German Navy to Patrol the Arctic
German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius announced on Monday that the Bundeswehr plans to deploy ships to the Arctic.
“Maritime threats are mounting,” he said at a press conference in Copenhagen on June 30. “To name but a few, Russia is militarizing the Arctic. We are seeing an increasing activity of Russian submarines operating in that area. As early as this year, Germany will show its presence in the North Atlantic and the Arctic.”
Pistorius made this announcement alongside his Danish counterpart, Troels Lund Poulsen. He then announced Germany’s intention to send a warship from Iceland to Greenland and then Canada next year as part of Operation Atlantic Bear.
This will be the first time a German warship has visited Greenland since World War ii and the first time a German warship has participated in Canada’s “Nanook” training exercises.
European superpower: Operation Atlantic Bear’s goal is to counter Russia, yet many media outlets have noted that this operation occurs amid heightened tensions between Europe and the United States.
U.S. President Donald Trump has expressed interest in acquiring Greenland, so the decision to send a German warship could be a subtle way to claim the island for the European Union.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said on May 29 that she dreamed of a united Europe from “the Western Balkans to Ukraine and Moldova. From Greenland to the United Kingdom and beyond.”
Prophesied betrayal: When Germany established its first permanent foreign military base since World War ii in Lithuania earlier this year, Trumpet editor in chief Gerald Flurry wrote an article titled “Lithuania in Prophecy.” He wrote, “Based on Bible prophecy, I can tell you this is no solitary act! The German military is going to expand to many other nations in Europe.”
Operation Atlantic Bear could be the first step toward a base in Greenland.
Since Greenland offers the shortest route from North America to Europe, Germany has a vested interest in increasing its military presence in the Arctic by reaching out to nations like Canada and Greenland. Yet well over 100 Bible prophecies tell us that Germany will use such resources to betray and attack America.
