UN Data Finds Most Aid to Gaza Was Looted in Transit
Over 85 percent of the humanitarian aid sent into Gaza from May 19 to August 4 this year was looted in transit, according to tracking data published by the United Nations Office for Project Services.
- Of the 2,604 trucks of aid collected from the crossings along Gaza’s perimeter during the nearly three-month period, only 300 arrived at their intended destination.
- 2,310 trucks’ worth of humanitarian assistance were intercepted “[e]ither peacefully by hungry people or forcefully by armed actors during transit in Gaza.”
False accusations: Israel has come under heavy fire internationally since the early months of the war in Gaza, being accused of causing a famine in Gaza and intentionally starving Palestinians.
However, a review conducted by United Kingdom Lawyers for Israel publicized in February made clear that this is a false claim, reliant on lies and miscalculations.
In reality, Israel has safely provided Gazan civilians with significant amounts of humanitarian aid, even while fighting Hamas terrorists in Gaza.
Hoax: To understand the reality behind these accusations, listen to Trumpet executive editor Stephen Flurry’s Trumpet Daily episode “Hamas’s Lifeline Is the Starvation Hoax.”
