Germany and Ukraine Intensify Arms Cooperation

Accompanied by representatives of the German arms industry, German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul announced in Kyiv, Ukraine, on Monday its plans to deepen arms cooperation with Ukraine.

A spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense told Welt that Germany had taken over the financing of the production of long-range weapon systems in Ukraine. Specific details about the types of weapons, however, were not revealed, citing security reasons.

More drones: According to Welt, representatives of the German government have also signed an initial contract to finance more than 500 Antonov-196 long-range drones.

  • These kamikaze drones have a range of 745 miles and carry explosive charges of about 110 pounds.
  • They have navigation systems and artificial intelligence, allowing them to strike key targets deep in enemy territory with autonomy and precision.
  • They can also be mass produced and deployed.

Germany is providing financial support to Ukraine for weapons production. It is clear that Germany also wants to benefit from the experiences of the attacked country.
