Finishing Off Iran, Another Executive Order Overturned, Britain’s Vote to Decriminalize Abortion

Watch for Iran to refocus on Africa. Its attempts to destroy Israel through Syria and Lebanon have been blocked, but it’s still focused on Jerusalem. Bible prophecy shows that Iran will ally with Egypt, Libya and Ethiopia—showing where its change in tactics will lead. One way it’s moving in this direction already is through its ties with Somalia, something today’s main story, “Somalia—Iran’s Next Puppet State?”, exposes.

[BRIEF]

Finishing Iran off once and for all? Iran launched two ballistic missile barrages last night against Israel; Israel’s air defenses intercepted most, but falling debris started a fire at a parking lot in central Israel.

Meanwhile, the International Atomic Energy Agency (iaea) announced Monday that all 15,000 centrifuges in Iran’s uranium enrichment facility at Natanz, struck by Israel last week, are either badly damaged or destroyed. In an interview with bbc, iaea Director General Rafael Grossi said, “Our assessment is that with this sudden loss of external power, in great probability the centrifuges have been severely damaged if not destroyed altogether.”

Israel has had a lot of success in severely weakening Iran’s nuclear capabilities. But without American help, Israel cannot end Iran’s nuclear program once and for all.

Is Israel about to get that help?

Yesterday, United States President Donald Trump posted on Truth Social: “We know exactly where the so-called Supreme Leader [Ayatollah Ali Khamenei] is hiding. He is an easy target, but is safe there—We are not going to take him out (kill!), at least not for now. But we don’t want missiles shot at civilians or American soldiers. Our patience is wearing thin. Thank you for your attention in this matter!” He also called for Iran’s “unconditional surrender.”

President Trump isn’t the only world leader interested in regime change for Iran. On the sidelines of the G-7 summit in Canada, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz told media: “We are dealing with a terrorist regime, both internally and externally. It would be good if this regime came to an end.” Merz offered Khamenei an olive branch and said he would be satisfied if Iran returned to the negotiating table. But he said if Iran “is not prepared to resume talks, then Israel will go all the way.” He also said: “I can only say that I have the utmost respect for the Israeli Army for having the courage to do this, and for the Israeli leadership for having the courage to do this.”

How Germany reacts to the ongoing crisis may be even more important than how America reacts. This is because Bible prophecy states that it will be Germany that will ultimately deal with the Iran problem—starting the largest war the world has ever seen. Our Trends article explains.

Another district judge issued a bizarre ruling overturning one of President Trump’s executive orders yesterday. In 2021, Joe Biden’s State Department allowed people to change gender on their passports and gave “nonbinary” people the option to have their passport say “x” for their gender. No law was changed. On January 20, President Trump issued an executive order reversing the decision.

U.S. District Judge Julia Kobick earlier issued a ruling requiring the State Department to allow the six people who had launched the lawsuit to change their gender on their passports. Now she has expanded her ruling to block the order completely, saying it “likely violates the constitutional rights of thousands of Americans.”

This is a perfect example of the double standard in the U.S. justice system. Joe Biden did something, and it’s fine—but if Donald Trump undoes it, then it is manifestly unconstitutional and the courts block it.

“Radical leftists are trying to pretend that any of the 700 federal district court judges have veto power over the president’s decisions,” wrote Trumpet executive editor Stephen Flurry earlier in the year. “And again, they are contorting the Constitution to their own will to keep Americans weak and under threat!” His article “A Nation of 700 Presidents” exposes the spiritual war behind this judicial attack.

Britain’s Parliament voted yesterday to decriminalize abortion right up to the point of birth. Currently, abortion in the UK is allowed until the 24th week of pregnancy; after that, it is only permissible in exceptional circumstances.

The vote means it is still illegal for a doctor to help a woman murder her baby after 24 weeks—but the woman herself won’t be prosecuted. If she uses drugs to kill the baby on her own, no one will be punished. The vote came after Britain made abortion medicine more easily available after covid-19. A small number of women used this to kill babies after 24 weeks, and they were prosecuted.

Only 1 percent of the British public support abortion up until birth, yet Parliament is bringing this in through the back door.

Part of the unspoken background to this is that it will also make sex-selective abortion easier. Since the gender of a baby only becomes clear later in the pregnancy, there isn’t always time to organize an abortion before the 24-week limit.

The Bible makes clear that abortion at any time is murder. It’s especially shocking to see a country allow a mother to murder her baby the day before it is due.

Abortion was introduced as something that would be “safe, legal and rare” and only used in the most exceptional circumstances. Before long, it became a common form of birth control and was authorized in more and more circumstances. Babies were killed because a particular culture doesn’t value girls or boys. Some doctors have even talked about “post-birth abortion.”

There’s a reason abortion has always been a slippery slope: Because abortion is sin—and any compromise with sin always opens the door to more sin. Trumpet managing editor Joel Hilliker explained this subject in his article “Inspiring Truth Abortionists Should Know.”
