Russia Carries Out Largest Aerial Attack Yet on Ukraine
Russia launched its largest aerial attack on Ukraine since the start of its full-scale war on Sunday, striking civilian infrastructure across the country, killing two people and wounding at least 12.
- A total of 537 aerial weapons were fired at Ukraine, including 60 missiles and 477 Russian-Iranian Shahed drones and decoys.
- Ukraine shot down 249 weapons, and 226 were lost, likely due to electronic jamming.
- Those that pierced defenses struck residential buildings, homes, churches, a college building, electrical infrastructure and industrial sites.
- Parts of Cherkasy, Dnipropetrovsk, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kyiv, Lviv, Mykolaiv and Poltava all sustained damage.
- A child was among the wounded.
- A Ukrainian F-16 pilot who was repelling the attack was killed and his jet destroyed.
Intensifying: The record-breaking attack is part of a significant increase in the overall intensity of Russia’s onslaught against Ukraine.
In the last week alone, Russia has fired more than 1,270 drones, 1,100 glide bombs and 114 missiles at Ukrainian cities.
[Russian President Vladimir] Putin long ago decided he would keep waging war, despite the world’s calls for peace. This war must be brought to an end—pressure on the aggressor is needed, and so is protection. Protection from ballistic and other missiles, from drones and from terror. Ukraine needs to strengthen its air defense—the thing that best protects lives.
—Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Ukrainian president
Putin’s determination: This week’s unprecedentedly large attack indicates that Putin remains fiercely determined to conquer Ukraine.
Whatever the outcome of this conflict, Bible prophecy shows that he will eventually lead a vast Asian army that will fight much larger wars.
