, and supporting a planned international stabilization force.
In February, when European border guards arrived at the Rafah border crossing between Gaza and Egypt, the Trumpet called it “a small beginning of an earthshaking prophecy.”
This weekend’s announcement is yet another foreshock of this prophecy, made by Jesus Christ Himself: “And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh” (Luke 21:20).
In “The Hidden Danger in Germany’s ‘Alliance Against Iran,’” Gerald Flurry explained:
Christ’s warning that these armies surrounding Jerusalem will bring about its desolation is significant. Why? Most people will fail to recognize what is about to happen because these armies will be disguised as peacekeeping forces.
Other Bible prophecies show that the armies surrounding Jerusalem will consist of a European peacekeeping force, led by Germany. The U.S. currently leads the peacekeeping operation in the Holy Land, but this is about to change.
Prince Andrew disgraced, again: Prince Andrew officially renounced the use of all his royal titles last Friday, as a new memoir made more scandalous accusations about his links with the late serial pedophile Jeffrey Epstein. Virginia Giuffre’s posthumous book, Nobody’s Girl: A Memoir of Surviving Abuse and Fighting for Justice, expands on accusations she made against Prince Andrew over a decade ago, adding graphic descriptions of her alleged sexual encounters with him when she was 17 and he was 41.
At the same time, leaked e-mails showed that the prince stayed in touch with Epstein for longer than he previously claimed.
- In 2011, three years after Epstein had pled guilty to soliciting prostitution and procuring a child for prostitution, Prince Andrew e-mailed him to say, “We’re in this together.”
- He is also accused of passing on Giuffre’s Social Security number to his taxpayer-funded bodyguard, asking him to look into her—allegedly to find damaging information to discredit her. If this is true, the prince could face criminal investigations in both the U.S. and the UK.
In a separate story, it was revealed that Prince Andrew held several meetings with a top Chinese official at the heart of a spying scandal.
“What was at first a difficult sideshow for the monarchy had escalated into a poisonous crisis that threatened to undermine it,” wrote the Telegraph.
Andrew wrote in a statement that “continued accusations about me distract from the work of his majesty and the royal family,” so he will “no longer use my title or the honors which have been conferred upon me.” He also said, “I vigorously deny the accusations against me.”
- Andrew will no longer be known as “the duke of York,” though he retains his title “prince.” He will also continue to live in the Royal Lodge in Windsor.
- The last time anyone was officially stripped of a dukedom was when some descendants of British royals fought for the Germans in World War i.
King Charles reportedly has wanted his brother to make this move for some time. Some say he finally acted because he feared that the Nobody’s Girl allegations would overshadow his visit to the Vatican. Officially stripping Prince Andrew of the dukedom would have taken an act of Parliament. The Daily Mail reports that King Charles threatened to pursue this if his brother did not voluntarily lay aside his titles.
These scandals are just one of many signs of the declining morals in Britain’s royal family. Even the fact that the King prioritizes a trip to the Vatican so highly is scandalous. Gerald Flurry wrote:
Britain has lost its faith in God and king and abandoned its moral foundation! The Church of England has surrendered its moral authority, loosening its standards on every issue: women in the clergy, premarital sex, homosexuality. The monarchy, rather than working to prevent the moral slide and uphold godly standards, has watched it happen and even encouraged it! The royal family, including the new king, has been caught up in terrible moral scandals. British society has suffered immeasurably as a result.
Mr. Flurry’s article shows the dangers these scandals pose to the world and what God is doing already to fix it.

Coup in Madagascar: Col. Michael Randrianirina was sworn in as president of Madagascar on Friday, following a military coup. According to the World Bank, three quarters of Madagascar’s 30 million people lived below the poverty line in 2022, and 2 in 3 lacked access to electricity. Protests against electricity and water shortages brought down the previous government in late September and early October. Randrianirina has promised to hold new elections within 18 to 24 months, but he rejected a court order to hold them within 60 days. Madagascar’s woes are a case study in the corruption that has dogged human government throughout history. There is only one government that truly works.
The Houthi military’s chief of staff has died after sustaining wounds from an Israeli strike in August, the Houthis announced Thursday. The Israeli military said Mohammed Abdul Karim al-Ghamari was “responsible for hundreds of missiles and [drone] attacks launched toward Israeli civilians and the State of Israel.” Israel has achieved considerable success in its war against Iran’s proxies. But because of Bible prophecy, the Trumpet expects Iran to continue to increase its power and influence despite these setbacks.
