North Korea to Send Troops to Help Russia Rebuild Kursk
North Korea is set to send 1,000 soldiers and 5,000 military construction workers to assist Russian forces with reconstruction and mine removal efforts in Russia’s Kursk region, the head of Russia’s Security Council, Sergei Shoigu, told media on Tuesday.
The announcement came a day after Shoigu met with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un in Pyongyang, his second visit to North Korea this month.
- The Kursk region, located in southwest Russia on its border with Ukraine, sustained damage last year after Ukrainian forces advanced into the region and held it for months.
- With the help of North Korean troops, Russian forces reclaimed the region and are now working to reestablish control.
Staunch support: Rather than distancing itself from Russia in the midst of its brutal war against Ukraine, North Korea has proved to be a staunch ally.
- North Korea has sent thousands of troops to Russia and massive amounts of military aid and weapons.
- In recent years, the two nations have formed defense treaties and strategic partnership agreements.
This relationship will continue to strengthen.
Asian alliance: The Bible prophesies of a powerful, vast Asian alliance, which it calls the “kings of the east.” This alliance will be headed by the powerhouses Russia and China, and it will include numerous smaller neighboring nations. That is why the Trumpet closely watches as these Asian allies consolidate into one colossal alliance.
