Clashes between protesters and Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents continue, as the radical left opposes President Donald Trump’s efforts to get illegal migration under control. Today’s main story takes the long view on where these clashes are leading.

Barack Obama used false allegations of Russian collusion to try stealing the 2016 election. OK, that’s not exactly breaking news—but the Trump administration may actually hold him accountable for it. Director of National Intelligence (DNI) Tulsi Gabbard published 114 pages of information on the manufacture of a conspiracy—which she traces all the way to President Obama. Her office put out a bulleted list summarizing the highlights:

• In the months leading up to the November 2016 election, the Intelligence Community (IC) consistently assessed that Russia is “probably not trying … to influence the election by using cyber means.”
• On Dec. 7, 2016, after the election, talking points were prepared for DNI James Clapper stating, “Foreign adversaries did not use cyberattacks on election infrastructure to alter the U.S. presidential election outcome.”
• On Dec. 9, 2016, President Obama’s White House gathered top National Security Council Principals for a meeting that included James Clapper, John Brennan, Susan Rice, John Kerry, Loretta Lynch, Andrew McCabe and others, to discuss Russia.
• After the meeting, DNI Clapper’s executive assistant sent an email to IC leaders tasking them with creating a new IC assessment “per the president’s request” that details the “tools Moscow used and actions it took to influence the 2016 election.” It went on to say, “[The Office of the DNI] will lead this effort with participation from CIA, FBI, NSA [National Security Agency] and DHS [Department of Homeland Security].”
• Obama officials leaked false statements to media outlets, including the Washington Post, claiming, “Russia has attempted through cyber means to interfere in, if not actively influence, the outcome of an election.”
• On Jan. 6, 2017, a new Intelligence Community Assessment was released that directly contradicted the IC assessments that were made throughout the previous six months.

Gabbard has a thread on X with more detailed excerpts from the report.

“The information we are releasing today clearly shows there was a treasonous conspiracy in 2016 committed by officials at the highest level of our government,” said Gabbard. “Their goal was to subvert the will of the American people and enact what was essentially a years-long coup with the objective of trying to usurp the president from fulfilling the mandate bestowed upon him by the American people. Their egregious abuse of power and blatant rejection of our Constitution threatens the very foundation and integrity of our democratic republic. No matter how powerful, every person involved in this conspiracy must be investigated and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, to ensure nothing like this ever happens again.” She told Fox News’s Maria Bartiromo that “I will do all that I can” to hold all involved accountable.

In her interview, she pointed directly to the former president, saying her evidence shows “how this treasonous conspiracy was directed by President Obama just weeks before he was due to leave office.” She also said more evidence, including whistleblower testimony, will be released this week.

The Justice Department has already opened criminal investigations into former FBI chief James Comey and former CIA head John Brennan. It could soon go higher. Matt Taibbi quoted an anonymous source saying Obama is the “center square” of Russiagate. He cited another source that said, “President Trump’s national security team is looking at evidence that members of his 2024 campaign were spied on as well.” Over the weekend, President Trump posted a video of Barack Obama being led away in handcuffs.

Gabbard’s information adds more evidence and details to a story that was already clear.

“The American people are still learning the full extent to which Barack Obama was personally directing this treasonous plot against Donald Trump,” writes Trumpet editor in chief Gerald Flurry in America Under Attack. He continues, “Almost no one has the courage to speak out against Barack Obama!” That is now changing. He writes:

Where do all roads lead? Only one person had the all-consuming motive and malice. Only one person had the forceful, dominating will. Only one person had the necessary ring of powerful accomplices in the government and in the media. Only one person had and has the unassailable pride and power to accomplish this ongoing treason against the United States of America. He must be named! That man is Barack Obama.

In the November-December 2020 Trumpet print magazine, Mr. Flurry wrote:

Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton surely do not want us to know what they were conspiring to do before, during and after the 2016 presidential election to undermine American democracy. But I believe God made sure this information was exposed!

Mr. Flurry’s book America Under Attack paints a very similar picture to Gabbard’s report. It uses the best information available at the time but relies mostly on Bible prophecy. The Bible is the only place you can get the full explanation of what went on at this crucial time in the White House. It even shows why this information is being exposed now. Germany is suddenly preparing for trade war against America, the Wall Street Journal reported yesterday. Because Germany’s car industry is so heavily dependent on U.S. exports, it had been one of the loudest voices calling for the European Union to play nice. But on Friday, a German official said: “If they want war, they will get war.”

The Trump administration has reportedly refused two key German demands: a minimum 10 percent tariff and a discount on tariffs for every car that German companies build in the U.S.

If Germany is changing course, it means Europe is headed for a trade war. The EU will put tariffs on U.S. goods and may activitate its anti-coercion instrument—its never-before-used nuclear option in a trade fight.

This is all based on anonymous briefings and could be mere posturing. America holds a lot of cards, so there’s a lot of pressure on the EU to negotiate. But this increases the chance of hostility between the EU and the U.S. Bible prophecy forecasts the EU weaponizing a worldwide trade alliance against the U.S. It is building right now.

The Catholic Church’s highest-ranking bishop in the Holy Land traveled to Gaza on Friday. Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem Pierbattista Pizzaballa joined with Greek Orthodox Patriarch of Jerusalem Theophilos III to visit Gaza’s only Catholic church, damaged by Israel on Thursday. It is the first visit into Gaza of high-ranking foreign officials since the war began in 2023.

Pope Leo XIV also spoke of his “profound sadness” on the damaged church over the weekend. “Sadly, this act adds to the continuous military attacks against the civilian population and places of worship in Gaza,” he said. “I renew my appeal to the international community to observe humanitarian law and to respect the obligation to protect civilians, as well as the prohibition of collective punishment, the indiscriminate use of force and the forced displacement of the population.”

The Catholic Church’s response to what seems almost certainly a regrettable accident is revealing and dangerous. Israel was hit by a brutal, unprovoked assault on Oct. 7, 2023, killing over 1,200 and taking 250 hostage. Israel is fighting to destroy Hamas, an unrepentant terrorist group that has vowed to launch similar attacks at every opportunity. Israel has been more successful than any modern army, including the U.S. Army in Iraq and Afghanistan, at avoiding civilian casualties in urban warfare. But it is not perfect—especially when Hamas does everything it can to make Israel inflict civilian casualties.

Yet Catholic leaders talk as if Israel is deliberately targeting churches. They are joined by left-wing protesters across the world. Meanwhile, Syria’s new regime is deliberately targeting its own Druze minority and the same people are silent.

With both Orthodox and Catholic leaders visiting Gaza together, this world view is helping to heal a 1,000-year-old split in the Catholic Church. The Catholic Church is also helping turn the whole world against the Jewish state in the Middle East. This is one of the most important legacies of Pope Francis, and it is being continued. Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba lost his majority in the upper house of parliament on Sunday. His coalition already has a minority in the lower house. It is the first time since the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) was founded in 1955 that it has lost a majority in both houses. Like many right-wing parties in Europe, the LDP is being outflanked by a new party further to the right. The Sanseito party is rising in power with “Japanese First” rhetoric. Ishiba has said he will stay on because “[w]e are engaged in extremely critical tariff negotiations with the United States … we must never ruin these negotiations.” Expect Japan to shift further to the right. Iran is back to arming its militias in the Middle East, according to a Wall Street Journal piece published Friday. Anti-Houthi Yemenis “intercepted a major shipment of missiles, drone parts and other military gear sent to Houthi rebels on the Red Sea coast,” it wrote. “Syria’s new government says it has seized a number of weapons cargoes … along its borders with Iraq and Lebanon. The Lebanese army, meanwhile, has seized shipments brought in across its border with Syria that include Russian antitank missiles favored by Hezbollah.” As we wrote in our current print issue, despite current setbacks, Iran’s regime is not finished rocking the Middle East.

France officially ended its permanent military presence in Senegal, leaving Djibouti as the only country hosting a major French base. It is a major setback for the country that long had deep ties with its former African colonies. It comes after coups and Islamic movements have swept across North Africa. Watch for the resulting chaos to force Europe to step back in—but this time with Germany taking the lead.
