Orbán Accuses ‘German Masters’ of Meddling in Hungary’s Election
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán accused opposition leader Péter Magyar and his Tisza Party of being backed by foreign powers, in an interview published on Mandiner’s YouTube channel on Sunday.
The Tisza Party is leading in the polls ahead of next year’s election and represents the most serious political challenge to Orbán’s 15-year rule.
I am not fighting Péter Magyar and the Tisza Party, but their German masters. … It has always been dictated from outside what this country needs. And such people are always found by foreign powers who care about what happens in Hungary and want to influence Hungarian events.
—Viktor Orbán
Clash with Germany and the EU: Germany’s new coalition government led by Friedrich Merz demands that the European Union punish countries that violate “the rule of law” more severely by withholding funds and suspending voting rights. Politico described the clause as a “thinly veiled reference to Viktor Orbán’s Hungary.”
For years Orbán has been in a constant battle with the German-led EU. His rival, Magyar, promises to ease relations.
Another German victory looms: In 2023, Poland’s Law and Justice party, which accused Germany of trying to create a Fourth Reich “built on the basis of the EU,” lost power. This marked a “massive German victory,” as we explained in our February 2024 Trumpet. It also marked a milestone in the fulfillment of Bible prophecy.
Revelation 17 describes a European bloc led by Germany. Poland and Hungary are prophesied to be part of this empire. Orbán’s opposition to Germany may indicate he won’t rule Hungary for long.
It is almost certain that Hungary will be part of the coming 10-nation European superpower. … European leaders are increasingly behaving like dictators and assuming dictatorial power. The people of Europe are being conditioned to accept more tyrannical leadership.
